  1. Well said Simon ... I've been following this thread for a while now and I have to say that I'm surprised at the reaction in a lot of cases. When I was a member of the Z-club back in the early 90's we had to put up with a huge amount of anti-Jap car snobbery; it's taken years to reverse this (in the main, at least Mr Clarkson, grrrr;)). It's a little galling to see us reacting with the same kind of instant snobbery that we've had to do so much to eradicate from the motoring press etc :(. IMO any publicity for the Z32 is welcome; and hey if it's a glossy magazine, full of scantily clad women, then why not? - If Max Power's got a feature with Zs from here in, then I certainly wouldn't hesitate to buy it, just like I would have bought the issue that featured Mac's car, if I'd belonged to the forum then. :) Who cares if the other 'n' hundred pages are tripe. I've never bought Max Power, but regardless of the content, I don't think that's the point - I'd definitely be willing to take my car along to the photo-shoot, as I would for *any* mass media publication that wants to feature our cars. Why not add a bit of class to what sounds like a pretty class-less publication on the whole ... I also felt a bit bad about the reaction that the guy who posted this in the first place got - I bet he didn't expect to be lambasted with a load of negative feedback; I think anyone who can help forward the profile of the club and our cars deserves at least a fair hearing. Just my 2p worth :) CheerZ, JB.
  2. I'm pretty sure Warren had his own feauture in Jap Performance too ... it's all about how his (Sorry Alex, your car) car blew up in Rome etc, etc ... If you'd like to research this particular installmnet of b*****x, I can dig it out and scan it for you - I've got all the back issues of Jap Performance with 300zx articles in them ... yes, I know, I need to get out more!! ;) FWIW I was also told some b*****x about uncles and their ability to make brake discs lmao! BTW, Stu can I be number 1 of another poll of most "infamous" zeds? Owning, as I do, one that's been owned by 5 forum members so far  - in fact as Macca put it "changed hands more times that an old tenner" :) CheerZ, JB.
  3. Happy Anniversary Stu!! :D Now let's see .... 1 year, 4100-odd posts, that's about 11.2 a day .. jeesh!! Hard to believe you've had a chance to do all that work to your car!! You clearly need to get out more mate!! Glad you've had such a good time while you're at it, that's what it's all about, I reckon .. :) CheerZ, JB.
  4. LOL - I like this idea Stu, this would make a great archive ... I can think of one or two more to add ... Warren's/Alex's Z making a firstly inappropriate but now appropriate appearance in Japanese performance mag's letter section about tuning at SE, and in a previous article about it's re-build at Progress (I think). Also my last Z, Stuart's, Paul's, Dazuti's, Jan & Fiona's (both) and John's in an earlier Z-club magazine article about our meet in Kent (wonder who wrote that ;)) Keep 'em coming .. I love all this stuff, sad muppet that I am! :)
  5. LOL - I am flying in the case of common sense here ... - Being of abnormally low intelligence, I've got a daily driver that does even less MPG than the Z  It's a 4 litre Jeep Cherokee .. good relationship with your local petrol supplier guaranteed! :D Dead handy for my fishing gear though, and being able to drive right up to where you wanna set up too! :D CheerZ, JB.
  6. Happy birthday, old bean! :D:D:D:D Have a great day! :) CheerZ, JB.
  7. Quite right too!! :D Quiet day at work, mate? ;)
  8. Good work Buddy! Even more upset I missed it now   Nice one. JB. :D
  9. Yep, I think this is a cracking idea, my only reservation is the likelihood that we piss off people who don't get selected, but nonetheless have contributed immeasurably to the rest of us at some time or another ... Also, who will choose who and how? Can I just clarify, this would only include people who would otherwise *NOT* be subscribing to the club? It's just that I can think of quite a few current members that provide much more than 20 quid's worth of value ... CheerZ, JB.
  10. Make sure it's you Pink one .. and don't forget your matching furry boots!! :D:D:D We can't have a load of disappointed Vikings, now, can we?
  11. I think Pete's off somewhere he's heard there's lots of burly, bearded men  with large helmets and horns!! :D I've heard the place is full of "fjords", it'll be just like Essex! ;)

Oi Shrimpo!! Don't ever moan to me about post-whore-ing again!!! :D Now, where's that "Zed Story" gone? ;)
  13. Just watched two of the three pass over work, ready to assemble in Dartford and fly up the Thames over London ... Looked magnificent, as always - truly beautiful   Argghh - feel quite emotional now - thank my lucky stars that I got to have a go! :) What a shame ... :(
  14. Mark, I'll give you a bell this weekend .. unfortunately James is in Hawaii at the mo (not unfortunately for him) - but I'm still happy to produce something. We can argue about it when he gets back!! ;) CheerZ, JB.
  15. I'd just like to second Gio's words here - what a great loss   It's a real shame, that one more flagship British thing (don't care about the French one - lol) should be allowed to fall by the wayside. :( Without wishing to sound smug, I did manage to travel on it on air-miles, earlier this year with the missus, and it was truly superb .. something quite strange about quoffing Caviar and Krug whilst doing 1350 mph ... :D:D Why won't those bastards let Branson take it over and carry on? Disgraceful  Bye Bye Conkers ... :(:(:(:(
  16. I don't know mate, but whatever you do, don't ask Pete for a number 69 ... or you may get the "cream of sum-yung-guy"  ;)
  17. Chicken and Mushroom Soup, Pancake Roll and Chicken Balls, please ... :D Make it snappy, I'm starving. :D
  18. Hard lines, Jay, sorry to hear that mate ... :( Let's get a Z meet going again soon - perhaps involving beers, I always find that a good panacea when things are looking depressing .... All the best, mate - hope it picks up for you soon .. CheerZ, JB.
  19. Happy Birthday, young Michael .. you git!! ;):D:D I got up at 4.15 this morning to take the missus to the airport, and quite frankly, if you told me I was 60, I wouldn't argue  Have a great day mate! JB. :D
  20. Have a great holiday mate .. :D:D We're not jealous at all. (you git) ;) CheerZ, JB.
  21. Night Jezz .. :D But I'm not tired, honest I'm not ... :(
  22. Erm, no! :D I wanted to make sure it looked really dirty before it's trip to PPS, for maximum effect in the before and after photos (well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!). ;):D Cheers for the kind words, hope you get the problem sorted soon - perhaps you could try getting hold of Darren at Aylesford Nissan .. he's supposed to be a whizz. CheerZ, JB.

Fooking superb mate ... All the best to both of you .. have a great day! :D (Jeesh, I've come over all American). (Hope my car comes back from PPS gleaming like that - don't look bad for a red one ;)) CheerZ, JB.
  24. Jeesh - that is horrible  So, you don't deny ordering it from Jimbo's Canine Curios then? :D:D People like you should be locked up!
  25. ROFL  - That's what happens if you let two partially sited alsatians charge round in a small room .. painful. You shoud be more careful, given your obvious love for the canine! ;)
