sorry, im over 18, have no spots & have an IQ higher than that of a banana

so the mags not really aimed at me

Hey guys, don't be so negative!

We might be able to get a group discount on some cheap and nasty window stickers that will make our cars look fatser!

No!

I think the 'brown or pink' question posed to the girls in the back of the one and only copy of Max**** I've ever bought (and I blame Mac for that) summed it up.

Tim

Whats wrong with the "brown or pink " question?:D

Speaking on a personal level - yes.

It caters for the market that it's aiming at... the back-to-front baseball cap wearing, spotty adolescents who spend more time with their cocks in their hands than anything else. Other than that it's a fine magazine, but I think I'll stick to EVO.

I think I'm too old for Max Power TBH (at last I hope so ;))

Tim

You lot make me laugh!

So no ones ever bought Max P?

None of you use your right hand?

None of you use pink or brown?

Macca cars been in it all ready! (and you all said, Macca top feature, well done!)

Actually i would not have got a Z if it was not for Max Power doing the photo shoot/spread on Macs Z ,was the may 2002 edition that came out in early april,a few days later i bought a SWB TT,thats what started it for me:D ;)

ps ,i still have the magazine of the shoot

Thankyou Tony! Its nice to be right!:D

To be honest i did use to buy it a long time ago but its not as good as it used to be. I do flick through it at wh smith but i wont buy it as the magazine has gone of the point.

I usually go for banzai or jap performance as its more my market.

But im always up for a cruise.

Any chance to show what jap force is like. Especially zed force.

Don't be a knob. I think the whole of this issue boils down to whether you percieve Max Power to be a magazine that you read or want to be associated with.

I voiced my opinion that I believe that MaxPower is the gutter-press of Motoring magazines, but, I also see that it caters for a given market, in the same way that somebody must read The News of the World.

It's a personal opinion take it as such.

hey lets cruise lets show em what real cars look like:D

With some of the "birds"they've had in that mag they should have added green to the choices. Yuk!

max power used to be great when it started, it used to have decent kit tests, decent write ups and wasnt full of minge and adverts.

shame its gone the way it has over the past few years.. perhaps i'm too old.

it was good long time back, but not now, trouble is it sells becouse of the inclusion of smut,to tacky for words, have noticed that Fast Car gone same way, maybe not as bad but catching up,sad:(

Macca's been in max power, now its our turn.

I know get max power to hire a track or airfeild, then let all us lot tear arse about on it while they take pics!!!

Think that would please everyone and ensure a good turnout!!!:D

To be honest I'd actually feel embarrassed to have my car in Max Power, Revs, Redline or Fast Car.

I would be proud to appear in Jap performance mag or Banzai.

This is more like it  - I think Max Power is aimed at the Nova/Saxo/Corsa gang, not really out cup of tea :slap:

I was not embarrassed at all Stu! I did it as a favour to help out PPS.

What ever you think of Max Power It remains the largest selling car mag in the UK

Peter asked me if he could have a feature done on my motor,at that time he was a tiny one man band that needed to get his buisness on the map.

Did it work? you bet almost 20 zs later through his workshop + mail to be from now members on this BB telling me that the feature on my car was the reason they bought a Z;)

Do I buy the mag? NO!

Well you did it for a favour to PPS. ;)

Would you put your car in there if they asked you now, no other purpose but to show your car in their mag ?

Stu If ANY car mag ASKED then I don't see why not IMHO;)

But NO WAY would I do the asking.

gentlemen...

300zx owners in my eye are amongst the more respected of the sports car arena. Such talk of Max Power antics is surely limited to those of the non-sports automobiles. For example, the corsa, the nova and other such examples of "stick on" performance.

Max Power seems to represent those who revel in the productions of Pop Idol, Fame Academy and other such creations of the feeble minded. It is the weak, the insecure and those of small cranium that devour the low quality and dire material printed on the paper that is Max Power.

Please, for the sake of Nissan, say Japanese performance cars and high performance engineering in general... do not, don't even lower ones brow, consider exposing your line of vehicle to the eyes of those who are in so much need of REAL education...

It is such a slippery slope, stay high, be proud. For the real performance scene has so far been hidden from the spotty readers we try so hard to educate via more effective means.

It is on this note i feel sorrow for the loss of a great magazine, C&CC who has recently retired from the press. It is such magazines (and authors such as Dave Walker) who present an avenue for your motoring desires, give your patience more food and await new ventures.

my final word...

for feck sakes lads, dont go the way of lax flower!
