Anyone Heard??
Matt, Not sure how much I can add to this, but it does look like a nice one .. Of course, the mileage is way low, and that does seem to be a priority from what you told me, although you still need to check the relevant maintenance has been done, and given the overall age of the car, make sure that the cam-belt has been changed - even though this isn't normally due until 60000. Can't really tell much more from here! :D The sideskirts and rear bumper/spoiler are deffo Veilside C1 (same as mine ;)) .. don't know about the front, can't tell you any more about that, although I'm sure someone else will be able to make a positive ID! :D Best things to go take a look .. it does seem expensive, after all, 31k isn't *that* uncommon on an import; and as Steve rightly points out, you'd expect leather for that kind of dough. I guess the only thing to do is to go take a look and make an objective decision. After all, you're right to point out that kitting and painting are going to make a 5k car expensive (even if you do find a good low mileage example).. but that paint needs to be as good in the flesh as it looks in the picture, otherwise, you're going to want to get it re-painted, already negating some of the add-on advantage. Also, if there's an aftermarket induction kit fitted, I'd want to know a little more about any other mods that have been done, like ECU, boost upgade etc, etc .. If it's got an aftermarket boost gauge, then it's likely to have been upped; although this is no guarantee. Look forward to hear what she's like in the flesh - but remember, mileage isn't the be and end all with these cars! ;). HTH, CheerZ, JB.

What should you do when you think you've just written off your Z?
I'm glad you had fun .. I did too, haven't had a rant (or even a normal post) for quite a while now; so if people need someone to blame for me and my verbal diarroeah coming out of semi-retirement, then you're the man they should blame. ;) Personally, I've never understood the need to "provoke a reaction", to me it smacks a little of attention seeking; kinda reminds me of another bloke who used to come on here a while back .. still, each to their own. :D Glad to hear, however, that you were at least attempting humour, rather than just being ignorant ... CheerZ, JB.

What should you do when you think you've just written off your Z?
Well, thank you Mick for pointing out the error of my ways and my flagrant abuse of the English language. I really must book that remedial class, mustn't I? I think you have just proven my point, however, with your childish reply. So perhaps, I ought to thank you again. For your information ... My wife, is in actual fact my fiancée, and doesn't read Jeffrey Archer. Not that has any relevance to the argument. You asked the question about "why did I arouse hostility", I answered it. Why you needed to ask is beyond me. The point is simple. In your original, and also pointless reply, you came across as a sanctimonious tosser. However, subsequent to this, you have proven yourself merely to be a tosser. Pure and simple. Good night, Mick. JB.

What should you do when you think you've just written off your Z?
Well, Mick, it would seem that if you don't understand the hostility, then you also seem a bit lacking in the "intuition" stakes, surely? What do you expect when a bloke makes a perfectly understandable appeal for a bit of sympathy/advice amongst like minded enthusiasts. I can't think of a better place to share something that we can all identify with. That's why this is a club, not just an information board, it takes a little camradarie and friendship. At least, that's the way most of the established members view it. Sure, there are worse things in life; but, as you're so fond of saying "so what?". Does Ben need reminding about it at that point in time, when he's upset about what's just happened, by some random geezer? NO! Does telling people that if they had more dough, they'd all buy European exotica, instead of their Zs, help in establishing a rapport on a dedicated internet community? NO! Is the best place to critisice the "mighty Z", an enthusiast's club for the 300zx? NO! FFS .. don't understand the hostility? .. I do .. I'd have thought it pretty obvious, whatever your sanctimonious moral standpoint maybe .. honestly! JB.

Rolling Road - 24th January 2004
I won't be coming along now ... Sorry Neet, for messing you about .. I may well be parting with my car in the not-too-distant, and tbh, I don't want to put all those extra miles on it, if that is going to be the case :(. Sorry all .. going through a strange period with cars right now .. confused  CheerZ, JB.

Z spotted
Oh Peter! Thanks for answering my post, after only 14 months, with your illuminating comment ;). I've heard of post-whoreing, but trawling through for Z-spots, to say "No, not me" is pushing it a little, is it not? And to think, you'll be a father soon too! :D CheerZ, JB.

South East / Essex meet 3 - Operation Turkey and beer - DATE CHANGE
Sorry chaps ... combination of feeling like the proverbial, and having far too much sh*te needing to be done meant I've had to miss it. Apologies for poor effort :( Beers are on me next time, though, so long as it's not Billing! ;) CheerZ, JB :(

300zx?
Presumably the same thing had occurred with the 280zx also, then? Good story, but sounds highly improbable, methinks. I'll go with the luxury theory, seeing as the 280zx was a more luxurious, if less sporty evolution of the 260/280z. :) Driving a mondeo does not necessarily preclude one from providing useful input does it? After all, most of the time I drive a Jeep Cherokee, and I don't even do the school run! ;) CheerZ, JB.
