I.C.E boot install
I take it you're great in the morning too, then Glynn? LOL :D Seriously though, bed metaphors aside, my hat is off to Stuart for producing an install like that himself, I haven't seen it in the flesh, but looks great in the piccies .. especially with the backlight on. :) CheerZ, JB.

need some zeds in maidstone on 28th
Yep, I'm still going ... last time I think I got down there about 12'ish .. so I guess it'll be the same-ish again :D As for directions, it's a doddle for you, Paul .. Straight up the A2, then across the A249 towards Maidstone .. then take the second exit at the M20 r/about onto a short dual carriageway .. you will see "Notcutts Garden Centre" on your left .. this is where you want. So, take a left at the end of the dual carriageway at the r/about and then left into the garden centre, as you come up the driveway, it's garden centre left, pub on right .. give me a bell if you get lost. For anyone else ... it's J7 of the M20, then if you're coming southbound, it's the third exit from the r/about, then you're on the short dual carriagway, or, if you were coming off at J7 northbound, then it's the first exit at the r/about. Think it's signposted Maidstone (East) and Bearsted. c'ya there!!! :D:D CheerZ, JB.

I am not a number - I am a Free Man! LOL - Sorry got carried away, must be those years of mental conditioning  Thanks Neet, JB.
-
Membership No?
Ooops, sorry Neet! ... just goes to show why patience is a virtue, doesn't it? :)
-
Membership No?
Nor was I the 1055th - or, if I was - where's all that money gone? LOL :D:D Tim, I think that you get the number when you register .. perhaps you were the 265th lucky punter to register? By this same system - Craig is no.1 if you hover over his rides link. Whether that's gonna make it a valid membership no. is a different question, however, although until we get a formalised scheme started then I guess it'll do for queries like John's. CheerZ, JB.

ANOTHER 5p per litre on petrol!!?!?!?
Better get used (or more used) to this kind of sh*t seeing as Blair and his spin doctors have canceled politics in the UK, by convincing us that they're all as bad as each other. Hence, no need to change. They'd far rather we worried about Posh & Becks than the fact that the country is being ruined ... Arrrggghhh ... bloody politics.

how to get ecu codes
Dave, You need to be looking at the "engine-thingy" light on the dash, once you've got the ECU in diagnostic mode. It will flash slowly for the "tens" and quickly for the "units". It repeats in a loop so don't worry if you miss it first time. :) HTH. CheerZ, JB.

Author Wanted!
Good point, Tim. Perhaps I can open the discussion and perhaps we can all exchange some views, without it getting hostile or personal :D I agree that in making 300zx.co.uk a club, we do need to offer more than just a bunch of forums - it'd be great to think that we could offer additional depth with articles, reviews and more technical information (albeit that I acknowledge there's other sites like Andy's and Stuart's that already supplement this very well at the moment). I can see a few clouds on the horizon, though - 1) You bring to the fore an interesting point in referring to the "feelings" that the Trax thread aroused. Clearly, we've got a lot of work to in working together a bit more harmoniously for a start ;). Somehow, we need to make all the paying members (and potential ones) feel that the club will be inclusive of their views - how do we do that? 2) If this is going to be more than a one-off excersice, the content needs to be dynamic. That means that people will need to make an effort to come up with ideas and material. I already know from talking to Mr Burns about the Z-club magazine that getting people to generate material is no mean feat. So, who's prepared to take time out to generate stuff like this? 3) I don't know that we're equipped to have the site regularly updated without relying on the goodwill of Mike Groves at the moment - perhaps the committee have plans to address this? 4) What sort of content do we want, to make the difference? It needs to be accurate (un-challenged) and credible and readable. It's a tall order. OK .. there's a few points for a starter - and just to sum up before any readers nod-off ... It seems to me that the last week on the forum has proven that there's a degree of re-grouping and discussion to be had before we can move forward. Paul hints at this clearly in his post in "suggestions" ... personally, however, assuming we can pull together, I think this is a great initiative, and I'd be happy to get involved where I can. Apologies for the length of this post ... but there is a lot of passion out there about this forum and our beloved cars, it just need harnassing IMO. :D Here's a dancing banana for good measure:  CheerZ, JB.

Fuel Injection - YGM. Tim, I agree that anything like this should be shared material, but where do you see it fitting in on the board? Are you thinking along the lines of FAQ's? CheerZ, JB.

Ever been done by another ?
Got to be honest ... I've been reeled in by my mates 911 turbo ... I had my foot through the floor in 2nd/3rd, but he was gaining. Mind you, he did spend 93k on it just 6 months ago  Plus, I got my own back, as I changed out of second and shot a flame out of my 'zorst and scared him sh*tless for the front of his v.expensive car!! :D:D Other than that, no ... not since I had and auto-Z (runs for cover). LOL.

Perhaps the post-man was Bill Clinton, having fallen on hard times? :D:D It could happen! ;) Or maybe Bill Cosby, or even Portland Bill - Children's entertainer gone bad!!
