  1. not yet. when jeff measured it on saturday it was only hitting 4psi. boost gauge should arrive tomorrow though. not sure why it wont boost to 7.
  2. been to see jeff at the weekend and he has done a great job of looking over the car and pointing me in the right direction. the dump valves were leaking and that seems to have solved the overfueling issue. however still not making propper power. i realised this evening that none of the boost solinoid lines have restrictors in them. would this be why i have poor power?
  3. went to taba in march, like said above. you only need one if you leave the resort etc
  4. spoke to jeff today. he said its fine
  5. i know what it is:D the flames do give it an honest 50bhp extra ps nice to meet you mate
  6. mine does this mate. should be normal as you are pressurising the intake, there are breather pipes which go direct to the cam cover, which should vent to the sump which obviously connects to the dip stick i hope
  7. ps how wide are your rims i will be running a 225 on a 9" rim on the front and a 255 on a1 0" rim at the rear. ive run these before with no probs
  8. go to archenemy.co.uk basically he will take your wheel off and use a plastic roller on an arm bolted to the hub to push back the arch lip and if you want give the arches a slight flair. top notch work very popular on the sxox
  9. hi mate. i am a long term sxoc member aswell. ive looked into fitting the 300 front suspension onto my 200 project but i have given up on that idea. it can be done as ive seen a rb 4wd conversion done. you will need to seriously beef up the mounting point for the upper link though. the strut on the front only takes the spring loading though so it is effectivly a double wishbone setup. if you are stuck with this i have both a 300 and a 200 (which is a bare shell at the moment you are not too far from me so pop over. not been on the sxoc for a while as fixing the 300 has consumed all my time of late. that will change soon though hopfully so i can get on with the project
  10. thanks mate. look forward to seeing the car too. not really seen another zed in the flesh before. guess ill see a few tomorrow
  11. well ill look forward to seeing jeff tomorrow then. ill apologise in advance for my shed of a car
  12. anyone going to be there. ill be there from about 8.30
  13. i currently have a 300 and a 200. very different cars to drive. you sure can feel the weight in the 300. i sold my daily drive 200 around 9 months ago which was running around 280bhp and that was deffinatly faster than my current 300 which is at the moment stock ish and an auto. obviously once you start tuning the sky is the limit as i would think my 200 project car would distroy almost any 300 :D you will spend alot more on the 300 both in fuel, repairs and insurane my view would be to go for the 200 (s14) if you intend to use it as a daily drive or the 300 as a weekend toy
  14. should be fine mate. i would check the idle valves, i had a leak from mine and the hoses connecting to the plenum
  15. excelent. ill be needing one once the zed is running correctly can you pm me details or post me a link for cost etc. ill be running what most would call stage 1- 15psi +exhaust and filter ta ps sorry to hijack the thread:)
  16. are the wastegate actuator rods connected?
  17. excelent stuff. the lexus has a slightly lower capacity and the valve angle is a bit steeper so the heads are not as wide. hence its a bit smaller. makes less power though. are you still doing chips mate btw
  18. is the setup the same as the sr20? in which case you might want to look at rocker arm stoppers aswell which can stop the arms jumping off at high revs which i take it you are aiming for i understand about the treading new ground. i am fitting a toyota 1 uz into my 200 with a pair of gt28s. i would love to see your car sometime john as you are only just down the road from me (i used to work in stourport) i would have loved to have fitted the nissan v8 but funds were limited at the time and the lexus engine is easyer to come by. pete
  19. i paid £400 for mine. i need to buy a clutch and i have bought replacement rubber boots etc. should set me back around £700 all in but i think i got a bit of a bargin. ps did jeff sort your zed out?
  20. ps yep testing was done dry but with engine warm.
  21. im trying to make sure the engine is 100% before i tune it. im also visiting zedworld next saturday so i am trying to do as much work as i can so that less of his time is wasted trying to pin down my running faults, the main one being its running very rich which costs a fortune in petrol and is not giving great performance. idle is lumpy too
  22. did a compression test today. i think all is well all drivers side was 12bar- 176psi all passanger side was 11bar-160psi i think my timing belt is out as the cas is adjusted to nearly the end of its travel. i would hope that after changing the belt they might level out? as one bank would be running more overlap hence a lower compression. make sense? if the head gasket had failed i would expect either one or two cylinders to drop
  23. std way i think. on incline. undo cap and bleed screw, fill up. start with heater on. fill up again put on cap then wait untill bleed runs with water then tighten. btw car does not overheat
