99 spec
i will be doing the centre panel but i dont have one at the moment as the current one is knackered. i have cleaned up the lights with some clear pastic polish and they have come up like new. im not sure about the illuminated centre, might just paint it red. what options do i have for front indicators? i know the 99s are different and if you can see the ones on it at the moment you will understand why im not bothered about keeping them. i guess they are us spec:hurl: i have seen some smoked 99 spec ones, they might look cool with black ducts instead of fogs (which are ot correct or working)

99 spec
there is a guy on ebay. he had three as as far as i know he still has 2 paid £300 for it:dance: fitted the teins yesterday. the transformation is dramatic to say the least. i was a little worried they would be too hard but they are firm with geat damping just as comfy as standard. they are tein ha. one of my shocks has no damping at all so that would explain the boat impression. next on the list is the rear lights

Day 2 of questions!
my revs still rise even though there was no gas in the system
-
Possible cause?
in which case it is the supply to the turbo and caries no boost.
-
clutch pedal adjustment
just a thought. could it also be the switch. this is used to set the height when not pressing the clutch pedal
-
should my car do this
just been checking the tps and noticed that when the throttle is moved to about 1/4 and up to 3/4 there is a buzzing noise from the back of the engine. this is obviously done with the engine off but ignition on. is this normal? egr perhapse

clutch pedal adjustment
or you have let air into the system?

idle issue
:Dthe tps wiing is one thing i have not messed with yet. perhapse that could be part of the problem as i did have it disconnected when i cleaned the idle valves. thanks keep the ideas coming and ill keep checking
-
idle issue
unfortunatly i did that last week. set the base timing with the connector disconected then connected it. the revs did not rise though as i thought they should.:( also started nearly stalling when starting up so i think the control valve may be shot/ faulty aswell now. perhapse i wired it up the wrong way:smash:

Several Weird Faults...
the high speed thing sounds like a loose battery connection
-
idle issue
any advise on this jeff?
-
could my timming be out??
it would suggest you have a failed lambda sensor on that bank and would cause the light to come on. it would effect idle too
-
Possible cause?
that pipe looks like it is from the air filter/maf to the tub. is it the hard pipe? if so it would not cause a boost leak but would run lean on boost
-
idle issue
did you go for a series 2 or just a new series 1?

idle issue
how smooth should a zed idle? i ahve beem trying to iron out all the bugs from my zed. im not sure if i still have a problem or not. i stilll feel it could be better. it deffinatly does not misfire but still has a slightly lumpy idle which infact feels worse when touching the body of the car than touching the engine. i have replaced all the connectors checked the temp sensor resistance replaced the pcv valves (they were new anyway) cleaned up the cas today and set timing the 15 btdc- was about 11 cleaned out throttles replaced all vac hoses checked coil packs and the springs that go to the plugs cleaned out idle valves etc deleated carbon canister and aiv checked tps voltage is 0.45v all the above seem to have inproved things but im still not entirly happy. when sitting in the car holding the wheel you can feel some vibrations. a few things i thought it could be are knackered box mount which i will change when doing my manual conversion. i also noticed when setting the ignition timing that the cas is not centred now and is most of the way to anti clockwise (you can still see a bit of the slot though) i also checked the cam belt and it is not perfectly lined up with the markings. the belt was done about 2 years ago, by z world i think so should be fine. i did clean out the maf a while ago and seemed fine- could this be the culprit- is there a difinitive test for it? i have also noticed that some times it starts as soon as you turn the key, other times it takes a second or two- maf? it also can smell of petrol when booting it. sorry to waffel on
