  1. i would think the escort racing would suit your car mate. its a 99 spec with a shaved plate mount and a lower splitter. only down side is that it is fiberglass not plastic (pu) like the 99spec. i have a 99 spec ready to go on mine but i dont think ill fit skirts as there are none i like for the swb
  2. perfect weather for reupholstering, sitting on the sofa in the evening cutting out bits of trim and anoying the mrs with the smell of impact adhesive. not great for painting though

  4. had my black swb for about 1 month 9 months for the red lwb which is slowly being sold off/scrapped
  5. Thanks 300 dre, like he says. ive pollished up the rear pipes and they are like a mirror, i was never able to fit it to my car as ive now got a swb. but i have heard they sound fantastic and the quality is superb. i can post some pics if you would like

  7. well if it makes you feel any better, this is the plan for my car. its a swb tt manual targa in mettalic black std exterior with eto following alterations 99 spec front 99 spec rear lights despoilered clear side repeaters 17 x 9 front et18 17 x 10 rear et 22 enkei rp01 low enough to make it look correct (if you see what i mean) on teins interior std fitment late spec recaros charcoal alcantara replacing all tweed gray/black nardi wheel momo shifter 3 gauges in slot below stereo retrim dash/ centre console in black leather engine all black/chrome/ polished alloy. except plenum finished in crackle red wire tuck hicas delete battery to boot- tray removed engine bay respray decluttered Thats is im going for a clean uncluttered look, no gimicks no flashy bits. i totally agree with si there are loads of zeds out there that have thousonds spent only to make them look worse. hoping to complete for june so i hope to see you at a few shows

  10. it far more likely to be an alignment/worn bush issue. replacing any worn bushes and having a propper alignment will transform the car. you say the car is lowered so as a start the car will be out of alignment even if it was perfect before. The rear suspension on these cars is very complex and has lots of bushes and tends to need setting up quite often
  11. i drove a n/a auto ages ago and it was very dull. i think ther are fwd too
  12. i would have the rear subframe etc with back part of prop if breaking
  13. i have used the metal based fillers before to good effect. to be honest any filler will shrink/crack over time

  17. erm where to begin picked up my new swb last weekend. starting tomorrow i will:- remove the engine and give back to rigs strip out engine bay and either clean up or repaint remove all hicas associated bits and wiring loom shotblast front cross member and repaint gloss black repaint steering rack etc and fit to cross member with poly bushes finish off engine-all new external gaskets, seals cambelt kit waterpump, repaint, new plugs, new sensors, new turbo elbows/decats with new o2 sensors, painted plenum, wire tuck, lightened pulleys etc bolt up fidenzza flywheel with new bolts and rps clutch and attach new manual box with new rubber boots etc. attach engine/box to cross member with new mounts to cross member and store. strip underseal and tackle any rust clean up all rigid brake pipes and paint up to protect/replace zinc prime and stone chip underside shotblast all suspension bits and repaint- replace all worn joints refit engine and suspension find new drivers wing- in metallic black if anyone has one paint and fit 99 spec bumper repaint hatch and fit new perspex strip- despoilered and de wipered repair damaged paint on os 1/4 pannel and weld up airial hole remove stone guard from below swage restore all rubber trim bits repaint scuttle and wipers machine polish retrim tweed in black alcantara fit factory recaros fit clutch pedal mot! enjoy car planning on getting to a few shows this summer in it!!!

  20. I gave the car a quick wash tonight to see what lies benieth and to give it a bit of a clean before i work on it. looks better than i thought. i tried to take some photos but its too dark
  21. they way to go with a kitten would be a hyabussa engine mounted in the back. z-cars do a twin hyabussa mini good for 60 in less than 3 seconds im building a lexxus v8 powered s14 with two t28s and a scratch built seven with a 350bhp redtop which should weigh in at about 500kg- those any good to you
  22. ah it was leon that i was thinking of. it fits well but the centre section is too wide i think so it does not line up with the cutout bit. i was also thiking of a srb type 2 splitter for the 200sx
