  1. That has to be the most annoying thing ever when you never really get to the heart of a problem but somehow it gets cured during your investigation.
  2. measure the crank and if it is in within tolerance buy a set of ACL standard main and big end bearings. The reason z1 said your grades are no good is probaly because standard nissan rods are graded by size, this coupled with the crank journal determines the bearing size. But we are talking about microns of difference which is a tad anal to say the least.

  7. At £2295 it was never gonna be a peach.
  8. yeh why not.should be able to attend me thinks. Will need quite a few to attend as interpro normally charge £65 for a power run.
  9. What turbos are you upgrading too j1mmy?
  10. Happy birthday guys.Hope your having a good one.
  11. I heard a similar thing that in the 80s(shows his age now) the MG Maestro turbo press cars all blew up because the factory had wound the boost up to make the cars more impressive.
  12. No need to go to forged pistons on an N/a with mild upgrades. If the bores and pistons are within tolerance then a hone with new rings will be fine.

Are we meeting up somewhere first and running a zed convoy up to Castle coombe?.
  14. A standard rebuild is fine but id advise you to fit forged pistons as at a later date if you want to up the boost and chip the car youll kick yourself when the ring lands part company with your pistons.

I will try and make this one but i cant put a super dragger over me leathers. My missus would go  as she payed for the re trim as a gift .

What the old man means is he wants to take the zed for a good run and stretch its legs after its build.if you said John o groats he,d go.
  17. I use fuch semi syn 75/90 in my gearbox and shes sweet as a nut.we keep it at work for vans which is a bonus.
  18. The brakes on a zed will work fine if in good working order.if your caliper pistons are free id give them a bleed to flush out the old fluid.when you see the colour of it after 17years youll no why it needs changing.brake fluid is hydroscopic(absorbs moisture) so after time its boiling point is reduced and pedal feel will be compromised. It will make a hell of a difference.
  19. Seen a red lwb L reg in Weston village near Bath, had stock wheels and a pram handle on the bootlid.Anybody from here?
  20. Check the engine cont fuse under the bonnet. If this blows the bat light can glow and all sorts of other strange electrical problems can occur.
  21. Weld an m10 nut on the end of the protruding stud, the heat from the weld will help to free it off as well.

  23. what you can do is use your inner stop light bulbs to stay on as rear fogs so you dont lose one of the already useless reverse lamps.
  24. Many thanks guys.off to the pub now for some grub and a :duffer: .
