I was recently asked by a fellow member whether the stainless steel headers sold on Ebay and elsewhere would fit a RHD NA car. My answer was no based on fitting three sets to different cars myself. Also I know several NA owners/members on here have fitted them too and had to do the Lambda sensor re locate job. Since I am in the middle of fitting them / building my new car I was able to take a clear photo showing the original RHS Lambda boss fitting pointing straight at the steering column and thus preventing the sensor being fitted. Pic also shows my way round this..... weld in another boss. (I nearly didnt get this right... it could have been a few degrees differe…

Hehe, gotta love this car - been running it one month and already had a few issues with it. :punk: Right, basically progressively over the last 2 weeks its been more and more reluctant to start. The battery is fine, it was replaced a month ago and is still holding full charge. The starter motor is bolted in dead tight and doesnt move. When starting the starter motor can sometimes crunch a couple of times but usually just spins freely (whizzing sound) When I try to start the guage lights do dim for a second as it should Today I sat trying to start it numerous times (about 20) just letting it stop spinning before trying again and after about 2…

I'm looking for some guidance and help on an issue i'm trying to resolve regarding the fitment of rear back boxes on the LWB Z32 (89-01). Basically, do original or aftermarket back boxes differ in overall length on the LWB models throughout any of the production years? I assumed that any rear boxes designed for the LWB models would fit onto the original system without a problem. I removed a set off my LWB and am going to replace with a new pair soon BUT i've sold the old ones to somebody who also has a LWB and they are saying that the boxes are 6" too long and the end flanges are the wrong size even though they are the normal bore size??? They are adamant t…

Hi I cannot find in the online manual a diagram of the rear water pipes. I need to know what diameter it is and what pipe is best for this. Silicone vacuum pipe I have been told will not last. Where is the best place to source some? Thanks Paul

A very common zed body work issue is the alignment of the front wing where it meets the door and more so lower down at the sill. Check out the pictures below the first showing how bad it can look, the problem is caused by damage to the lower part of the wing where it is fixed to the sill. The damage can be cause in accidents but in the main is due to badly placed trolley jacks, tyre bays been the worst culprits. The good news the fix is relatively easy, in the case shown a simple redressing of the wing fixing is all that was required, a flat bolster chisel is ideal and as the lower wing / sill start to move back in place it is easy to judge how far to go. …

My zed has been sitting in on my drive in all weather conditions uncovered and untouched for the last 4 months and hasn;t moved since feb last year, while I've been working on stuff like refurbing a rear subframe brakes etc all ready to get put on it. Anyway, I decided to have a look inside and see if she was ok. Was a little bit worried on what I would find but after a bit of wd40 in the drivers door I finally got in only to find that it's completely bone dry :thumbup1: not a hint of any water or damp getting in.. I decided to turn her over and it started first time! only to cut out straight away. A quick look in the engine bay reminded me that the apexi was wrappe…

A very popular performance mod is a “chip” and boost upgrade, the ecu part of the job requires the Nissan eprom to be de-soldered and a socket to be re-soldered in. However this is where mistakes are often made with poor soldering causing shorts and subsequently damaging the new eprom. But even the professionals get it wrong sometimes, check out the pictures below, not easy to see in the first one but picture two and three show in closer detail that one of the pins has not been soldered at all and in fact caused the ecu to behave very oddly, very embarrassing for the company involved, 30 years in Auto Electronics and a silly school boy error. Do what i,ve been doing , cars on the drive so i,ve run an exstension into the car , folded the back seat down and put a 2Kw blow heater in the back pointing forwards , when i get up and about half an hour before leaving i plug the extension cable in which is already run into the house , it warms up inside nicely and melts all the ice of your windows and demists them as well , far better than freezing ya nads off scraping ice at 7 in the morning :thumbup:

  18. I need the OD size of the top pipe where the bung should go when fitting bov's in place of the recirc valves, obviously i want to buy a rubber bung to fit over the top of it. Yes i cant be bothered to measure it myself.. too cold.... I also need the OD size of the lower rubber pipe that comes from the intercooler pipe that goes onto the bottom of the stock recirc. not the actual metal pipe size as im reusing the stock rubber hose.... Thanks guys.

Hi im having some problems with the power steering on my 1990 tt, there was a noise coming from the front left pulley, was told it was probably requiring replacing, on this forum, another suggestion was to top it up while engine running, now this done the trick and i had power steering again, just been back out in the 300 and no power steering again, ive looked for fluid loss but nothing apparent, where is the fluid going? tried diagnostics but cant get the flashing lights please help getting fed up working constantly on the car..

I'm going to upgrade the front speakers in my Zed as they're a bit crap. I want to get a pair of 6.5inch components, and probably an amp to run them. I don't know much about audio and was hoping someone would be able to recommend me a speaker/amp combo. I also don't know if I'll need an amp or not? (headunit is one of these: http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-ida-x200_p-23163.htm, 4x45w output) I don't want to spend a fortune either! I was hoping that I could do the whole thing for under £120 and I don't mind buying used... I'm looking for as high quality as possible, don't need to be too bass oriented as I'm probably going to get a separate s…
