I'm currently in the pit under the car typing this on my iPhone trying to fit the altenator wiring harnis, on the back of the altenator there is a 2 pin plug and a lug to attatch a ring wire. However the harnis seems to have to 'ring end' wires on it which wire goes to the lug on the back of the altenator? Why are there two? Do they both go to the lug? On is slightly larger than the other I know it's late but any help asap or a diagram would be great thanks

I have been told that the reason behind my steering wheel judder at 60mph is brake pad imprint on the rear face of the nearside front disc. These discs have only been on for about 500 miles so you can imagine I am not to impressed. I have had a look on the K-sport site and they don't seem to sell the discs seperatly but recommend using AP racing discs. Has anyone on here had to replace their k-sport discs and if so where did you get them from?! Cheers in advance, Dave

I'm in the middle of removing my plenum. My car has had the solenoid disconnected from the EGR valve as it was faulty and causing poor running. Can I blank off the two holes in the underside of the plenum where the EGR pipes join it and leave everything else as it is? Any help appreciated

Ok ive had a look through a few searches and not really found everything i need. Ive had a quote of bodywork repairs and the guy said to me if you like tinkering with cars why dont you do it yourself and i thought what a great idea it would add more to my talents so what im looking at is trying to get all the equipment at the best prices but also the required quality for a good job. I dont have a compressor yet so i thought thats a good place to start then paint guns one for laquer and one for the paint as recommended to me tonight. I know there is a few people that do paint spraying on here so your help would be appreciated. Not looking at spraying whole cars…

After the discovery of knackerd sills, ive now source the repair panels. to do the outer, and inner and one return. After digging how deep the crud goes its only 2-3" from the lower base line, and about 12" in length. so there is more than enough space to get back onto existing decent metal. it needs doing as ive caught it in time before it is worse. The thing is i can borrow a welder from a friend, is it worth trying my hand at welding to sort it. or just bite the bullit and pay a mate who does it for a living but for £200-£300. Sure my mate, will do a far better job, but i like to try new things. Will i more than likely mess it up and regret not paying.

After finishing the rear suspension and plenum water bypass I finally got the car to start after fndng the loose CAS plug. I did the bypass as the thread below, once the car started to get to temperature something happened and all the water was dumped over the drivers side turbo and downpipe? I checked the bypass hoses and heater ones and they are all fine, any ideas? Is there another rubber hose for the turbo, assuming I've done one then there must be another like the two on the passenger side? http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=132280

new problem, at idle sometimes the engine revs itself to over 1.3k then stays there, may drop every so on, and sometimes may not evn do it, what the hell is going on???? car isnt overheating. just to rule that out. and it does idle stabely... but at either standard, 800rpm or for some strange reason 1.3-1.5k rpm

Hi Jim, ok more revealed with the engine running issue, seems the cambelt has skipped on three camshafts, only the o/s inlet one is correct! The worst one been the os exhaust been two teeth retarded, which explains the odd fuel firing down the exhaust on that side, the other two camshaft been one tooth advanced!. You have pm matey Jeff TT

basically, the hicas system cuts in at about 75 and gradually turns the wheels further and further right, and right only causing the car to basically crab up the road, the higher the speed the more the angle.... how do i fix this. and/or what is the cause? its definately hicas as when i disconnect the hicas connector in the engine bay (disable hiscas) the problem goes away..

I know it is not a major issue, but does the ignition key double as the rear hatch lock/unlock key or am I missing a key? If I am missing a key, is it easy enough to get a re-cut or will I have to change the lock it's self? Hope someone will shed some light. Thanks, Redwine300

Decided that the decals that were on the Zed when I bought it weren't my idea so didn't want to be driving around in someone else's "Trip" lol. So managed to get them all off today and give it a good wash afterwards! Just need to get some good polish to get the paint looking the same and a good wax after :) Will get some better pictures after a polish/wax :cool3:

Hi Guys Am I right in thinking that the auto shifter isn't actually connected to the gearbox in any way ? Been looking at the ESS Racing SAW product again and was wondering if I could dispense with the shifter and replace it with a simple switched arrangement for selecting 'D' or 'P' which seem to be the two required settings for the SAW to operate. What one would you recommend guys? I like a glossy finish as opposed to matt for the tyres. I have been using Demon Shine detailer and am happy with the results but wondered what you guys recommend for this also. Thanks in advance.
