right my car is an import so does not have fog lights as such. i assume upon import the car was converted in the following manner to provide it witrh fogs, but they did it wrong. il describe with what ive got if you view the clusters head on as a car from behind would: brake lights, the two outside bulbs illuminate. sidelights, both bulbs illuminate on the dimmer setting. fog light, both bulbs illuminate at the lower setting looking as if i have my side lights on. this to me makes no sense and i assume the person who meant to do this meant to wire the fog light to the inner brake light bulb, this would be more logical wouldnt it? so my question is how do i modi…

I have some crappy cone air filter on the Zed and I was wondering if it is worth going back to the original Zed one or another aftermarket one. On the Supra the standard one is a lot better than the aftermarket one (according to the people in the know on the Forum :smartass:) so I was wondering if it's the same for the Zed. I have an N/A if it makes a difference :detective: Thanx Ade

My Zed had been stood for a bit awaiting a top radiator hose, so I fitted it this evening and ran her up. Now there's a distinct but not obtrusive tappet noise. What do you reckon, would an oil change help or should I be thinking about slightly thicker oil or an additive to take away the ticking in the short term? TIA!

currently in teh rpocess of saving up for some aftermarket alloys, im rolling on the orginals atm. ive got abudjet of about £500 quid taht could go up a bit for teh right set. i was orginally looking at 18s as they seem to be the best size visually on a zed. but 17s are a hell of a lot cheaper to buy. how much difference will taht extra inch make looks wise? and would i still be able to fit 330mm discs behind a 17? reilistically am i best buying second hand or buying something new within my price range. im not planning on using them for track use or agresive driving realy maybe the odd spirited b road or drag race but nothing heavy. advice please guys.

what are these factors that effect the engines output over time. im asking following a previous thread relating to a rolling road. and the discussion there about healthy engines. so other than services items suchj as air filters choking the car etc what else limits its power, does teh power drop due to the compressions effectivness? for exapmle worm valve seating and worn piston rings? or is it motre technical than that. can some one please explain???

Only the number plate :) so still have the car. Shame really as I always thought the plate finished the car off, but it will help me pay off one of my credit cards. Barry

For those that dont know I have just purchased my old Short wheel base N/A manual back. It has had a slight misfire since getting it back, this happens more when the car is sat ticking over for a couple of minutes and when I go to pull away it takes a few seconds to clear. Today when I went to leave work the car fired briefly and then just turned over and would not fire, very strong smell of fuel although I did not touch the throttle. Normally the car fires into life instantly with the engine not even turning over once. Im guessing this may be MAF but wanted some advice, I have added a couple of pics of an after market filter which has been on the car …

Ok quick one about the above as looking on the search no one has actually posted pics about doing this on a NA engine. From looking at my spare engine pic it looks like simply connecting the 2 red dots together as there is no turbos to cool and the lines simply to go to the plenum and back can someone just confirm this if you have a NA engine out as i sold mine last night and was meaning to check and confirm this. All the other piping then can be deleted making a very tidy engine :)

Would running a chipped ECU (JWT in my case) be better for fuel consumption or would a standard ECU be better do you reckon? Considering running a standard ECU during the week and if I'm going to be playing with the Zed, change it over for the chipped one.
