Spotted a black zed in car park 15 on Warwick campus about 9:30 today, might still be there.

Can the original factory fitted rubberised rear spoiler be successfully repainted? Mine suffers from the usual cracking/peeling. Has paint technology moved on that allows an improved acceptable finish? I'm aware that fibreglass replacements are available but reckon that it'd be more cost effective to paint original. Your comments, as ever, are much appreciated. Regards

Well, ive now got 2 Zeds. Both have no tax or mot. The one at Zedworld is now running, and hopefully will be ready for an mot this week. The other, is in need of some love, i'd say more so than the other one, but has a lot of nice bits on it. I thought about putting them both on the road, making them both nice, then selling the one an keeping the nicest one for myslef. Im now thinking, how long will that take me, and is there any point. Which brings me to my lastest idea. If the first one will pass its mot, i'll be on the road, so thats the project finished with regards to getting it going. I could then take the good bits off the other one, and mak…

There doesnt seem to be anything on this, so here goes... Just fitted my new steering wheel, but as its a smaller diameter than the stock one and even with the seat set as low as it will go, the top of the wheel still obscures all the dials... In my old MX5 i very successfully did a foamectomy on the seat, and removed about an inch of foam so I sat an inch lower, which is all I'd need to do to the seat in the zed to be able to see the dials. Has anyone removed some foam from the front seat to lower it further?

Finally after two days of bad luck and hardwork i managed to get my car back home. To cut the story short, took a flight to belfast but on the way my wallet was stolen but lucky i put the car money seperately. This indirectly made me miss my ferry back to london. So was totally screwed but was a proud owner of a zed with no money for petrol and no place to stay. Somehow managed to get some money from a friend via a long shot, rebooked the ferry for the next day and left for london on saturday! Short version but was one of the most stressfull days lol However getting of the ferry at liverpool and then driving 4 hours to east london, couldnt stop smiling :D. The car di…

  21. Started by GIBSTER-TT,

Hi all, Another problem i came across today is that my newly installed boost controller has stopped working. I bought it a few years back but have only recently installed it. It was installed a few weeks back and was coming on and working fine. Its power supply is fed from the ECU harness but after doing a few more soldering and wiring to various other parts on the dash it has seemed to have lost power. Does anyone know if they have an inline fuse anywhere? or does the ECU harness is fused? im hoping its either a fuse or a cable fault somewhere from when my mate has been doing other wiring. Any ideas?

  22. Started by GIBSTER-TT,

Ok people before i do this i thought id run it past you guys and see what you think? Im running a stand alone ECU that uses a MAP sensor instead of a MAF. In my build ive had to make custom pipe work up to and from the turbos! The plastic air filter inlet has a pipe where you normally connect the idle control pipe to....Instead of going to the trouble of drilling, cutting and welding an adaptor to my new pipework im thinking of just running a little oil filter to the inlet of the idle control valve. The air drawn in will still be filtered and the valve will still be able to function the same as before. Im sure the AEM ecu doesnt need as much data signals …
