Ok so ive looked all over for this detail and cant find it so just to confirm once and for all for everyone what is the AR on the side of manual turbos? I take it Auto ones are AR 48 but so far i havent found anyone with manual tubs to confirm what the AR is on them Marty

Only the number plate :) so still have the car. Shame really as I always thought the plate finished the car off, but it will help me pay off one of my credit cards. Barry

For those that dont know I have just purchased my old Short wheel base N/A manual back. It has had a slight misfire since getting it back, this happens more when the car is sat ticking over for a couple of minutes and when I go to pull away it takes a few seconds to clear. Today when I went to leave work the car fired briefly and then just turned over and would not fire, very strong smell of fuel although I did not touch the throttle. Normally the car fires into life instantly with the engine not even turning over once. Im guessing this may be MAF but wanted some advice, I have added a couple of pics of an after market filter which has been on the car …

Going to change the clutch soon, not got a 4 post lift, so whats easier pull the engine out to change it or pull the box alone out? Thanks Mark

Need too fix a new manual box havent got a ramp whats it like doing it on the floor i take it i have to get the car up high.Any tips thanks:cool2:

Ok quick one about the above as looking on the search no one has actually posted pics about doing this on a NA engine. From looking at my spare engine pic it looks like simply connecting the 2 red dots together as there is no turbos to cool and the lines simply to go to the plenum and back can someone just confirm this if you have a NA engine out as i sold mine last night and was meaning to check and confirm this. All the other piping then can be deleted making a very tidy engine :)

whats going on with insurance? i just got my renewal , had the z 2 years nothing changed cept we're both 2 years older but insurance more than doubled!!!

Would running a chipped ECU (JWT in my case) be better for fuel consumption or would a standard ECU be better do you reckon? Considering running a standard ECU during the week and if I'm going to be playing with the Zed, change it over for the chipped one.

As above i have the blue wire that controls the aerial to make it go up and down plugged in and the aerial works fine however the signal is crap. The aerial is plugged in as normal but there is also a grey wire with a connector on the end attached to it do i need to stick this anywhere? Or is it just the area im in i wouldnt think it should be that bad i can hardly get radio one its all fuzzy and crackly

Hi, what can cause the engine to run rich? just my mate reckons the car is running running rich but said it wont do any harm, if he is right I would still like it to run right lol. Cheers Mark

hey guys, we have put a carputer in my friends gt4 a few months back, and we just got hold of a GPS receiver, can anyone recommend a good bit of GPS software for use with the touch screen?

after getting the box out last weekend to fix my clutch problem i noticed that the bracket supporting the propshaft about halfway down was a bit loose, the rubber seal around the shaft was split. Is this possible to replace or does it require a new propshaft?

Managed to get the starter motor on today as one of the last things to do and thought id fire her up :) started with no problems and sounded healthy its such a great feeling as a mechanic to have a new engine in and fire up straight away. The silver shorty now has Bobgenies old 1995 engine in so is very healthy. All i need now is the exhaust gaskets to turn up and AC idler bolt and will be ready for MOT oh plus ive gotta swap out the seats and interior but at least i will be able to get it out the garage and moving
