Hi Jim, ok more revealed with the engine running issue, seems the cambelt has skipped on three camshafts, only the o/s inlet one is correct! The worst one been the os exhaust been two teeth retarded, which explains the odd fuel firing down the exhaust on that side, the other two camshaft been one tooth advanced!. basically, the hicas system cuts in at about 75 and gradually turns the wheels further and further right, and right only causing the car to basically crab up the road, the higher the speed the more the angle.... how do i fix this. and/or what is the cause? its definately hicas as when i disconnect the hicas connector in the engine bay (disable hiscas) the problem goes away..

I know it is not a major issue, but does the ignition key double as the rear hatch lock/unlock key or am I missing a key? If I am missing a key, is it easy enough to get a re-cut or will I have to change the lock it's self? Hope someone will shed some light. Thanks, Redwine300

Decided that the decals that were on the Zed when I bought it weren't my idea so didn't want to be driving around in someone else's "Trip" lol. So managed to get them all off today and give it a good wash afterwards! Just need to get some good polish to get the paint looking the same and a good wax after :) Will get some better pictures after a polish/wax :cool3:

Hi Guys Am I right in thinking that the auto shifter isn't actually connected to the gearbox in any way ? Been looking at the ESS Racing SAW product again and was wondering if I could dispense with the shifter and replace it with a simple switched arrangement for selecting 'D' or 'P' which seem to be the two required settings for the SAW to operate. What one would you recommend guys? I like a glossy finish as opposed to matt for the tyres. I have been using Demon Shine detailer and am happy with the results but wondered what you guys recommend for this also. Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know how to change the seal at the outout end of the gearbox? The part is nice and cheap, but it seems that it would be a real tricky job. Any tips or tricks to getting the old one out and a new one in? The box is off at the moment so access sould be easier. Cheers guys

Hey dude, Would you be able to mod one of your fg stock-style spoilers to not have a rear brake light section? So just a flat lip along the top? If yeah, how much bud?

Are there any UK suppliers for such wheels? Genuine or replicas I am not fussed. I have had a look on rarerims.co.uk but cannot find any Work wheels etc. Ideally I am after some polished or chrome 5 spokes that are staggered with a deeper dish on the rear. Thanks, Dan

Hi all, Doesn't the ZX make you feel good? I was slowly reversing out of my parking space in Sainsbury's on Saturday morning, sun out, windows down and targas off...... ......when I looked round to see a very attractive young Indian lady patiently standing behind the ZX. As I gently turned to pull away, she smiled and said "Wow - what a great car!!" It certainly made me smile for the rest of the day!!! Richard:sorcerer:

Well it had to go - the stock horn, that is....... .....on Saturday I bought a Ring "high performance" air-type horn from Halfords. So yesterday I replaced the OEM item. It was a bit fiddley to do given the space issue, but (with a few scratches on my hands) it's now done!! I'm no longer embarassed to honk - it's really not loud and intimidating like the Merc's twin jobbies, but for £14.99 it has definitely made an improvement!! Richard:cool2:

Just a quick question,Santapod have got a rolling road at there event next sunday,i would like to see how healthy my car is,what revs do they take the cars up to ?do all testers rev them to the same limit because you would surely end up with different readings depending on the testers.Hope this is'nt a daft question.

How much would you pay for a second hand set? Reason i ask, is because ive got some in my new zed. I'd be tempted to sell them to put the money into my first zed if it was worth me doing it. Some new ones on ebay from america, £630 plus shipping and taxes. Thats just for the injectors themselves.

  24. Ok, my drivers seat it twisting my spine and poking me in the right kidney! I had the seat out of the car at the weekend and noticed the back rest part is twisted to the left, pointing me towards the centre console. Also, there's something hard poking at me from the right bolster. The seat doesn't go up and down either, something is mechanically broken. I was just living with this for the time being. So, I wondered how easy it is to strip the seat to the skeleton and foam then replace broken parts and rebuild? I'd also remove whatever is poking me. I've noticed lots of seat parts on ebay. It would be easier just to get a new seat I guess,…

My car had its photo shoot today for Banzai next month, it was a great day weather wise and ended up having the photos taken at the top of Portsdown hill for those who know the area. From what I had seen of them on the camera they came out really nice. Great bunch of guys and the Editor is a real nice guy!.. he was saying they would like to feature more of these cars but most had been over done or were tatty, he said mine looked stylish and tasteful in concours condition so it was nice to see, and I thought it was a nice compliment . I plugged everyone I could that I bought bits from or who helped on the car. Fingers crossed that they all end…
