Thought I'd start a separate thread about this particular ECU as it really interested me. The ECU is the Link G4+ and its a direct plug in replacement for the standard zed ECU. General retail price I have been quoted is £910 plus vat which matches up with what I see on ebay. I managed to get a glance of one of these ECU's today as it was getting fitted to a Skyline which apparently uses the same connections as the zed. This is a MAP device so when hooked up properly you can disconnect the standard MAF. Options available that was recommended to me but i'm unsure about is to replace the standard O2 sensors and install new wideband Sensors …

Never done it before, and am reluctant to do so in case it becomes a horrible fiddly job that you get stuck half way through. I have seen a few vids on youtube and there seems so many bolts, clips and lines to remove, so should I leave this job to an experienced hand? Main reason for removal? 1) Have 1 bad injector which I see as a real ballache to remove as the 2 screws that hold it in place have probably been there for 20+ years that will probably end up with stripped heads and without the plenum removed will be impossible to get to! So who's been in the same boat when facing the above? and what would you recommend?

https://www.copart.co.uk/lot/43154028 Shame to see another one off the road. Been over a year since one shpwed up on copart and that one was exported. Clearly not the best example but it is nice to see insurance valued it at £6000. Even insurance agrees our cars are going up

Hello Looking at buying a Z, but as i odnt know much about them I thought I would ask questions about things I dont understand before i go and look at it. I know rust is a massive issue, and just about all the ones iv seen have some form of rust or another on them, but another recurring theme seems to be the rear steering not working. Firstly, am i right in assuming that the rear steering is the HICAS system? I've just seen a Z for sale, but on previous MOT's its been noted that the rear steering does not work (although the rear wheels are held in a substantially straight line and this not affect steering). Its also been noted on another MOT of the sam…

My car has developed a bit of an annoying issue lately... It starts no problem most of the time but occasionally, I'll put the fob in the immobiliser, then go to start the car. At which point it's completely dead. The key also gets stuck in the ignition barrel. I can the leave it for a while and it'll fire up no problem, but I've lost all my radio stations and the clock has reset. Any ideas, I'm thinking an earthing issue somewhere but everything appears OK.

Now if you've not seen what an impressive caliper this then Google Lexus LS430 monoblock, some people say they are better than similar sized Brembo's and being monoblock look a bit different in a good way! Also seem to very popular as a Porsche upgrade: http://944hybrids.forumotion.com/t7-ls430-big-brake-swap I bought a set about a year ago, made all the enquiries with Freakyparts, (big brake specialist), to get them fitted on my Toyota Estima but didn't get the chance to do it. I am.now thinking to send Freakyparts a Zed hub, the LS430 calipers, and either a Skyline R33 GTR / 350Z brake disc or perhaps even a 355mm 370Z brake disc to get the adap…

Just received this car cover today.... Hoping it will stop the weather getting to my car this winter. It fits well and it's 4 layer construction feels like good quality. I'll update this post with my findings over the next few weeks but if anyone is interested in getting one they have 10% off at the moment: https://www.stormcarcovers.co.uk/products/stormforce-car-covers-for-nissan?variant=665923789

If you have ever removed a Zed brake caliper for replacement or painting etc, I have always got annoyed by the brake fluid that can seep from the lines and caliper, recently I sent off a set of Brembo calipers to have painted by Brake Caliper Specialists in Nottingham so had this issue again. So rather than leaving the brake pedal half pressed with a weight or cling film in the brake fluid cap to create a vacuum I have worked out a better solution that avoids brake fluid dripping and creating a mess. 1) To stop the brake calipers from leaking fluid once you remove them buy four of these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/M10-x-1-0p-x-20mm-FINE-PITCH-HEX-SET-BOLTS-…

Not a particularly exciting thread, but anyone with OCD might like it. Had my original wiper arms refurbished years ago and they held up well, still look great. Always fancied a set of UK wipers. Well, a driver side anyway although to make sure they matched, I had both powder coated a matte black. Main issue was to get the plastic spoiler recoated. Took a lot of sanding down to get rid of all the chips and marks that it had picked up on its previous life. I did try using filler at first but decided to spend time smoothing it down completely rather than trying to fill tiny little prone areas. Here it is in its sanded state. Coated with…

Spotted about 10.30. Your rear bumper is flapping around a bit (driver side) looks like you're missing a bolt.

It turns out that the front near side brake line runs beneath the battery tray and sits on a shoulder of the inner wing. It's a moisture trap. There's a dog leg in the way the line is run that puts it right in the wrong place. On Wednesday last week on my way to Halfords to buy a car cover I was on the A3 and my brakes failed COMPLETELY ! The brake line has rusted through and let go with no warning. Mine's an auto so I had to click back to 2 and 1 from D and then into N and apply the handbrake. It's not something I'll want to repeat ! So I would urge everyone - particularly if your car has been standing a while like mine was - to check this line for corrosi…
