was just wandering were the amplifier is for the stereo is or if there even is one as I want to replace it with a better one I have 

i've been toying with the idea of playing with some of this EL stuff (electroluminescent) and im thinking what i could do with it, i want to make a backing for my radio blanking plate (stainless with fairlady laser cut into it) and im thinking of lighting the "300zx" in rear light cluster up. now im thinking what else i could do, i was thinking if i could replace the rear number plate bulbs with a el strip to make it look nice and uniform, and one of the others is to buy this paint it back like OEM and light the Z up? and opinions? ideas on this? my cars getting paint either gold or purple so a dont want any chrome on it. all would be light up blue …

Well got my japspec clocks back off jim, so decided to refit my EL dials and rings onto my UK spec clocks. what a pain in the arse, and im not sure if ive fooked my needles up till the engine is running. Also installed my new momentary switch into the cabin for the extended power switch leads i soldered on to my PC motherboard, going to get another one for the amp on switch that can be seen above it. its a chromed push switch that illuminates with a blue LED, there are some the same on ebay for a shocking £10, but got mine for just £4 posted. wanted a green one for the amps, but cant justify paying £10 for it, so might just get another. i pretty much fully drained teh system when i refurbed the pump and replaced the high pressure lines etc. when i fired it up tonight i filled up the pot and wound it lock to lock and lots of air came out, tyhe pot was rising on full lock and the fluid went fizzy to start with. it has got lightyer but its still VERY heavy. any one got any further suggestions to this, it worked fine before. the erason i took it apart was beacause of a leak.

Hi, Bought the car, and shortley after the clutch started to slip, so toyed with the idea of selling it, but can not bring myself to do it, so dropped it off at a mates and he is going to get the box out, and change the clutch. Then onto the rear arches and sills lol its never ending, lets see if I can keep another uk car on the road lol. cheers Mark

anyone done this, and is it worth doing, done a search but not much came up about folks doing it, and it being worthwhile... want to change mine as well as gearbox oil, as its not been done in 20 yrs... but is it worth it?

just removed my speedo to send to groover for a led conversion :thumbup: so i fitted the one from my dead zed, but the speedo reads completely wrong now, i noticed they have different converters fitted (both are jap spec) it now reads in kph i thijnk either that or i was just doing 100 down the motorway and spo was the police car in front...lol... but starts at 10kph, so standstill = 10kph???? wtf? then reads far too high???

does any one know were i can get detailed pictures on engine dissasembly , as my tt has serious back pressure when u remove dipstick it looks like a steam train chuffing and burning oil smell from exhuast and dipstick tube.http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/images/smilies/modern/taz.gif

Right just got my engine sorted but have been told to prime the turbo's oil feed before doing anything else. What's the best way to do this? I don't want to blow the tubs up :)

I've done a bit of searching on here and have found some info but not a lot I've got a pair of relatively unused GT 675RS tubs on the forged VG that I'm currently stripping in prep for a rebuild, but was wondering if it's worth replacing them with a pair of HKS 2530's I understand that the GT 675RS is Z1's own variation of the HKS 2530 but are there any major differences (apart from the price) lag etc? cheers

Finally after 2 years of work I managed to actually turn the key and see if my engine transplant worked. And........... she started in the time it took the fuel to run from the tank to the injectors :clap:. There was no farting, spluttering clonking tapping and more importantly no dodgy fumes coming out of the exhaust :thumbup: Still have a lot of work to do but I am so chuffed right now. The engine last ran when i went headfirst into a crashbarrier in my old jdm 2 years ago. It's been sat for a year and a half outside under a tarp, before I gave it a service and cam belt change. And to think, before I got my zed's I couldn't even change the oil in a car. It's bee…

Always an interesting day in the workshop, a not seen before item came to our attention, take a look at the engine photo of a n/a see if you can see anthing wrong, there had been a series of running issues caused by bad throttle balance poor temp sensor connection and det sensor issue, however there still remains two faults which are the direct cause of hestitation, very poor mpg, a constant bucking and miss firing feel when driving unless the lightest and slowest of throttle was used. might be a stupid question but how do you fit ducts like car.mad's ones? i want to buy some from him and was just looking my fog is my sidelight? is their a way to fit side lights in to the indicator pods? thanks.
