Here's a short video of my car on the dyno today and just about ready for ten of the best. http://www.facebook.com/advancedmotorsportengineering#!/video/video.php?v=10150311225018899&oid=105250384258&comments This is what I'm getting out on the road. Dan spent a few hours on the dyno yesterday and today looking for more useable power and I'm satisfied with this. We saw 580 rwhp yesterday without the NOS!!!

Anyone know of someone/somewhere which will repair the speedo on the 300zx? I seem to have b@llsed mine up by removing the needle - Oops! Gave Speedy Cables a call, but they weren't sure without looking at it and quoted £80-£120 plus vat and delivery anyway.........

Decided today was the day to get the cats and exhaust off my red wreck, they are last bits I need off it then it can be scrapped and off the car park. However didn't go to plan. Cats are in a shit state and can't really be used on my blue Zed, so that pissed me off. So moved the trolley jack so I could get to the cat back bit better, only to realise half way up that the jack was not sitting right so bent the thing beyond use :censored: So now need to get a new jack so I can bin the car before going away next week for 4 months.

Bought this from ebay at Jeffs suggestion but its not supplied with clips ! its fairly stirdy as is; as the hoses push it in tight but is there any brackets that can be bought to fully support the top end of the radiator ?

Basically i split the break vacuum hose and put on a one way valve, can anybody tell me if this is ok to do it this way before i drive it home ! Clutch seems to work ok and breaks are ok too but just need another confirmation thats its ok.

Having seen a few threads asking how to use a timing light on your zeds and what type of light I took a few pics today to show this and how easy it is. So starting with the light type, the Draper one shown here is an induction xenon light, prices range from £20 to £40 so well worth looking around Ebay is the best place. The unit is designed to collect its trigger signal from HT leads via the clamp sensor, of course our zeds use direct coil packs so there are no plug leads, but no worries as the coil packs emit emf (electric magnetic fields / force ) each time they trigger and the timing light sensor can pick up this and use it to flash the xenon light a…

Hey, I have lots of play on the lower arm ball join bush, the rubber is finished and there is a lot of play in it, easy MOT failure. Anyway, please can someone tell me if can I replace the bush alone, or will it have to be the whole ball joint, or worse still - the whole lower arm (wishbone)? Cheers!

Who used to have their zed parked up on Becher Rd, Bournemouth?? I remember seeing it when i first came down to bournemouth 5yrs ago to see my missus, i would see it each time i came down. It was this zed that inspired me to get one myself. it's now gone tho, so was wondering if anyone knew who's it was and where it went?

OK, here is a couple of videos showing my smokey Zed. It only happens at idle from the right hand bank BUT it don't happen every time. The PC Valves were changed and have now covered over 500 miles, its de-catted and has an aftermarket exhaust. I have a set of cats to put on it to see what happens. Now I'm sure turbo seals are going to be commented about, all I ask is we look outside the box at other possibilities, ones that can be fixed on my driveway. Is it possible it could be oil deposits in the intercoolers, exhaust pipes etc? pPTvwHj0tFM 58dRSoY-xK4 Cheerz, Rob

Well today thought id get under the car and have a look at getting the exhaust off, was nicely surprised to find that its got a full japspeed system on including divorced waist gate downpipes. so no elbows. Well was looking over the car as i had done before, checking out the welding that i know about, when i came across this. at first glance it looks ok, but then i realised that it has smear marks in it where someone has fillered, give it a slight press and could hear the filler cracking slightly. Give you an idea of where this is on the car, thats the front wheel on the right of the image, and you can see the vents of my wing. Not sure i want t…

Something someone said yesterday is making me wonder, are the rear housing (bit that bolts to manifold and also the elbows) the same size on the manual turbos as they are on the auto turbos? If so crisis averted as i have a spare set of housing on the car at the moment

Just a quick thanks to Jeff and Jamie for fixing a few problems with my Z. She boosts like a rocket now and that's with the settings tweaked down for safety. Also my first brake upgrade after 8 years were fitted - 330ml discs and 8-pot calipers (thanks ZX-TT Craig). Just need the last bit of surface rust to be scrubbed off. The knackered mossy old fog lights were removed and replaced with ducts (thanks Car.Mad Dave) - perfect colour match too! The rust in the engine bay was cut out and plates welded in so that's something I don't have to worry about any more. And I just got her home in time to get her to the Ashby Folville car meet where she can show off her new ducts and…

Now what? lol Ive been looking all over the web for a write up, and every thing I've seen so far, involves the initial question followed by a load of people saying how hard it is to get around corners and what not. Now all im doing is my roof bars, so wont need to worry about getting around dodgy angled bends. Will be going down to the car in a min to template the back of the vinyl ready for cutting (yes i know to leave some over hang) Now im not sure if i really need to do any stretching as its just the bars. also would a hair dryer do for heating? cant really get the car indoors plus get electric too it. and there really isnt any step by step …
