Has anyone ever experimented with any aftermarket braces for the zed. i was thinking along the lines of the nismo powerbrace (200sx) and perhaps a x brace type thing locating all the front suspension points. i will be making one up out the back a brace could be made up to locate the rear of the transmission tunnel to the subframe pickups. just an idea i was also thinking of making up a solid disc to replace the rubber disk in the steering columb, this again is popular on the s13

Just thought I'd post up about this guy I've found who makes custom instrument dials and multi-information digital gauges. Got to say he's got to be one of the most helpful guys I've ever dealt with, answers all emails and happy to explain about what his units can do (which he seams to pretty much be able to programme anything into them). I'm going for a 20x4 panel LCD unit which show multi information at once, has alarms which will alert you when you go over peak settings. Pretty much seams to be the perfect system for me as I don't want loads of gauges in my other car. I'll be popping down to see him in the next few weeks and then ordering a unit. Will post up…

Yesterday the Zed did a 800km trip without a single problem. Started in Andover, then via Basingstoke arrived in Dover. Quick trip over the splosh and next stop was home, Gutersloh in Germany. Purred all the way there, only problem the fuel gauge goes down quite quickly LOL. On the down side there's still smoke from the right hand exhaust :censored:, only on idle and not every time, very strange !

Spot on recommendation by Marty (Gonzo12c) to go with Lynbrook on a classic car policy for the SWB TT. I was expecting a quote of about £300 but they came back and offered me £194 fully comprehensive, needless to say we took it which is a bargain if you ask me

to de clutter the dashboard. as some of you know i run a ipaq pda with ecu talk software to give me extra gauges fed info direct from the ecu it also allows me to run basic diagnostics on the car without carrying around a laptop. now as i was using a windowscreen holder i didnt like the cluttered look, having a little brain wave and seeing others putting single gauges in the door vent i decided to see if i could squeeze the screen behind that. now rob came to the rescue when i advertised on here for a spare one and the sod wouldnt accept any cash even for postage!! cheers dude your a legend! anyway i have been messing about with it over the last couple o…

Having had my wheels painted the other day, I had a close look at the rear tyres on the car. They have worn absolutly bang on the money evenly but they are getting close to the wear markers. Now I cant be bothered to go and look but I am 95% sure they are 275/35/18 on the rears - problem is the cheapest I can find per tyre around £200 (some cheap brand), and I cant find Falken 452's in that size either at any price. But I can find 265/35/18's Falken 452's for £142 each. Will I be ok to have this slightly narrower tyre fitted? I'm aware that it will have a minimal stretch but its hardly the dangerous VW scene is it?!

Right guys and girls, I am seriously considering selling my Slicktop. For no other reason than I fancy something else. Something with a retractable roof  So I would appreciate some advice with regards to how best go about this. Firstly, is this in your opinion the best/first place to advertise? My feeling is that most people have Zeds' and are here for advice/help/parts/banter, not looking to buy. Secondly, if it was your car would you spend money making sure everything was 'perfect' ? In that I mean refurbing a wheel if it has a 1" kerb rub etc. Thirdly, and this is my Zed specific, would you offer any potential buyers a couple of bodywork optio…

Went out this Saturday to pick up my brushed aluminium dial bezel from Maz and he let me drive his shorty N/A. Lovely car to drive, completely different to the TT. I think I'd have a shorty N/A, so long as I had a TT LWB :D Then headed over to Wakey to see JohnnyBoy, who gave me the little plastic clip thingy that I needed to fix Roses drivers door lock and a radiator cap cos mine's buggered, plus also a couple of hours of quality conversation :D Haven't stood and talked to anyone like that for ages, so cheers Johnny. Both Awesome members and if Johnny goes through with selling off his convertible as well, I only hope he stays in touch, would be a real shame to …

Hi all, At the last Scottish KFC meet (last Wednesday), I had the opportunity to see the boot area of Ossian's Zed.........nothing untoward there you say. On comparing my boot "boards" it would appear that, what I thought was standard fit - is most definitely not. I have three fairly heavy vinyl covered metal boards instead of the hardboard ones. The same kind of vinyl covered aluminium? is present in the passenger's footwell, protecting the ECU. Then I compared the standard targa covers against mine, again, a custom job. Foam padded , vinyl/leatherette? Lastly, the auto gear knob.....leather stiched? Can anyone shed any light on these items or are th…

Well the old Hilux has gone to a new home and we have a new family member a tidy black 1995 300zx SWB TT manual This shortie' is absolutely mint underneath and is a credit to its former keepers. Quite a contrast to her big brother sat on axle stands in the background feeling sorry for himself. First job on the 'to do' list was to swap over the Nismo steering wheel for the uber' rare, limited edition 'OZ Racing' Personal steering wheel out of the track zed. The feel on this is much better for me, than with its leather predesessor. I was going to change the Momo gear knob over but half way through I figured that I actually quite liked it and …

Hey i have been looking over google and cant find what i need therefore im pretty sure someone on here will be in the trade or know where to get these from. I need to basically put a spacer in between a bracket and the seat im screwing into. There is 10 mm gap to cover so i was either thinking of using something like what you see in the pic which would be best or simply a cylindrical metal spacer. Thread is 8mm and just cant find the threaded pillars in 8mm thread as i only need 8 of them. So to recap the gap to cover is 10mm and the thread on the seat is 8mm and ideal if the pillar is 8mm too. Marty

Seems a popular expression we hear often and I see just as often right here, it is when parts are been requested for and asked if there are any "kicking around" ? Well had me thinking why would we be treating parts like this and if we did would you guys still buy them? I think I have the answer! and by the power of the Internet and some dodgy photo-shop work we have some famous and some less famous sports player`s endorsing our very own Nissan 300zx air flow meters and in the now commonly used term they certainly are "kicking around" Jeff TT

Last year I posted some pics of how the lower rad hose can fail internally and gets sucked in, again an example of this is clear to see, I know this is not a new problem but well worth checking, best to check 30 mins or so after a run to see if this is effecting your zed, we all know how serious it can be if cooling issues are left unchecked. Hi My Zed TT developed a hissing noise - this started suddenly last night after a trip to Birmingham - no prob on the way down, when I restarted the car I got this sound that is just like air blowing from a vent (like you would hear on a plane from the aircon vents) it's especially noticable when the car is ticking over or you let of the throttle on gear change You can't really hear if from under the bonnet - with the car ticking over it sounds like it is coming from under or around the driver side foot well - you can't really hear it from the passenger side Car running OK but seems rather lumpy on tickover now with revs lower than usual. Turn off the en…
