Hi guys. ive got a few problems as the title suggests!! First off im getting a burning oil smell after driving for a while. checked on ramp and only oil leak i had was with the driver side turbo oil return. ive since changed the gasket but still got smell. Annoying!! Next since fitting my apexi induction kit ive been getting a whining noise from the engine bay. may be coincidental but could this be worn turbos? There is absolutely no smoke when cold, when warm or when under heavy boost. ive also got boost jets and my stock gauge reads over 14psi which ive heard is normal due to stock gauge bein pants!! but recently ive noticed what seems to be a power decrease. it just do…

Just completed my manual conversion and boy did I enjoy the run home, as short a run as it was; it's the most fun I've had in my zed in a long time! So, Before leaving the garage I ran a quick consult. Timing on conzult was siting at 5 but then remembering the neutral switch I wired to the ecu from the gear box I pushed the clutch down and shifted her into gear and timing shot to 15. Regarding timing should the base idle be adjusted at an idle of 5 in neutral or should I be getting somebody to hold it in gear while I adjust it. I'm only guessing 15 is the correct timing so can anyone confirm this too. Cheers

This is what i'm thinking at the minute. I know you all think i'm mad and should keep it lol but hear me out :flowers: I am pretty much made up in my mind that it's time for something different. Although i have just filled up with motion lotion and been for a really nice drive, I am going to sort the hatch as per the other thread, and I will also get the front bumper re-done. Losing the jdm parking mast, colour coding it but with fog ducts in the anthracite colour to match the wheels. I will have a major (60/120k) service done as I already have the parts so it's just labour cost. This will mean the car is perfect handling/bodywork/service wise, b…

My handbrake on the UK zed is stretched as far as it can, no more adjustment, the handbrake is pointing to the targas ive adjusted the rear shoes on the hubs, but the cable is at full extent. I have a spare on my jap TT,which is not adjusted and locks brake at half way up. is it worth 1. removing just the front section from handbrake to where it becomes two cables. 2 removing the complete cable, front, and rear sections from the hubs 3 get a brand new set from nissan, but would think they are lots of cash. Anyone had to do the same?

Here's a short video of my car on the dyno today and just about ready for ten of the best. http://www.facebook.com/advancedmotorsportengineering#!/video/video.php?v=10150311225018899&oid=105250384258&comments This is what I'm getting out on the road. Dan spent a few hours on the dyno yesterday and today looking for more useable power and I'm satisfied with this. We saw 580 rwhp yesterday without the NOS!!!

Decided today was the day to get the cats and exhaust off my red wreck, they are last bits I need off it then it can be scrapped and off the car park. However didn't go to plan. Cats are in a shit state and can't really be used on my blue Zed, so that pissed me off. So moved the trolley jack so I could get to the cat back bit better, only to realise half way up that the jack was not sitting right so bent the thing beyond use :censored: So now need to get a new jack so I can bin the car before going away next week for 4 months.

Bought this from ebay at Jeffs suggestion but its not supplied with clips ! its fairly stirdy as is; as the hoses push it in tight but is there any brackets that can be bought to fully support the top end of the radiator ?

Having seen a few threads asking how to use a timing light on your zeds and what type of light I took a few pics today to show this and how easy it is. So starting with the light type, the Draper one shown here is an induction xenon light, prices range from £20 to £40 so well worth looking around Ebay is the best place. The unit is designed to collect its trigger signal from HT leads via the clamp sensor, of course our zeds use direct coil packs so there are no plug leads, but no worries as the coil packs emit emf (electric magnetic fields / force ) each time they trigger and the timing light sensor can pick up this and use it to flash the xenon light a…

Hey, I have lots of play on the lower arm ball join bush, the rubber is finished and there is a lot of play in it, easy MOT failure. Anyway, please can someone tell me if can I replace the bush alone, or will it have to be the whole ball joint, or worse still - the whole lower arm (wishbone)? Cheers!

Who used to have their zed parked up on Becher Rd, Bournemouth?? I remember seeing it when i first came down to bournemouth 5yrs ago to see my missus, i would see it each time i came down. It was this zed that inspired me to get one myself. it's now gone tho, so was wondering if anyone knew who's it was and where it went?

OK, here is a couple of videos showing my smokey Zed. It only happens at idle from the right hand bank BUT it don't happen every time. The PC Valves were changed and have now covered over 500 miles, its de-catted and has an aftermarket exhaust. I have a set of cats to put on it to see what happens. Now I'm sure turbo seals are going to be commented about, all I ask is we look outside the box at other possibilities, ones that can be fixed on my driveway. Is it possible it could be oil deposits in the intercoolers, exhaust pipes etc? pPTvwHj0tFM 58dRSoY-xK4 Cheerz, Rob

Well today thought id get under the car and have a look at getting the exhaust off, was nicely surprised to find that its got a full japspeed system on including divorced waist gate downpipes. so no elbows. Well was looking over the car as i had done before, checking out the welding that i know about, when i came across this. at first glance it looks ok, but then i realised that it has smear marks in it where someone has fillered, give it a slight press and could hear the filler cracking slightly. Give you an idea of where this is on the car, thats the front wheel on the right of the image, and you can see the vents of my wing. Not sure i want t…
