Quick question, has anyone removed the ABS on there zed?? if so has it caused any problems? Also can anyone confirm that the rear brake pipes enter into the rear floor section for the abs pump only?? or is there another reason they are tucked up behind rear subframe?? cheers in advance

  11. Hi Folks, So for the last year, I have been convinced that I was going for the much loved white for the colour change on a SWB slicktop, from gunmetal grey, with a black roof and engine bay. I had set my sights on Ford Frozen White. I have already done the engine bay and roof Toyota Satin Metallic, and I reckon it looks ok. The intent was to keep the car standard (ish) and put a dark tint on the rear and rear quarter glass to match the roof, and maybe subtle carbon wrap on the roof rails, and / or the window guides on the doors (between the front and rear side windows). BUT.... I reckon white is getting too common around these parts. Everybody is at…

  13. Right, haven't managed to get a pic yet, but in this diagram you can see what I'm talking about. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=26120 Top right, straight across to the left of the number 19 against the wing. It's a rectangular box bolted to the wing, about 5cm by 10cm has an electrical plug going into the underneath as well as a rubber pipe, which has split on mine and is causing a boost leak. Any idea what it is and where I can get a replacement pipe? Any help is greatly appreciated!

new engine is here, so thought id get cracking on removing the EGR, anyway noticed that my turbo elbows had studs snapped with not enough on them to get a bolt on when it comes to putting the exhaust on. So decided to remove the elbows while i was there, to replace with the ones of my current engine, the two nuts holding the elbow on at the bottom, came off easy on both sides, the two top bolts on both sides how ever, just snapped with little to no pressure being applied. so now the only way i have of securing the elbows is with the lower bolts. Short of taking the turbos off and changing the housing over for the outlet and as im crap at drilling things out, w…

  20. Yep, Jim'll Fix It has made another dream come true! After many months of being Zedless, I took my first drive in the Zed today. A five hour journey on public transport got me down to Bristol to collect the car from Jimmer's unit. So you can imagine my delight when I clapped eyes on my car looking as shiny as a new pin, engine purring quietly  For anyone considering going down the rebuild route, all I can say is - you will not be disappointed! The car was sent off by transporter a little over 5 weeks ago and is now in the rudest of health once again. In a world that seems hell bent on scamming and generally robbing you of your hard-earned, its ex…

In theory would a SWB TT be slightly quicker 0-62 in a straight line, than an identically spec'd LWB TT and would the SWB have a shorter braking distance? **does anybody have any real world experience of a similar comparison (spec for spec) cheers

So my new Z came with these 4 pot rear lights: Which had been blended in, a very good job but unfortunately I prefer the look of the standard lights. They'd been stuck on with this fillery type stuff and were a pain in the arse to remove! not to mention they were holding an awful lot of water with nowhere to go! Once removed I cleaned up all the pesky filler, painted the bits where it was down to bare metal then fitted my '99 style lights, which I feel look loads better. But now I cant decide if it looks weird without a spoiler or not? What do you think? Might be time to blow the dust off the dspeed spoiler I have and get it fitted…

following on from my recent post im still only getting 0.5 bar boost. I got a leak tester off anthonyd () and i managed to find 1 loose jubile clip which i have now sorted. however im still only getting 0.5 bar?????????? So in short i have no boost leaks, no error codes (with and without turning ignition off), greddy boost gauge and still only have 0.5 bar? could it be weak actuators? or could the turbos been turned down by previous owner??? thanks for your help
