Hi there all, Since joining back in 2008 I've been living in Germany. Everytime I've been back its either been without a car or in the 350Z. Well next week I'll be in a proper Zed car and want to meet up with some of you lot. So I propose a weeknight next week at a pub for a few cokes and maybe a bite to eat so I can get some inspiration for my car and generally bang the world to rights LOL. I've seen this place as a possible venue however I am open to suggestions. http://www.vintageinn.co.uk/thefisherspondeastleigh/findus/ Tuesday / Wednesday is good for me but again can be flexible, I am back with work after all. Hopefully see some of you s…

Would like to ask what may seem a daft question, but when aiming for High power, is it necessary to have a larger diameter exhaust? my current setup is decat-downpipes with 2 free flowing JDM 4.5 inch single exhaust back box tips. with this being my daily driver, at night this is abit loud so bought a mongoose 2x3 inch double exit quad system, will this be free flowing enough for 500HP + potential, or am i better off not fitting it?

Had a look at removing my rear lights today, its got the 4-pot light conversion which has been well fitted, but unfortunately I really dont like it. When I say well fitted I mean its all blended into the body - I had a look from behind and its got yellowy-greeny stuff that it seems to be held in with, as you can see where the excess bits have started to drip out. Can someone tell me what it is and whats the best way to remove it? Its solidified and pretty tough getting through with a knife. I'd rather not knacker the light panel as I'd be wanting to sell it on when I've fitted my new lights.

Well for me anyway! My drivers window glass had a big scratch all the way down, fortunately for me I had an O/S UK spec drop glass 'in stock' :whistling: I've removed a couple of window regulators/motors/glasses from breakers before but thats easy just undoing things until they fall out, its different when you have to rebuild it lol. I've always feared the day I've have to change one myself. Got the door card off in about 2 mins (well trained at that) but to my suprise, 20 mins later I'd got the new glass in place and tested and door card back on! :cool3: It was one of those jobs that made me proud that I'd achieved it and not scared of them anymore!…

Right im looking at these new alloys. they are an offset of 35rear and 30 fronts At the min mine are 40 rear with 275/30/19 and 30 front 245/35/19 , So i know that i can have the same size tyres on the front but what about the rears or will the fail on the arch?? they are tight as they are now With it being 35 vs 40 does that mean the 35 will fill the arch more by pushing the alloy outwards???

Yesterday coming back from Supercar Sunday I got stuck in traffic and my oil temp slowly crept up to just under 100 degrees celcious, I could tell that the car was very hot, the clutch didnt feel right and I was getting some puffs of blue smoke out of the exhaust whilst idling. My question is, what temperature is the oil safe to climb to in my 300zx tt? Cheers, Dan

Hello, Can anybody out there shed some light on this for me? I have a uk 92 300zx tt lwb, And have noticed recently alot of steam coming from both exhausts, ( starts about a minute after start up ) If left idling it will persist for a very long time, If however i take it for a run there is no sign of the steam on my return, I was thinking it must be condensation but if the car is restarted a couple of hours after a good run the steam returns, Surely it all should have been dispersed? I tried removing a back box to see if there was any differance, And there wasn't, Also I'm not losing any coolant, Thanks in advance …

sorry this has probably been asked loads of times before, but which downpipes fit an auto? (TT) all the ones i've looked at are for manual only, i have a powerflow system at the moment but i want to change to my single exit but the power flow downpipes and cat back are all part of one system. any ideas? ill swap my power flow system for a good set of after market auto downpipes lol.

I guess it's always done this but since I changed my wheels it seems more noticeable and I think it's getting worse. When I go over a bump, (Scottish roads being in the state they are means this happens a lot!), the rear of the car shimmys a bit. I can only think it's like bump steer on the back. As I say it's getting quite disconcerting and I'm getting a little uneasy with the car's straight line stability at motorway speeds. I had the car four way alligned when I has new Hicas arms fitted under a year ago. So is this common/expected or do I need the car realligned or is it time for a Hicas deletion?

ive done the rears, took about 2 hours odd including stripoping all the boot out, the first side took about twic eas long as teh second side, because i knew the method. but looking at the fronts what? im a little confused, it looks like i can quiote simply undo the strut top and bottom undo the central bolt and lift out sideways. but that seems far too simples. any advise? other thing, how important ar ethe gaskets on the top i dont have new ones to hand atm, and didnt fit any on the rear. (prepared for an asking there.) also how tight should the bolts be done up, ive done the rear up pretty darn tight with a 1" socket and spanner. but they arnt torqued up. i suppose i sh…
