Hi boffins !!! I have spoken with Groover about being offered a new V8 engin. I am considering doing the conversion but have little mechanical knowlege. But I want to do this as a project. My zed has a good working engin and gearbox on a 1994 UK manual TT with good turbos and uprated injectors to 555. (327 on rolling road) I may as well sell these as I cant have two engins in same car.......(mmmmm.. could I ) nope, not worth considering..lol. I am getting the full speck on the engin (no gearbox with V8) and will look at cost before I finally make a decision. Is there anyone in the South of England who has done this and who may be available for a chat please…

can I make a suggestion twice now you have wasted my time by wanting to buy something you obviously cannot afford. In future may I suggest you make sure you have money on paypal before buying, because disappearing for weeks at a time or using the excuse that you didn't get to the bank in time is just rubbish. OK so lets update. Car went to garage had reconditioned gearbox fitted. I've had the throttle bodies cleaned Ive had the connector to the idle control valve changed over to spade connectors as mine was very green indeed.. It still tries to stall sometime not as much as it did originally. - Before I could not even drive the car down the road so there is massive improvement. I can at least take her out. Took here on a 20 mile trip. Stalled once when breaking gently behind cars at lights. Then going about 45 - 50 mph just cut out. Bit blooming dodgy in the wet. Pulled over - put her in P and started again. Now I do get the POWER light come …

made a start on fitting me coilovers but could do with couple bits of advise, firstly do i need to use the upper plate off the old front suspension for the new ones? 2nd despite fitting the rear shocks and matching the same distance on the coilovers the drivers rear is about the right height but the passengers rear is right up in the arch and rubbing the wheels! wound it up and it doesnt make that much difference! thought they would both be the same distance apart if you know what i mean!:confused1: dan.:sweatdrop:

Afternoon Just tryin to find someone to mot my zed, but the back tyres are always bald on the inside. Garage told me he can only adjust camber etc if I give him all the settings. He also said : 1. Its modified so he needs to know what suspension has been lowered. 2. Its got spacers on rears.... this will affect it 3. Not standard wheel widths.... He says nobody can even begin to look at it until they get all the settings for my complete setup. Another garage pretty much said same, cant keep replacing back tyres every 1000 miles. Anyone know anyone local (Sheffield) who has adjusted a modified car... Also any decent mot centres about...…

Yes, Yes and Yes.... Phoned the garage yesterday and they said the z should be ready this morning. I've had a reconditioned gearbox fitted - They said it pulls great now. Ive had the main oil seal done and they say the stalling issue has been sorted out. So cant wait to get to garage at 9am this morning. 1st time I can actually drive it. Cant wait very eager....ill try and get some pictures up soon. Its standard, 91 H import. 68,000 on the clock - body work - no rot. slight very small dink in centre of bonnet and drivers door has a scratch. That seems to be the worst on it cosmetically. regards Dave

Finally today, 3 days later than planned, my Z is fully MOT'd and Taxed again. Took it for a drive to the Shell station, filled it up, got a quote for getting the sills painted and dropped some food off for the missus at work, then came home and fixed my drivers side power door locking (Thanks to Yowser for pointing me at the 2wire solenoid kit on ebay, worked a treat) and then drained my rad (Still had some flush in it) and bled the cooling system the old fashioned way, nose up, arse down, running, with no rad cap and the heater on. Not bad for a day I reckons. :D Unfortunately the heater still doesn't work, but I have a few more drains to do to completely flush the…

After a long time sitting I have finally found the motivation to get my.Z finished. It is running an AEM with dual uego wideband. It has the tendency to cut out when returning to idle and has a cough at about 2500rpm sometimes. Is there anyone that would be willing to map the system? I don't mind travelling anywhere in the uk to get this done right!

still trying to get to the bottom of my smoking problem on the zed, it only does it from the drivers exhaust, on tick over and when the car is warm, can get quite bad if ticking over for a while, i've replaced both pcv valves and pipes with silicone and did a oil change 2/3 weeks ago as oil was pretty thin and dirty, turbos were also replaced around 4 years ago(car has done 8000 miles since), never had any probs with dipstick being blown out or oil in the intake pipes but before i did pcv valves passenger pcv valve was oiled up quite bad and was quite a oily mess when the pipe was removed smoke however does look blue as oil burning, it never effected emissions on mot and …
