Well...sadly my Zed is now SORNED and sitting on my dads drive (wouldn't last long on mine). I have a 2.0 Galant estate which is different, very roomy and comfortable (except for the amazingly high accelerator pedal...my Achilles tendon is an inch longer now!), but it ain't no Zed. Next year the welding begins on the big nightmare hole discovered underneath. http://300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=154249 So wondered if anyone can suggest a MIG welder. I've had a little Oxy-Acetylene welding experience, but that's about it. My dad is buying it, he intends to weld all kinds of thing. Looking at around £250, with the ability to weld larger g…

Hi all, The car has had a PRVR delete and possibly AIV too, I need to have another proper look. Do these pipes look like something that was once attached to those systems? Basically want to get rid of them. Cheers

Hi Guys, Ok, so this post was going to be "another Zed back on the road" type thing. It's a long story that I won't bore you with right now, but after six years of sitting in my garage, I've finally got the Zed fixed. Almost... It's had two new turbos, water pump, clutch, engine mounts, cam belt and tensioners. I picked it up a couple of weeks ago and it felt amazing, I felt confident that nothing would let me down as there's nothing left to go wrong. (I know, I know......!) So after about 30 miles, I noticed the temperature gauge quickly rising. Stopped and got it recovered only to find no water in the cooling system. The garage took it back, pressure test…

hi everyone, Doing the suspension and I can't get some of the bolts off. Tried WD40 and extension bars but still no joy. Anyone got any tips on getting them off? It's the tension rod bolts on the bottom arm and the upper camber arm bolt nearest the inner wing that's being a pain in the ass. Cheerz, Rob

Hello, I have changed my standard radiator to after market hi-flow rad. Question is - do i keep original viscous fan (from water pump) or thin fan which came with radiator? (same as in pic). After market one is on electric wiring, where do i connect him? Is he going to be constantly on?

Last night at about 9'ish I was heading back to Hereford from the Abergavenny roundabout when I stopped at the road works traffic lights; they're re-doing some of the main road, anyway the lights turn green so I'm off getting up to 60mph when I hear a horrendous bang at the rear left! After thinking that I'd run over a freakin' cow the zed seemed to handle fine apart from a bit of a buzzing noise from the rear left quarter. Got home alright and took a quick walk around the back of the car, nothing obvious found. Anyway this morning I'm heading back down the same stretch of road and stop at the same set of road works traffic lights; albeit heading in the opposite direction…

Hi guys, What do you reckon on this one, When driving if i put my car say in 3rd while going slow and put my foot down, it starts to build up power but as soon as my turbo gauge hits maximum boost it starts hesitating, popping, and backfiring. It revs fine, then you can watch the turbo gauge build up to it hits the top of the standard gauge,(running 14psi have after market gauge too.)and as soon has it hits full boost the car plays up, But if i rev it normally say hold it in gear its fine, only does it when in a gear where your down low in the revs and try to build up power, Hope that makes sense, Any help appreciated, thank you.

I'll be getting the same garage that sorted my brakes last week to replace the clutch, it's been slipping for a while now. I was wondering if it would make sense to have the garage swap the OEM flywheel for a lightened one at the same time? What would be a rough labour cost on this? cheers

Had a tailgate tub, dodgy rear spoiler and a shite kit and round LED rear lights. Cheers for nearly wiping my front end out when you decided to floor it on the roundabout and go side ways totally out of control in the wet :cursing::cursing: Do yourself a favour and stick to FWD.

Morning All, Rather than ask stupid questions you have all been asked a million times i searched and found a very helpful post entitled "buying guide for 300zx". That has gone some way to helping me understand the cars little nuances and expectations. I do however have a couple of quick questions to try to establish whether the car is behaving "Normally". as i have no frame of reference by which to compare it to. Its also worth mentioning that this car has a lot of aftermarket modifications.. all done by Z World in Tamworth according to the extensive service history. A little background for you all. Its a late 1990 Plate, 154k on the c…
