I was a little worried my car had developed an issue recently, so today I took it to Zedworld and recieved their world-class helpfullness and hospitality yet again. As it turned out there wasn't any issue at all - everything is in fine fettle, but at least now my mind has been put at rest. Despite being there over an hour, Jeff refused to take a penny off me. I cannot think of another garage/business who would be this helpful and kind. I know you can't expect this kind of treatment everytime you visit Zedworld, but I can honestly say I wouldn't take my car anywhere else! Jeff and the team have done it again, so many, many thanks to you all. All the best, Leo

As above. The clutch is on it's way out, but apart from a bit of slipping now and again, gear change is fine, so doesn't really need to be replaced immediately however I've noticed recently that there's an annoying metalic grinding noise, especially when in nuetral at slow speeds (ie. when slowing down at traffic lights) Initially I thought that it might be that the brake pads had worn down and would need replacing (that's what the grinding noise reminds me of) but they are all fine, with plenty of pad left on them. I had a look underneath this evening and didn't find anything unusual. The exhaust system looks pretty much new from front to rear though …

The instructions to put the HICAS in diagnostic mode specify putting the car in neutral, is this just to prevent the wheels from turning, or is it needed for the diagnostic procedure? The reason I ask, is I didn't connect up the neutral switch when I did my manual conversion, I just adjusted the timing accordingly...

IIRC, there are a few letters, or memos etc. that people have printed out and taken with them to their MOT, I think one to do with emissions, and maybe one to do with a small amount of play in a ball joint or something? After 5 and a half years, I shall be taking her for an MOT this week :) I was wondering if anyone has a link to any, or all of these things, I would like to take as much ammunition with me as possible to ensure a pass :) Cheers, Tudor...

I found this and was wondering if it's applicable to Zeds? (it was regarding a part for a skyline but its exactly the same part, does this relate to the Engine Control Unit ECU , Gearbox ECU, ABS ECU:- About ECUs You will find on the market either ECUs sold singly; ECU + transponder; + key. If you find the full set: ECU (must be correct part numbers) with its transceiver and key (with transponder in) - you will be able to fully replace with your full set, without further programming of the ECU. But full sets are not always available. If you buy the ECU on it’s own – it is usually transferrable but will need programming to match your vehicle’s security system…

Hi all, I have come to drain your knowledge again please, 1) Will an ECU from a jap import fit and work in a UK/US model? 2) Vice Versa? 3) I'm assuming that TT and NA would be different? 4) I'm assuming that Auto & Manual would be different? 5) Is it only the chip inside that is different for all the above? Cheers :) A glass of Robinsons blackcurrent is up for grabs Gota get you interested somehow :detective:

Been busy again today and sorted my rattling windows out with new pins and slider rollers.i took the door trim panel off to do the drivers side, as I removed the control box thingy for the electric windows and re-soldered the loosr connection on the circuit board whilst I was at it.also removed the window guide to clean all the accumulated crap out of the groove and lubed it so the window slides easily. The passenger side was easier, I just removed the top seatbelt mount and the top two pieces of trim and unscrewed the window guide pin with a pair of long-nosed pliers, replaced the new guide pin and roller in the same way and put everthing back on.had to put a new nut…
