We are looking to finish our bolt-on diffusers (2+0 and 2+2 versions) for the UK market and we need one last thing...What are the exact dimensions for the number plate area on the rear bumper? The american/japanese number plate dimensions on the rear bumper are 36cm x 18cm as you can see on the pics: Hope you guys can help us with this dimensions, since it's very important for to make the diffusers fit right on the UK spec Z's.

Big thanks to Jeff and Jamie for sorting the water leak on my zed. Took a while. It was the four or five inch heater matrix hose that had a leak caused by an overtightened jubilee clip cutting into it. Who the eff put that on ? Then JAn's zed was in for an MOT Jamie said oooh pads llok a bit low. Spot on Jamie, flew through and he won a fitting for new pads all round. Thank you Zedworld

If I was a day later, this car would have been on a scrap pile, which would have been a great shame. But I've now expanded my Z collection with the addition of this rather pretty pearl white NA. I had to remove the front bumper to tow it back. Its really tidy and had some money spent on it, but its not all gravy, as the engine is knackered, as is the gearbox and also the radiator! (thats probably down to the wrong top hose!!! :slap: ) the exhaust has been sold as had a couple of interior trim panels but I've already fitted new ones. I have an engine and manual gearbox 'in stock' hence the reason I'm gonna repair this one up! :thumbu…

I've just had a blether with my engine builder and thought i'd see what your opinions are. I'm having a full engine rebuild and will be running HKS GT2510s. These are complete with HKS elbows. Before i got my hands on the HKS tubs i got a nice set of Z1 4 bolt split downpipes. These are obviously now useless as i need 5 bolt downpipes for the HKS tubs. Anyhoos, i was going to try and get a set of the Z1 5 bolt split downpipes. My engine builder told me not to bother - the HKS elbows will be fine. From his experience, unless i'm hoping to run 1000bhp the difference is completely negliable. Whats your thoughts on this? Only actually experience ple…

Hi Guys! Ive originally posted this in the ZClub but a Zed is a Zed! We had a few of you guys down for petrolhead nirvana a few weeks ago and we got speaking to the Hero that is Steve Burns. We spoke about having a Z only day down at LMM, we can get you guys to bring the 3 best Zeds you have t offer inside the museum in the studio for some crispy shots. All we need is a date, we are NOT located in central London and we have plenty of parking. Steve said that some of you guys pictured us like the transport museum! We are very different! How are you guys for the end of November? Alvin LMM team

just wanted to see if anyones got any idea's for my Z car was running fine the day before. Got in it dismorning and it started but i then stalled it :death: and now the Z wont fire up. The engine turns over but does not spark to life. I have charged the battery just in case. Was thinking it could be the fuel pump or PTU (bit strange as it was fine the day before) Anyone else got any ideas for me to check?

Well, got my lovely zed back from Jeff, he has done wonders with the car, it is so different to drive, quicker, smoother, feels more planted on the road. It is odd, the way we have our cars for so long and just get used to the way they drive, then after someone like Jeff has tweaked it, and fixed a few little things, it is like a new car... Thank you Jeff, and to all your team.

Well, after being mortally afraid to do anything other than check the oil and water on my car, I finally rolled up my sleeves and got my hands dirty! I'm not adverse to practical stuff, but generally with cars I know I'm better off leaving it to the pro's. After getting a quote of 200 quid to fit some stereo equipment in my car, I quickly changed my mind however. 200 quid? How hard can it be? I had been looking at a whole new setup for my car, but to get myself started, I decided I would replace just the door speakers and rear 6x4's. I started at 9 o'clock removing the driver's door card and by 10 o'clock I still hadn't got the bloody thing off! One of the meta…

I have had my rear subframe off to paint and renew, now it all is refitted, I have a kind of bang type noise. It happens when letting the clutch out the first time going forwards or reversing, there appears to be play in the diff, when I let the clutch out, the prop and diff seem to rotate about a Cm before becoming solid, or engaged, and when it becomes solid, it makes a bit of a knock, or slight bang, is it normal for the input of the diff to have play in it? I noticed it when I had the diff off, presumed it was normal. If I put her in reverse with the handbrake on and let the clutch bite repeatedly, it is knock, knock, knock etc. each time I let the clutch bite..…

Al little knowledge can be dangerous, a well known saying that is proven over and over, see below, the amount of copper slip that had been applied to the release bearing in this already oily gearbox ( crank seal leaking) the bearing is designed to not need any amount of lubricant on the front face, this is stationary once it makes contact with the pressure cover fingers, the internal ball bearings then are the rotating point, of course the trouble this causes is it gets up onto the clutch face, see in the second pic the throw out lines of copper slip..... be careful if in doubt always ask! Making a list of winter projects to do and on it is rear hub removal. Could anyone give a brief run through for me please? (With pictures if possible) Better still, if there is already a tech "how to" and if someone could post the link I would be grateful.
