As the title suggests, at times I think the clutch is slipping. On any other car I've had, I've been able to categorically say one way or the other for definite whether the clutch is slipping or not.

Not so on my Zed. One day it seems fine, another it doesn't feel quite right, esp when the turbo's kick in. I did wonder at one time if the wheels were spinning rather than clutch slip, but I guess not!

I think the clutch has only done around 40k. I know that the system is slightly different on these cars, in so far that there is some form of servo in the system.

 

Any thoughts?

I've had a similar experience tbh and I've come to the conclusion after nearly a year of it happening and trying to figure it out, that I think the clutch slips when I change gear really quickly and am on boost before the clutch is engaged, if that makes sense? If I do a really methodical change, with a double de-clutch and I wait until it's engaged to floor the accelerator, it's fine, if I do a bit of a slip change, without the double de-clutch and my foot hits that accelerator a second too early, it tends to slip, but not every time. HTH

I had similar thoughts about mine - couldn't be sure whether it was or not... and it failed very shortly after! I was surprised at how well it performed until the last few miles though! Get on the motorway and floor it in 4th - will be obvious if it's slipping or not!

Well, I think that it must be slipping, it's just the other possibilities of 'why' that I need to look at.

I read Jeff at Zedworlds posts elsewhere suggesting that the hydraulic flexi tube to the slave could have crushed in on itself - I've had this on brakes before where the pressure isn't released when the pedal is realeased.

Other thoughts were to change the hydraulic fluid or look at the adjustment (wherever this is done) for the pedal.

40k on a Z clutch aint bad if it gets a bit of a boot full quite often..

Still, I'd have to ask the question, why some days it seems ok, others not?
