It's quite well known that USA Horses are a different breed to UK horses, but the following thread over on TT.net from Jan 2011 really highlights the disparity: http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/2416119/Selin-Dual-Intake-and-dual-pop-history-with-Dyno-Chart.html When talking about the limits and correlation between voltage & power using a single OEM MAF, the following question was asked: Answered by: So, apparently 5V MAF voltage = 500hp at the rear wheels in the States, with a linear relationship up to this point (100whp=1V)... Conversely, I've seen 4.5V at 343rwhp (394@fly) on the Zed and around 4.4V on …

I thought one of my Headlights was flickering the other day but put it down to the battery perhaps dying, it worked the next day briefly but then went completely dead. On testing and swapping fuses, bulbs, ballasts about I concluded 100% that it was the ballast to blame . My kit is nearly 3 years old, ballasts are the old chunky ones, 6000k and the 55w type, been admirable for this period for a cheap far east kit. I replaced just the ballast for a brand new slim one, again from a £20.00 kit, like for like at 55w and the bulbs have not been changed and are both from the same kit bought 3 years ago. You will notice and in real life it was clea…

Seeing as I got the zed looking something like I wanted, I'm looking forward this coming year to bringing her down to a few shows and hopefully meeting some of you guys I really hope to get the interior up to spec before then but anyways...... Where does the club get to to for the major shows. I'm new to the show scene so sorry if its a dumb questions I know we have a big one day show at Trentham Gardens in Stoke On Trent every June and heard that the last year or two there was little or no prescence of Zeds which seems a bit of a shame. As I live about 3 miles from there I fancied taking the car down this coming year, does anyone else go there? And w…

Hi guys, After some confirmation on wiring in my rear fog before I blow up the car, (although that could be a good thing at the moment)! Looking at the link below pin 17&18 are for the rear fog, so I'm thinking I can wire into this and it should work, any thoughts? Now I'm not bothered if the fronts come on to as I only use the fogs when I need to or at the MOT Center, I don't use them just to look cool! I also don't want to drill holes for a new switch, so if I can get either a yes or no on the question or advise on how to do it would be great. Cheers all. http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=el&dir=&config=&refresh=&am…

Some of you may have picked up recently on my turbo failure, sadly I'm an eager beaver. So I went about wanting to know why the turbo seals, in particular, fail. essentially there are two seals, for the purposes of discussion we will call them front and rear. To define what I mean by this the front is the one pointing towards the front of the engine (cambelt end) the rear is obviously the opposite end which is the exhaust compressor end. The seals themselves sit in a recess on the turbo shaft and look very much like a piston ring. The rear one is the commonest one to fail, it seems for our turbos. The reason for this is over pressure from the oil side, causing it…

Been after some of these for a while now and got some when I tagged along to Yewcheck's Z1 Xmas order from the USA a few weeks ago. You can get two versions, these are the most powerful the UHP and are specific to my SWB, they work an absolute treat. Only take 10 mins tops to fit and can easily be done on your own, one strut holds it up no problem. I have still got the weight in the tailgate, spoiler and wiper all fitted and it flies up, bit of an effort to close but feels very sturdy . [video=youtube_share;Se-kFo83OWg]
