Will be doing an oil change in the next couple of weeks. Other than letting it drain for a couple of days or so, are there any other tricks so as to get as much old oil out as possible?

Old one broken, got a new one, can't get at the top nut. Any ideas? Somebody must have changed one before. Do I really have to start stripping out everything from above just to get at that one nut??

Hi guys, the zed project i am looking at has skyline r34 rear lights grafted in, would not be my personal choice so i am thinking of grinding out all the welding work the previous owner has done to get them in there!! However before i do has anyone seen a zed with it done or even BETTER got ay pictures of a zed with r34 lights ?? If it looked good i may well finish what they started but i cant picture the converstion done to help me decide,(if that makes sense)

Is it just mine or are all the lights that Nissan fitted on the 300ZX crap? Anyway, sick of not being able to see at night when reversing I decided to do something about it today First of all I used four x 3 Watt white LEDs and put two each side. I used some resistors I had lying around (rather than buying some wirewound ones) I used 22 ohm resistors, six in parallel then another six in parallel to give a total resistance of about 8 ohms. They dissipate quite a bit of heat! I would suggest if anyone wants to build a similar circuit you just by a couple of power resistors instead The pics tell the story well.... so here goes. The little bits of wire stick…

  9. Anyone have any idea where to buy this kind of thing? Not much coming up in eBay. They are for my bumpsteer track rod ends.

some silly questsions  I've got the stock replacement KYBs on the car with standard shock but I've no idea how the damper setting works (they were on the car when I picked it up) 1. I take it the higher the number selected, the harder the ride? 2. How do you adjust the front setting properly. Do you turn the pot on top of the turret by pushing the pot downwards? or just turn it without pressing it down (not sure) thx

Beside the very intersting thread discussing (finally!) about what are the real advantages of a good engine mapping, I would like to show you my small part of the Emerald learning on the subject... Maybe in my presentation http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?166760-A-Z32-driven-to-France-for-a-new-or-continued-life-into-a-nice-home! you have pointed that my Emerald experience started two years ago with the 280ZX IMSA Supercharged. The car was in parts with the supercharger, Sprintex 30 years old, not even assembled on the engine. The existing Emerald management on there was DOS based, and turned rapidly to a piece of museum history. Emerald proposed an e…

  16. Seeing as a Series 4 Turbo does not have a boost gauge in the clocks and things have developed for me now to fit one as I have acquired 3 clocks in total over the years so I have lots of spares. I have had to fit the stock oil pressure gauge as the EL dial I had in this location was damaged and no longer lit up and also the needle as never been possible for it to sit correctly on zero . This now looked odd mainly colour wise and out of balance so I carefully cut away the speedo EL sheet and fit a stock boost gauge to show through this now created space. It looks grand now, both may be stock black against the other EL ones but I am happy but the b…

  17. As per title and what does it do? I am talking about the white thing in the foreground, it adjusts and is set in the middle of it's travel. FYI my clocks are series 4.

It's the least I could do! Any members kicking around in the Portsmouth area? I'm down here during term time :) Got a couple plans for the car, mostly maintenance however: Fix the targa leak Number plate lights (!) Maybe swap out the red/black interior for some all black numbers and change the interior red leather that is about to normal black or alacantra Polish up the back boxes and maybe the plenums if I can motivate myself Remote locking Heftier discs and pads Prop shaft bearing There's rust on the front passenger wing and a bit around the sills so next summer I'll give the paint a rub back and give that a thorough looking at - cut and weld …

OK I just felt I had to post this Since i got my Zed fitted with body kit the way I wanted it and resprayed white I have to say the response from the public at large is pretty impressive (and YES I'm lovin it) It seems no matter where I her park up.... or just driving along the road - there are folks admiring the car - like the 'trolly' lad at tesco I caught admiring it- or the couple on the shoppping centre carepark the missus over heard saying wow thats a nice car, and she said 'wow isnt it low' or even the group of young guys in some dodgy looking 'ugraded' hatchback with a drainpipe for an exhaust who pulled steady alongside gauping the other day - u…

As the title states, just had my mot today. And it FAILED! Luckily it was only for a few minor bits, for example.... Steering gator Head lamp adjustment Front number plate on the dashboard. Although while it was there, they snapped the hand brake cable somehow, so that also has to be replaced now. What did make me laugh however was an advisory because the exhaust was loud. Of course its loud, its a full stainless performance exhaust with decats. To be honest though, I knew it was going to fail because of the gator and number plate but I also thought it was going to fail because of the hid's, but was told that they are fine for mot but actually illegal f…
