As you can imagine since my turbos parted ways with there seal, ive been looking in the rear view mirror for smoke as much as the road infront waiting to see what happens. early reports were good did a few 5 mile round trips etc, at first there was a fair bit of smoke but then it died down, eventually the last few of those small journey's nothing. Which I was very happy with, yesterday I took it for a blat up the dual carriage way and back to see what it did again pulling well no smoke etc etc. So today I took it for a proper drive, I drove it for about 2/2.5 hours covering about 80 miles of mixed driving and full throttle acceleration through several gears. So real…

Hi guys Over the winter my Zed has had a rushing water/sloshing sound coming from somewhere behind me when cornering. When I had the MOT the tester said he thought there was water in the sills which is making the noise. Made sense to me, I've had a leak from my targas, and as far as I am aware the targa drain pipes go down and out through the sills. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the matter, and if anyone could advise me on how to check for water down there? Cheers John

Hi guys who likes my shelter lol, This is how not to work on your zed, The o no not again bit is I started my engine bay again, ive welded all the seams up on the passenger side now. And started both sides again, gonna make it smooth so welded all the holes where u bolt fuse box and power steering pot. Got rid of hicas so that nasty thing has gone too. I'll get some closer pics up tomorrow, when ive sanded some of the filler I put on so badly lol. Was gonna relocate fuse box to where my aircon pump use to be and power steering bottle under nose panel. Anyone else done similar, got any advice or better ideas, or even better so…

there are certain songs that you remember, that when heard, you can still picture a moment in time when the song was playing, such as a me being on a club 18-30 holiday in greece, messing around with a Swedish nurse and blur boys and girls was playing. get the idea!! On my way home shakira hips dont lie plays on the radio, next thing its like im put back in time a few years ago, driving on the express route from rouen to chartres in france in my zed, when a DB7 zooms past beeping his horn, red flag to a bull, and im off, flashing him to get out of the way and 145, he pulls over and to prove a point i floor it, next thing i remember is lots of smoke, engine making a t…

Hi guys got a problem...my car keeps eating battery power! I've fully charged 2 different batteries now, one from my old zed and a new one and after 3 days its totally dead, not even enough juice to unlock the doors or for the alarm led!! I don't use the car, I stuck a new battery on, started and moved the car and 3 days later nadda! My alarm siren don't work, I have a separate siren with battery back up which looks kaput, its a Clifford alarm, would that be what's killing my battery? Biggest problem as the doors don't open with the key so have to climb through the boot, any ideas guys?? Cheers

My car ran fine and boosted fine no problems, it used to boost at 1.2 bar. the person i bought it off said it was 350bhp but had no proof but was about the same speed as an e46 m3. Since my battery died in the cold .this caused my turbo timer to reset meaning i had to put the time back up, my greddy boost controller is now set to 60 percent but i do not know what it was set to before the battery died. My car builds up boost pressure to about 0.5 bar then suddenly none and the car sounds flat and slow through the revs. If i let off before it drops out i get a nice woosh from the dumpys but if rev more i have zero noise. Also the car lets in alot of water on the passeng…

Have an odyssey dry cell battery on the Z. Great in summer, plenty of kick to start and even my monster electric fan didnt faze it and it stays on for ages when i leave the car in the hot weather. But, now its winter and the cars not getting used, it dies in 2 weeks. Thats to be expected. Just wondering if i need a specific charger/conditioner for this type of battery or just a normal one. Could just disconnect it but would rather leave it in the car on charge then the alarm etc is still active and the cars always ready to role if the mood takes me. Any advice welcome. cheers danny

Well, at least thats what id call them The bushes in the rear hubs that the HICAS steering rack connects to have perished and split, and im trying to find either an OE or after market replacement, but im struggling to find them on the usual parts websites. They look like the usual track rod end rubber boots, but jimmer has told me there are infact bushes (assuming that theyre built into the hub that the rod ends feed a shaft through, rather than a boot that attached to the rod end itself) I would post a pic to show what im on about, but the cars with Jimmer... Does any one understand what im whittering on about, if so, can you provide me a link of wher…

Spotted this on ebay - seems a bit excessive!! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-Keyring-Real-Genuine-Carbon-Fibre-Z-180Sx-200Sx-240Z-300Zx-350Z-370Z-/370664208078?pt=UK_Car_Parts_Vehicles_Automobila_ET&hash=item564d4ef6ce m8 of mine said I ought to get something with a Z to put on mine, and the missus obviously oveheard and a couple days later this turns up in the post lol..... Of course it had to go on the keyring otherwise it would seem a bit ungrateful and actually I quite like it..... If you don't know what it actually is.... go ask yer dad lol

I think (can't quite recall) my previous Z was the same as this one I have a key fob that enables/disables the aftermarket(?) immobiliser but it does not trigger the central locking/unlocking However If I use the key in the drivers door that also unlocks the passenger side so central locking works in it's own way Is the Z supposed to have central locking working from the key fob? And if not how do I make it do so - as apart from the chance of scratching the paintwork, the key and/or locks on my car feel like they are getting tired and one of these days something is gonna break and having to open the doors with a key looks so naff these days :mad2: I o…

took it for a blast today, two things ive noticed, firstly pulling away from standstill it wont pull away on just the clutch you need a touch of accelerator around 1500rpm to prevent stuttering? would of thought that big old v lump should pull away on just the clutch. Also although at 70 if you drop to 4th and accelerate it wont spin up, if you properly downshift and give it a boot full there is some slip on the rears. also accelerating through 3rd at the top it will spin the rears. it was damp/wet out. im running 265/35/18r perreli pzeros is this normal? ive not had chance to drive it much since the manual conversion, and turbo refurb.

my targa leak is causing the carpet to get damp, and because of the weather snow etc etc ive not driven the car so its not warming up and dying out, tso its causing me real issues. ive done the usual and pulled up the front edge and pumped it full of selant, it didn't really stop it. its coming out the front piece of the targa. just a small drip but constant. the targa itself is saturated.

Hi guys, I have the na rear diff and subframe on my tt, I stripped it all down to clean/paint and the rear toe adjustment bolts broke. (ones with a cut down the bolt and washer that moves toe in and out) Was looking at adjustable rear toe arms if I buy these, would they come with bolts to replace stock or can I use a normal nut and bolt from my breaker from one of the other arms. Or does anyone know if the camber bolts are the same has the toe bolts cause have 2 camber bolts spare on the breaker this has no toe arm bolts has its tt. Thats if they come off without breaking lol. Any help appreciated.
