For last couple of days i have been chasing my arse around looking for a misfire on my zed, with guidance from JeffTT (Thank you). Tested all coil packs there is a spark there, I have found that all Injectors plugs require renewing, when testing the Injectors all about 11.9 Ohms apart from No 4 cylinder injector which is open circuit. How easy is it to change, i can see 1 screw to undo but the other is under the top plenum, is this a total strip down?

Once my new turbos are in I want to uprate my intercoolers. Couldn't find a good discussion thread about which is best to go for and why, so I thought lets get one going. As a uneducated man on the subject by looking at them I was leaning towards a set of sides. There is a lot wanting an air surpply already in the middle will the air filter and both rads. But what is everyone view on it?

Fully re-built my engine EXCEPT checking the tub seals as i could,nt be botherd taking the turbo cartridges apart and after running the motor in then changing oil and filter, knocking the base down to 13 degrees to be cautious for the next few hundred miles untill getting the car mapped.Turned the boost up to 12psi and took it for a spin to be greeted by yep......seal or seals have let go:headvswal.Motor back out and get the tubs re-built and do what i should of done in the 1st place:rofl:. So anyone who has not replaced turbo seals before putting motor back in then this will or might make you think about doing it...what a wonderfull life:D

  11. I'm sorry for what feels like a really retarded question but my passenger seat is behaving oddly... I've got a TT 2+2. When I pull the handle on the passenger seat it tilts forward and slides to the front to allow someone to get into the back, fine, this makes sense so far. When I push the back of the seat into it's normal position it clicks and locks back, the bottom of the seat stays put and the front passenger gets in, again all looking good. However when I'm driving down the road and give it some right pedal the force sends the passenger seat sliding right back to the rear most position crushing the rear passenger. To be clear, the first time it was pre…

Does anyone have any really clear pictures of the entire underside of the Z ? Preferably a SWB, but LWB pics still helpful. Also with the stock undertrays fitted. Needed for a project Im working on and dont want to rely on just memory.

  13. Came across this, personally I wouldn't bother after doing it with the engine out as theres a few bolts that will be a dick after 20 years of not moving. Anyways a nice clear and simple guide. http://www.atri.se/nikoz/z/turbos.html

When driving your zed with a good load on the electrical system such as heater, lights, demisters etc. the alternator gets a little warm in fact very warm, what then do you think would happen to a warm or more so hot alternator plunged into cold water by virtue of a flooded road.............a busted alternator! Unusual I will accept, and in this case an engine busting flood too, but have seen alternators fail electrically from a big puddle splash, undertrays are a pain but do give water splash protection. Peeps, Have been doing a few bits and bobs to the zed today, mainly electrical, where the center console has been out. I came across this underneath the cubbyhole/arm rest Can anyone tell me what it is (the black box with braided hoses), whats its purpose and what the two braided lines go to? Cheers in advance

Got a fresh Mot today.. 1st one since 2007. The car had been laid up with a broken engine when I bought it last year. I want to thank Mark Derby for all the help and advice over the last few months..Top bloke. The Z has only covered 2400 miles since 2006 and only needed two bulbs plus 3 new wipers for the Mot! I will be using the car daily but will be taking it steady for a while.lol

Am I right to understand that essentially when you hybrid the t25 to make one of those t25/28 that a few people use, that essentially what you do is use the t25 core which is the same in the t25/28 etc range, with a t28 front compressor wheel, a bored out t25 front housing and a t25 rear housing? Because looking at the t25 exhaust housing I cannot see how you can bore it out any larger to fit the larger wheel. I understand they produce less power than a genuine gt28, I assume this is because your not using the exhaust housing and rear compressor so cannot achieve the same effect. If you switch over to true t28s the exhaust housing is 5 bolt? So that would require dif…

And dont you just love a pass:dance: Went into the MOT Center at 1200hrs twenty mins later it came out the other end with a pass and the mechanic saying how clean the zed is. Will be getting it taxed on Monday and thats it ready for Summer:cool3: Plus after not driving it for so long it was soooo good getting back to such a well sorted and powerful car. Must get more pics when the weather picks up in the meantime this is how it looks out of the garage.

  25. Corrosion (rust) protection is a major concern for an enthusiast when considering coilovers. Corrosion can cause adjustable components to seized and prevent any further adjustments, especially in the UK where harsh road salt is used during the winter months. It is extremely important that the anti-corrosion coating is durable in order to protect steel damper body. If the anti-corrosion coating is not durable enough, it can be eroded easily by the weather leaving the damper unprotected. Once the coating has perished, the unprotected steel damper body can corrode (rust) within weeks. In the picture above, the anti-corrosion coating at the forward fac…
