Peeps, Have been doing a few bits and bobs to the zed today, mainly electrical, where the center console has been out. I came across this underneath the cubbyhole/arm rest Can anyone tell me what it is (the black box with braided hoses), whats its purpose and what the two braided lines go to? Cheers in advance

Got a fresh Mot today.. 1st one since 2007. The car had been laid up with a broken engine when I bought it last year. I want to thank Mark Derby for all the help and advice over the last few months..Top bloke. The Z has only covered 2400 miles since 2006 and only needed two bulbs plus 3 new wipers for the Mot! I will be using the car daily but will be taking it steady for a while.lol

Am I right to understand that essentially when you hybrid the t25 to make one of those t25/28 that a few people use, that essentially what you do is use the t25 core which is the same in the t25/28 etc range, with a t28 front compressor wheel, a bored out t25 front housing and a t25 rear housing? Because looking at the t25 exhaust housing I cannot see how you can bore it out any larger to fit the larger wheel. I understand they produce less power than a genuine gt28, I assume this is because your not using the exhaust housing and rear compressor so cannot achieve the same effect. If you switch over to true t28s the exhaust housing is 5 bolt? So that would require dif…

And dont you just love a pass:dance: Went into the MOT Center at 1200hrs twenty mins later it came out the other end with a pass and the mechanic saying how clean the zed is. Will be getting it taxed on Monday and thats it ready for Summer:cool3: Plus after not driving it for so long it was soooo good getting back to such a well sorted and powerful car. Must get more pics when the weather picks up in the meantime this is how it looks out of the garage.

Corrosion (rust) protection is a major concern for an enthusiast when considering coilovers. Corrosion can cause adjustable components to seized and prevent any further adjustments, especially in the UK where harsh road salt is used during the winter months. It is extremely important that the anti-corrosion coating is durable in order to protect steel damper body. If the anti-corrosion coating is not durable enough, it can be eroded easily by the weather leaving the damper unprotected. Once the coating has perished, the unprotected steel damper body can corrode (rust) within weeks. In the picture above, the anti-corrosion coating at the forward fac…

Hi everyone, My car has just started to feel a bit odd, I don't know a massive amount about engines but it seems like it might be miss firing a little, on idle it sits at about 500rpm. When pulling away it almost feels like it wants to stall and holds back a bit. Seems to get a bit better when it is run for a while, also a little smokey but that could be down to a little too much redex as it is White smoke. Has anyone got any ideas what it could be. Many thanks James

How the frig' they've managed to break this I'll never know I bought a lightweight Odyssey battery for the zed and the guy who posted it did a fantastic job of wrapping it. Double thickness box, bubble wrapped all round, loads of tape and even wrote on both sides for the Parcel Farce' monkeys to take note "This Way UP" (with arrows pointing upwards!) of course it arrives a day late but no problem, but then this evening I start to unwrap it and the first thing that becomes apparent is that it's been dropped and then as soon as I start to unwrap it I find that one of the ****ing terminals has snapped off!!! …

Having seen a few threads over the years by frustrated owners unable to match cambelt timing marks against the backplate, I had an opportunity whilst changing a cambelt this morning to grab a picture of the issue and the cause of the problem, it demonstrates why the cambelt & sprockets timing marks are often at odds with the back plate marks and why the backplate marks are for rough estimate only. The backplate holes have a small but not insignificant amount of movement around the fixing bolt and when tightened to the block can slip left and right if not held in the correct place, the picture shows the centre section where the left and right hand backplates m…

Took some co2 reading tonight. No matter what I did, the left side was always twice the reading of the right! e.g. Left read 3%co2 and the right read 1.5%co2. When switching the sniffer, the change was almost instant and the difference always the same! This may sound daft, but listening to the exhaust note up close, the left side sounded like.. puff puff puff and the right sounded like.. pop pop pop! The difference was very noticeable. Any relationship do you think?? So! my question is.. What would be the key features to check, that would most likely cause this fault?

This hasn't become an issue just yet and I'm hoping that the company in question have just made a simple error with regards to colour and are happy to replace without fuss, but I'd be interested to see what colour you class this as.... Here's the colour list (I ordered Yellow/Sunflower) This is what has arrived. I believe this to be (Orange) *the H&S safety sign (bottom) is just there for direct colour comparison Would you agree that the colour that has been delivered is 'Orange' and not 'Yellow'?
