Hi, everytime i press the brake pedal i get "light" fash up on the dash, checked all bulbs all working fine, is this a warning to let you know a bulb is out? if so all my bulbs are working properly?. also Anti-lock light comes on randomly, would that be a dirty sensor? if so where abouts are they located? on the caliper? can they be cleaned? or would it be the ABS relay playing up? Thanks in advance leeroy

Have seen a few topics cropping up again about injectors failing and the quicker method of dremeling the plenum to gain access to the fixing screws. Many of the guys reading this may not have a clue what it means and had the opportunity today whilst changing a single injector ( number 6) on a non turbo but the same method applies to the twin turbo. So starting off with the balancer bar removed and loom pulled back. The faulty injector can be seen a little better now The cold run part of the idle control valve removed for even more access. Close up it is now clear how one of the injector cap fixing screws cannot be undone due to the p…

There has been a few threads recently about turbo swaps without removing the engine and by pure chance in the workshop today I had the opportuntity to take a few pics when working in the same area. As it happens there was nothing wrong with the turbo, this poorly zed had a noisy manifold gasket but of course to gain access to the manifold required the turbo removal. Its interesting to see quite how involved this job can be and the lack of room, also when all removed the area looks like a bomb site!! Enjoy !! Jeff TT Starting off with the booster and brake master cylinder removed to gain some access. [ATT…

For last couple of days i have been chasing my arse around looking for a misfire on my zed, with guidance from JeffTT (Thank you). Tested all coil packs there is a spark there, I have found that all Injectors plugs require renewing, when testing the Injectors all about 11.9 Ohms apart from No 4 cylinder injector which is open circuit. How easy is it to change, i can see 1 screw to undo but the other is under the top plenum, is this a total strip down?

Once my new turbos are in I want to uprate my intercoolers. Couldn't find a good discussion thread about which is best to go for and why, so I thought lets get one going. As a uneducated man on the subject by looking at them I was leaning towards a set of sides. There is a lot wanting an air surpply already in the middle will the air filter and both rads. But what is everyone view on it?

Fully re-built my engine EXCEPT checking the tub seals as i could,nt be botherd taking the turbo cartridges apart and after running the motor in then changing oil and filter, knocking the base down to 13 degrees to be cautious for the next few hundred miles untill getting the car mapped.Turned the boost up to 12psi and took it for a spin to be greeted by yep......seal or seals have let go:headvswal.Motor back out and get the tubs re-built and do what i should of done in the 1st place:rofl:. So anyone who has not replaced turbo seals before putting motor back in then this will or might make you think about doing it...what a wonderfull life:D

  21. I'm sorry for what feels like a really retarded question but my passenger seat is behaving oddly... I've got a TT 2+2. When I pull the handle on the passenger seat it tilts forward and slides to the front to allow someone to get into the back, fine, this makes sense so far. When I push the back of the seat into it's normal position it clicks and locks back, the bottom of the seat stays put and the front passenger gets in, again all looking good. However when I'm driving down the road and give it some right pedal the force sends the passenger seat sliding right back to the rear most position crushing the rear passenger. To be clear, the first time it was pre…

Does anyone have any really clear pictures of the entire underside of the Z ? Preferably a SWB, but LWB pics still helpful. Also with the stock undertrays fitted. Needed for a project Im working on and dont want to rely on just memory.

  23. Came across this, personally I wouldn't bother after doing it with the engine out as theres a few bolts that will be a dick after 20 years of not moving. Anyways a nice clear and simple guide. http://www.atri.se/nikoz/z/turbos.html

When driving your zed with a good load on the electrical system such as heater, lights, demisters etc. the alternator gets a little warm in fact very warm, what then do you think would happen to a warm or more so hot alternator plunged into cold water by virtue of a flooded road.............a busted alternator! Unusual I will accept, and in this case an engine busting flood too, but have seen alternators fail electrically from a big puddle splash, undertrays are a pain but do give water splash protection.
