I have a single exit atm with a rotted box...the 3" pipe up to the 2 bolt flange behind the tank on the drivers side is perfect.I was toying with the idea of a side exit via a 4" hole through the rear lower quarter and bumper about here with a slash cut tip poking through about 1". whats your thoughts

There is oil coming from the bell housing on my gear box and running down the length of the gearbox to the back end of it near where the propshaft is,would you agree its the rear crank seal???not a huge leak but does leave a small fifty pence size mark on the floor when she stands.

Anyone know if all timing belts are the same on the zed or does year have an influence on belt type?

Hi all, in the new year I'll be due for new tyres, but I can't find any info on what load index we need to run on our cars. A normal tyre has a load index of 91, which allows a load per wheel of 610kg, is this enough for ours? Or is it necessary to go for an XL rated tyre, because they're coming up about £20 more each!

I've been watching a lot of Fast & Loud recently & love the look of their cars when fitted with air ride suspension. I was wondering if anyone had ever fitted it in a zed & would it be worth it? Be good for getting over speed bumps. Seen some really good kits for sale.

Anyone know what size speakers will fit into original locations on a zed? Don't want to cut anything if possible just replace with good quality speaker units.

you have taking all the pipes/valves and tubing off and now you need to plug the hole left in the passenger side manifold...well this is the little fella you need, a steel 3/4" BSP plug stopend...available for pennies from any industrial merchant or ebay:winkiss: bsp plug.bmp

Do all you guys generally use 10/40 semi? I only use my car during the summer as I'm sure many of you do, do you find now these engines are getting on a bit a thicker oil is required? Thanks

Picked my car up from Jeff the other day, fixed a few little niggles and a cambelt change. Can't believe you managed to fix my central locking too. As always top workman ship, car feels loads better now and it's good to have her back on the road. Nice to see you and Lynda again and thanks for your hospitality. Another happy customer

Hi guys, So my new wheels are on and everything is pretty much perfect, apart from one thing I just noticed... When driving slowly (10mph) and turning left sharply there is a grinding noise coming form the rear left wheel... I can't put my finger on what it could be, the new wheels have plenty of clearance of the callipers and it doesn't happen turning right... Any thoughts? Hoping it isn't going to be something like the diff on it way out or something like that.... I imagine it is due to something that happens when the weight shifts rather than the angle of the front wheels as it definitely sounds like it is coming from the rear passenger side. Best. …

  14. I am able to make any reverse light panel (RLP) look like a 99 spec one, in fact mine even light up but as ever I have moved on. The red 300ZX looks a strong red in real life, both when switched on and when not, the vid doesn't show it up as well as I would of liked . One in this vid is a fake but one is the genuine article ???? [video=youtube_share;Yw991a-yFF0]

well guys got another problem, when my 300 is idling it's fine but as soon as the throttle is opened about 1mm it runs like a sack of..... every time there is a click from a solenoid buy the master cylinder, i unplugged that solenoid and the problem is now gone I'm assuming its for the aiv or maybe the egr, both of them i plan on removing when i install my new turbos, just want to make sure unplugging the solenoid wont affect anything. thanks in advance guys :D

Well I must be missing a trick here. How the hell are you supposed to remove the passenger headlight without taking the whole car apart?? Driving me mad!! Any suggestions would be appreciated. As it stands at the moment, I can't see anyway around dropping the recirculation valve just to get access to the last bolt. Is there an easier way? Talk about frustrating or what.

Hi all been a while since posting on here. The beast has been off the road for about a year while I saved for a deposit for my house. Anyhoo when all the house stuff was done I got jim to rebuild my engine. I got the car back recently and am very happy with it and just wanted to say a big big thank you to jim for all his hard work. I now understand why he has a reputation for being the main man for engine builds. if anyone is thinking of a build in the future, jim is the man to speak to. Unfortunatley I have no idea how to upload pics from my phone. Maybe jim might be kind enough to put some up for me if he still has them.

Hi All, Just noticed a ticking noise coming from the drivers side front wing area. It's fairly quiet and doesn't start until the engine warms up. It sounds fairly low frequency and a bit "clockwork-like". i'm just thinking of what's changed in that area and all I can think of is that the carbon canister and coolant bottle (although that's the other side) have just been deleted. Any thoughts? Many thanks Nick

  20. Started by dannyfiveforty,

I painted my calipers several years back with hammerite and a brush. I want to remove my calipers this weekend and remove all old paint and then re paint them properly. The old paint does chip off with a screwdriver but don't want to subject my calipers to a hammer and screwdriver just to remove paint, is there a better way? Such as using a heat gun? Or having them sandblasted? Don't want to damage the seals in there though... Thanks, Dan

Thought I would run the car up for a little while as it has not been run for a few weeks. After about 20 minutes or so I did the obligatory fluid checks etc' On removal of the oil filler cap I noticed what can only be described as a milky white deposit on the underside of the cap. Is this normal due to the fact that she has been standing?

  23. Hi guys, Picked up some wheels last night from a guy who said they had come off a 300zx. Looked nice and they are smart, but I have run into issues today fitting them... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/17-Rays-Volk-Racing-Staggered-Wheel-Size-Set-Forged-Jdm-Toyota-Honda-Nissan-/161168207151?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&nma=true&si=ADolq46RrhDq1iv49XKgNhLQc4Q%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc So the center bore is 72mm which is fine, I have spigots for that. it seems that the rears have very shallow bores! So the Zeds rears have a 10mm deep spigot, but these wheels only have around a 5mm deep bore, and part of it is chamfered (see…
