Just registered with this forum, had my 300 for about 8months now and I love it. Decided to treat myself (mid life crisis people say, so what! I say). It's an Auto import, in great condition 45000miles (so it says) engine sounds and runs silky smooth. Hoping to learn more about the model and keep it up to scratch with the help of you guys on this forum LOCKY

What does this do??? Ive had a uk manual and i now have an auto (also uk) just wondered what the switch does as i dont have it and is it just on the jap imports??????????

i have a 91 h zed in yellow. it has leather and everything but for some reason it doesent have elctric folding mirrors!!! My prvious one did though (both uk cars) Any ideas??????????????

Man, these insurance companies are real iceholes.And they say they're losing money on car insurance. Well they ain't losing money from me!! The difference between a jap and Uk spec car is pretty minimal, & if you then bear in mind the mods we do, and that we do not really care if it's a uk spec or a jap spec part i can't see what the problems is. So i'm thinking about either organising a special insurance scheme for us jap Z's or buying a Uk spec car and swopping the VIN, though I have not figured out what to do about the bulkead VIN stamp. Bought a 91 300 import about 8 months ago (mid life crisis I'm told, but who cares) and I absolutely love it. It's in great nick and the motor is smooth and rattle free. However the car has developed a vibration which I can feel through the seat, which comes in at about 60mph. It is not affected by engine revs. I'm thinking drive/prop shaft joints or dare I say it differential. Any ideas/tips The car has clocked 45000miles, has 4 new tyres and the wheels have been balanced twice

Well, i know its fun and all but the handling on our Z seems dangerous. We almost went head first into this other car in it today. This thing needs something drastic to help it. One of the reasons is that u cant see which gear ur in, this results in it bring in 2nd going unnoticed until u put ur foot down where it then spins. The tryes are still on the ones from japan, how much real improvement will expensive tyres make to it? Also traction control, this being the expensive option, but i can see it making a big difference. From what i heard launch control is arse on an auto so how much is a racelogic setup like ur lots but without the launch control? I know …

So there I am driving around the one way system in Sutton this evening and I see a red Z stuck in traffic in the left lane. I'm in the right lane and although the traffic is clear, I pull up next to him and wave. And wave. And beep the horn. And wave some more. NOTHING ! Hi ,i having a slight problem with my zx,when i accelerate from standing,there is a banging noise coming from the under the car near the centre under the seat.Once the car has accelerated just past standing the car no longer makes any noises ,it only seems to occur when the car starts from a standstill.I have talked to two mechanic friends of mine and they both seem to think that the rubber has split to the cushion drive,which i think is a part of the central bearing?Although it might have a seperate rubber doughnut instead?So when the car comes to a standstill the two propellor shafts droop and then when power is applied the shafts flap up and down due to the split in th…

OK, I wouldn't ask this question for any other car - after all my Ren 5 sat on jack stands for months at a time, but.. I'm about 25% through the 60k maint procedure (after a day of cursing and swearing at bolts/oil encrusted accessories), and currently the car is in the garage (yes, in the garage at last! complete with new window) with the front end supported on jack stands, using the points on the frame specified in the manual (the reinforced part of the longditudinal framework)... Now, I'm off work till Thursday, so is it gonna be OK leaving it up on the jack stands until Weds night? Just to put my mind at ease Ta! Az

Help.... I've recently (1 week) purchased a uk supplied 300ZX with a Nissan CUR 20-GB alarm/immobiliser fitted. I've had a look around to find some more info about this system but no luck, does anyone know if it's Thatcham approved etc or any other info.
