Hi guys, have a thoughts to share to see if a few heads together can resolve this. Since been involved with zeds (some 4 years) it has only been a recent (this year) that I have got involved with pinking or detonation call it what you may at a level which is odd. I know of at least 4 cars on this forum and many others who have posted that detonation is a slight or in other cases a major concern.I myself can occassionaly hear it on my own car when the correct load conditions are present. My first thought is that I know this was not a big problem when I had my first zed 4 years ago, is it a continued degregation in petrol quality maybe? My second thoug…

I know this is seriously off topic but I want to get hold of a handheld GPS unit. Does anyone have any cheap sources and, even better, does anyone had any advice on which ones are good ? I definitely want Garmin and also want local mapping facilities. Ideally I also want altitude readings. I'm thinking of either Etrex Legend of Emap Dave P.S. Warren - a fiver says you can't get an argument out of this thread !

Just read a road test report on the Maserati 3200. Seemed very Z like. About the same size, same weight - lardarse as a Z. seats in the back for small humans. Twin tub V8 though. 370hp to shove a 5.7sec 0-60mph but then it was an auto! Even same size tyres and wheels as mine - 18" Biggest difference seemed to be the latin heritage and the £70k price tag. 10 times what mine cost! Also saw the test on the latest Lotus EspritV8 Twin tub. Light weight mid engine. But hey look they've put on 4 round rear lights and a front nose spoiler something like the new Z one I've just seen here!

Hi, There is a new virus going round which I got sent today via email. Be very careful ! "Once running, the trojan attempts to mail the victim's IP Address to the author. Once this information is obtained, the author can connect to the infected system via the Internet and steal personal information such as usernames, and passwords. In addition, the trojan also contains a keylogger program which is capable of capturing other vital information such as credit card and bank account numbers and passwords. " Basically if you get something from someone you don't know they don't open any attachment. http://vil.mcafee.com/dispVirus.asp?virus_k=99069 …

I am about to fit new springs, shocks and a complete set of urethane bushings. At the moment I can thee is about 8mm of movement in my steering column - yep the wheel move laterally, but only really noticeable if I'm giving it a hard time round a corner. Does anyone know if replacement of the bushings could sort this ? Or is there something common that loosens / needs replacing ? Also have a slight knocking noise from front n/s wheel area when turning really hard right and when it goes over pot holes etc. Last thing I want to do is fork out on new susp. kit to find that it needs to come apart again to fix the rest. Is there such thing as a steering tie bar for …

Just to recap, I took my Z to SE a month ago. It was running really crap, chucking out loads of oil, very low compression etc. After a week I got a call telling me that the engine had to come out and be rebuilt. I told them to go ahead with it. I had a call this weekend giving me an update: 1. The engine had been rebuilt recently but not put together right hence the problems. 2. The heads needed skimming and valve seats re-cut. 3. Broken piston rings found and some damage to cylinders. 4. A few new valves would be needed. 5. Turbos stripped and found to be ok. Ok I said but when will it be ready “well that’s the problem” they said “our engine man h…

So whats the most wacky thing uve seen on the roads then? To start the ball rolling.. For me it must be a truck right in front of the car having a blowout, swurving over all 3 lanes a few time before rolling and resting on the verge before setting fire.
