Just to recap, I took my Z to SE a month ago. It was running really crap, chucking out loads of oil, very low compression etc. After a week I got a call telling me that the engine had to come out and be rebuilt. I told them to go ahead with it. I had a call this weekend giving me an update: 1. The engine had been rebuilt recently but not put together right hence the problems. 2. The heads needed skimming and valve seats re-cut. 3. Broken piston rings found and some damage to cylinders. 4. A few new valves would be needed. 5. Turbos stripped and found to be ok. Ok I said but when will it be ready “well that’s the problem” they said “our engine man h…

So whats the most wacky thing uve seen on the roads then? To start the ball rolling.. For me it must be a truck right in front of the car having a blowout, swurving over all 3 lanes a few time before rolling and resting on the verge before setting fire.

Im looking at putting a new set of alloys on the Zed soon. The fitments available are: 8 x 18 or 10 x 18. Will i be able to get 10 x 18 all round? Or will have to get the smaller fitment at the front.... Im also looking to lower the car at the same time by approx 30-40mm all round. Cheerz

Got this buzzing noise on all the time when driving or idle or whatever. I *think* its the fuel pump but cant be sure. It does it for a second or 2 when u switch the ignition on b4 starting then stays on all the time and goes off about 2 seconds after u switch the engine off. It normal? What do you reckon it is?

When you pull away, it only happens when pulling away the first time off the drive btw. Anyway there is a wierd noise, its an electric motor sound for about 3/4 of a second coming from the back (drivers side I think). Any ideas what it is? Is it normal? Almost unknown for some years, GReddy/Trust have a UK dealer. SVS (Special Vehicle Service) 7 Bishopsmead Parade East Horsley, Surrey, KT24 6RT, UK tel: 01483-285657 website: www.specialvehicle.co.uk Tim, the owner, told me he has been trying for some time to get GReddy to update their site with his details. He has only just succeeded, after several years of trying.... So "not alot of people know that". If you contact Tim mention www.300ZX.co.UK, and who knows, we may get offered some deals/discounts. (Fyi, SVS have a monthly 'container' from Japan if not a stock item). [This message has been edited by Geoff (edited 15-12-2001).]
