Hey guys! Well Im new to this board and I have a couple of questions for ya. I currently own a 1990 MR2 Turbo, we just brought a 1994 supercharged Toyota Trueno for my missus. Only problem is while we both love the Trueno we have problems! Turns out there are some faults that I didn't know about and to cut a long story short I will probably be getting my $ back! The Trueno was a manual and while I know it's sad the missus was going to learn to drive it (She only drives autos!) she cant! She wants an auto. Anyways she ALWAYS love the 300ZX but because we wanted the twin turbo model (Her old man wouldn't let her!) we never bothered. Now we are thinking a Non …

Greetings all, I've had my Z for about 9 months now (stock 93 TT auto), it's had a couple of problems but nothing thats stopped me loving it....yet! One thing that's been niggling me though is the lock-up on the autobox, it seems to do it at the wrong speeds and at the wrong times?! It's more annoying than a problem - other than that the car drives great. Anyone heard of this or is it my imagination? Cheers, Jules. PS. Excellent site, read the tips on cleaning the TB's - worked a treat!

Yep, it arrived.. OK now I know it's anyones guess as to how accurate it is right now, since my Renault has never seen a dyno in its life, but I tested it tonight (handy sliproad!), pumped in the various figures you need (gear ratios, car weight, drag coefficient, frontal area, air temp, humidity, pressure, tyre size), and ran the test.. Came out with 127hp at the wheels, assuming ~15% drivetrain losses that would be 149bhp at the crank - stock is 137bhp, I have a filter, straight through exhaust, and hill power chip, which is probably ~10 or 15hp over stock tops, so I reckon it's not that far out really.. here's a pretty graph; http://www.mind-design.co.uk…

Mu gearbox may be on it's way out. Any Idea how much I could expect to pay for a replacement and fitting ? Herman

Take a look :- http://www.mr2.com/TEXT/oil_filter_test.html Now I know this is Toymota orientated and I don't know who makes the filters for Nissan, but you can bet that it's not Nissan themselves. This test would suggest that Champion are clear leaders. And the Champion part number for a 300zx is C109 - I know because I put a new one on my car a week and a half ago ....

If anyone is interested I am trying to arrange a group buy on a complete bush kit. The kit is made by Energy Suspension, and is designed specifically for the 300ZX TT. Here the blurb:- Hyper-Flex Master Set, includes: Front lower Control Arm Bushings, Front Strut Rod Bushings, Front and Rear Sway Bar frame Bushings, Rack & Pinion Bushings, Rear Sub Frame Bushings, Rear Differential Carrier Bushings) Measure the diamter of your rear sway bar before ordering. The cost without a group buy is $140 plus shipping, and I guess the dreaded tax when it reaches our shores. I am currently trying to get a discount for a group buy. Anyone interested?? …
