Noticed all the nice pics of your cars in the rides section. My 91 NA Z is losing paint fast off the lower front spoiler, from low drive way scraping to stone chips, how do you guys keep you Z fronts so fine? Also my Z is aztec red, and I have noticed that as the paint chips and flakes from the front spoiler underneath is yellow! why is this, anyone else the same?

Evening all, I've just seen a Zed that had a very different ventilation system to mine. With my system you can't tell the climate control through which ducts the air should come out, i.e., top, middle or along the footwell. The one I've just seen has a similar display unit but with the addition that by pressing the "high speed fan" button it allows you to determine which vents to use. I'm now wondering whether it is as simple as getting a second hand control assembly (seen loads at breakers) or whether the two systems are incompatible. Incedentally, the car was a UK spec J-reg. Any thoughts? Cheers Danny PS - I know this is a crap description bu…

Any ideas, received a summons for not having tax on my last car - was about 6 weeks out of date. This happened in July as I was moving house and the first thing I have heard about it is a letter telling me to be in court in February and that the max fine is £1000 Has anyone managed to squirm their way out of this one or are you all good boys and girls..... for good, read sensible, cheaper to buy it than pay the fines ! A very sad person who would rather spend the money on go fast goodies

i managed to fix the car - i sprayed some electrical cleaner on the injector socket fot the failing cylinder ....and, hey presto the car is purring like ,.....well, like a ferrari type deal. i think that an occasional dribble of petrol from the fuel line above the injector has corroded the conncetions! i cant believe the POWER its mad. i cam out of a junction in my village , put the pedal down about half way, and the back end just went shooting past me, when i finished shitting my kecks, i realised i need to do some serious 'steering in' to stop myself hitting the central reservation thingy. it was almost a case of ' 2months in the garage, 2mins on the road and back…

Ok weird one, Has anyone travelled on the stretch of the A1 at Peterborough? It goes from a 2 lane mickey-mouse bendy twot of a road into a lurrvlee 4 lane highway, and I think no Gatso (if it has like Andy in the other thread im going to jail!) I usually blow the coke out of the Zed up this stretch of road and noticed a surreal thing: There are gantries over the road every half mile or so, and these things are not usually illuminated with anything at all, I floor the car upto 140mph-odd and a very, very spooky red cross "X" appears above on the next gantry in my lane only (there are four dot-matrixy signs above each lane) - I slow down to about 100mph and the nex…

: These are mandrel bent aluminized steel tube that I have polished out. They cost me $16 each. The hose clamps are $3 each, and are hella nice. The 2"->2.5" adapters were $7 at Napa and the 2.5" straight rubber couplings were $1.50 each. : I'm still waiting on the 2" pipes to arrive, however, I already have the hose clamps and couplings waiting for them once they get here. Enjoy! : :

Is it "safe" to change the auto tranny fluid in a 1990 TT which (to my knowledge) has never had a change in it's life? The gear changes are a bit strange (2-3 seconds to change up from 2nd) so I was going to try a fluid change. Any thoughts? Ta. JonnyC

This is the passenger side. Notice filter thingy and ugly piping. This is driver side. Again notice different filter the the passenger side??? This is the two filters open. Passengers side on the left drivers on the right. The little filters are on only one side. No one seems to be able to tell me why. This little filter is on both of them except the drivers side one has a little hole in it (purpose) So i again phone crappy techiques. Speak to one of the guys who supposidly made the developed the kit this time. He was pleasent and all except, when i asked him why the difference.. he could not explain. …

I am painting the balance tube that goes across the top of the engine. I have some paint that is rated up to 150C. Do you reckon the balance tube gets much hotter than that? I can't get high temp paint in the right colour so I'm thinking I might risk it.

These are the same ones I got a while back (haven't fitted them yet!) When I got mine there were no other bids so I got them for US$275. Shipping was about another $100 because they went surface and I managed to avoid any taxes because it wasn't UPS/FedEx etc. Matey is an importer/distributor and was also up for a group buy for something like $240 (I think). Seemed like a nice bloke. Oh boy, did a mistake and need your help !! - did not drive my Zed for a couple of weeks... she is paying me back and refuses to move out of the garage ;-( All I get is in the beginning just a couple of secs sound that at least something is happening, but the engine stalls completely when releasing the key. If this would be only one coil/cylinder then it should start but run uneven - or ? Tried with some extra power (electricity) from another car, but all I got was a lot of gasoline smell from exhaust - so I guess the problem is in electronics? Having had my Zed only for a couple of months I really dont know where to start... can you advice how to wake he…
