springs, shocks, suspension

ok, theres been loads of posts on the new springs and shocks group buys lately but no-one at all seems to have mentioned anything about any of the bushings or camber adjustment.

There are people on the forum who know far more about this than me but surely if I get someone to put on my nice new springs and shocks they're going to completely upset the relationship of my tyres with the road.

Are the stock upper links on the front suspension adjustable so we can set up the camber correctly ? Don't fancy wearing out a set of tyres in an afternoon.... well I do, but not like that.

Also at the back know even less about this, surely a camber adjustment is needed here too if the springs are going to lower the height of the car ?

And wont a different ride height alter the geometry of the way the hicas works ?

Just a thought, I'm sure people have lowered much further than I intend to, but did they do anything to save those tyres ?

my understanding is that unless you buy adjustable suspension fittings, lowering the car will cause the camber to be out and it cant be adjusted properly to correct it. So you will scrub your tyres. I think this has been discussed before somehwere - especially on tt.net.

so after the success story with the springs I take it you are volunteering to sort a group buy on the adjuster kits too Warren ???

Only joking mate, the wait's no problem for me as still need to buy some other stuff to go round corners properly before I can fit it all at once, but...... announcement just made that ntl are making redundancies, and in my department - how much do you want for your metro ?

he he he now the metro value is going up biggrin.gif

I have made enquiresy into the kit by the way and am waitng for a reply.
