300ZX Heaters

Does anyone know how to function the jap import heaters properly. I can only set them to two positions. One on the windcreen by pressing the demist windowscreen button and two, on the windscreen and footwell area by pressing the auto button. I think the later model car actually states digitally where u can send the heat unlike the earlier types. I cant get it to blow out the front vents (towards my face). Anyone here have any ideas?.

being 'auto' and digitally operated the other vents automatically come on when the desired temp is needed...

smile.gif well that's how it work on my car!

Yep, that's the difference between a Series I and Series II ZX - the latter one has directional capabilities. The way things function in my Jap ZX (Series I) is that when the climate control unit is set to AUTO, it pushes out heated air through the to and bottom vents until the desired temperature is reached, then it will engage the middle vents. Not ideal but seems to work okay for me.

Hope this helped a little.

Cheers!

yeah on auto it sits around apparently not doing much at all for a while, then when the cabin is heating up nicely the top vents come on. When its on cold it pumps out of the top vents not so sure on the lower ones.

Thats another thing that needs fixing..the aircon which doesnt work biggrin.gif

Thanks guys, that did help. Will play around with it and see wot happens.

Cheers,
