General Discussions - 300ZX Related

On the way back from Tony's on saturday, i developed an intermitant buzzin' from the rear end, audiable in side the car. But when you stop it only lasts a second or two to try & locate it. Car feels no differant at all, if im looking/feeling for fuel starvation etc. Its not the usual rattles & squeeks that the Z gets as i've had 'em all & cured them - LOL. Any diagnosis would be appreciated. Where is the fuel pump located anyway? Cheers....harve.

I need a set of 18" or preferably 19". Im lookingfor split-rims but am having a lot of trouble finding alloys to fit a 300zx. Any one have any ideas/recommendations? i would greatly appreciate it.

Does anyone know who owns the white Z that is on SE's catalogue? I want some pics of it but don't know where to find them. There were a few on here a long time ago. It's the one with a Stillen front, Veilside side skirts, wide arches, round rear lights and a huge wing on it's arse. I think it has some huge engine mods too. Bled the clutch fluid this morning and there was a shit load of air in the system. What would cause this problem?. Is this a common problem on manual Zeds?. How would this affect performance on the car?. My Zed seems to have a lot of power there but does not seem to be as quick as it once was. It does not have the same kick at 3000 RPM. Thought that my RPS clutch may be knackered but don't know now. I would be grateful for any views guys!! Cheerz Simon H

Just got back from a weeks holiday in cryprus. Anything exciting happened? Any news on any group buys yet.( bit short on money tho.) Have the 80w bulbs come in yet who ever was ordering them. Saw some real nice spoilers fitted to some Honda's whilst out there, would look better on my 300 tho. And a bloody Nissan micra with a dump valve. Very sad but very quick.

My fan belt is squealing, how do I tighten the belt? which bolt tensions the belt, would I tighten it clockwise or anti clockwise?

A while back there used to be services available on the Internet that would email you when a nominated page changed. I've had a bit of a memory lapse (old age!) and can't remember the name of any of them. Can anyone help ? Hiya Guys, I am thinking of upgrading the stock brakes in my 1991 NA Jap import, the breaking is a bit iffy and it pulls to one side on hard breaking. I am thinking about going for a set of 3Gs 20 slotted rotors front and rear and getting some steel brake lines. What pads should I get and when I change the brake fluid, which should I use as the manual says use only DOT 3. Many thanks, Kind RegardZ, Amer.

Hi! Does anyone know what people use in their engine bays to make the steel bits stay shiny? e.g. balance tube, that's mild steel isn't it? Surely if its just polished it will rust. I was thinking of doing mine myself but am worried about them rusting. Are the ones that have been getting sold on here recently been chromed or coated in some way? I'm just looking for some bits to do on my z to pass the time with while I wait for parts to fix it... (If anyone remembers, some idiots tried to nick it a while ago, they robbed my house and took my keys but luckily couldn't nick it because I'd broken the ECU before hand, hehe, I'm just glad they didn't have a tow truc…

Just a thought have you cleaned your throtle bodies your symptom points to that you need some brake cleaner with the long nozzle & a tooth brush.I can do it for you if you like Jeff has showed me. Anybody replaced there front original discs recently and still got the old one lying around, mine are down past the minimun... I'll part with some cash for them and pay the pigeon to carry them... Angelus

I have a '90 TT. My oil pressure guage oftem seems to read low. So I am looking at replacing the sender unit. Now the unit on the car has a blue plastic part the loom plugs in. On the spare one I have, which is off a Jap import, it has a yellow end. Are there any differences in the two of them?? My scale reads in psi, Jap scales are in kg/cm2 are they not??
