I think I need new bushes.......

Hi Guyz,

I dunno what you think but I have noticed a problem with my car. If I move the steering wheel I can see the front wheels moving too. Should I be worried???

I'd be very worried if you can see the front wheels moving when turning the steering wheel, This means you're OUTSIDE THE CAR- when clearly you should be INSIDE. This is a very dangerous pratice Andrew and I am greatly worried for your safety!!!!

Dave

Damn I knew there was another question I'd forgotten about bushes.....

My perenials are looking rather ill - any good treatments???

The Thai bar I went to had some really nice bushes, not too painful when falling into them at 4am. I'll try and find out what sort they were and whether they fit a Uk or Jap spec

A general warning about Thai bushes though, make sure you check them out thoughourly before buying as sometimes what looks like a bush turns out to be a tree

What about rose-jointed bushes? Have to be carefull with these.

FFS Muffman.

How many Fuckin time do i have to tell you !!

Your throttle body bushes are Contracting due to running over 500hp with that exhaust of yours!

What you need to do is Clean the throttle bodies and get some fuckin bitchass Speedholes ported and sorted into that son of a bitch !!

How many BHP can be gained by porting my speed holes nico??? I have seen quite a bit on these mentioned on tt net - I remember someone saying to only port them a pair at a time though otherwise you can cause turbulence....

Well as a professional on the speed hole debate, i believe you can gain about 50 brake at least.

But regarding turbulance i think the loss in weight far outweighs the loss of aerodynamics.

Here is the thing I was looking for....

All about speed holes

Yes indeed the Current theory is that aslong as you have sufficient vacuum in the engine bay due to the seals you can synchronise intake pulse from the turbulance generated due to the Ratio between valve seat diameter and the Speed hole Diameter !

Now the more Speedhole to valve ratio you get the more threoritcal HP you get !

You do have to be carefull tho as you may exeed the total usable number thus raising external cylinder head pressure to a higher threshold than internal thus creating a Pressure differential anomally across the plenum. In this case should you open the bonett of the car you will be sucked inside the throttle bodies and must wait untill the next clean to be released again frown.gif

This can be measured using Excel Just replace your actual Torque curve with one using the number of hypothetical Speedholes as the control points

There you have it 800bhp Speedhole Mod !

Yeah but its all very well you say this nico.

Have you seen what it does to fuel economy frown.gif

Do I need to tell my insurance company???

Well Andrew that depends on how brave you feel.

I mentioned it to mine and the price went up from £562.00 a year to £800.00 or £1 per speedhole i had fitted.

The thing is if you happen to have an accident and they summerize the cause to have been from your speedholes, your in big trouble.

Ahh you see - Yes Speed holes do have a negative effect on fuel consumption - However the good point about them is you can make 800rwhp with Stock injectors which we all know is perfectly possible! OK you probably are gonna need stage 2 turbos to cope with the compressor surge from the speed holes!

Basically you wanna drill holes at the exact point of the upper plenum that is hit by the turbulant air that is displaced by the valves - To get the exact points just pour a well of ink into your intake and crank the engine - drillin the speedholes after every suction stroke !

Fook me, sounds like a top mod.

Is there such a mod for the S13?

Is it something I could get someone like SE to do, or do you think I'd be able to do it myself.

Knowing SE I bet they don't even know what speed holes are!!!!

Andy, ring them see if they'll give you a price?

Any company worth its salt will know about the speedhole mod.

Jezz as far as getting speedholes, it is very very difficult to get the diametre accurate for the ammout of compression inside the plenum.

They recommend to get the basic speedhole kit, then get the speedhole upgrade and do it likewise in stages of .02mm per hole.

The kits come in

.5mm

1.0mm

5.mm

Is it possible to fit temporary speed holes so that if my insurance company want to look at the car I can take them off??? Also if I wanted to do a long journey and didn't want the poor fuel economy....

Well they do do the SPEEDHOLE120 kit which is removable. But not advisable for cars over 2.8 litres.

I believe GREDDY do a Variable vein speed hole whos apartuer can be varied. You can connect it to your SBC-SH and controll Boost to speedhole size on the fly !

OK then who's up for a group buy on these??? C'mon guyZ its easy power!!! stock injectors and 800bhp just think of it!!!! Jezz maybe you could get some interest on the 200 board???
