What has happened today with this ? I heard on the radio that it had all been switched off but I've just spoken to the other half and she says E4 is still on (since they play non stop Aly Mcbeal and Friends she doesn't watch any other channels).

Apparently E4 is being shown for two weeks (ish), or so ive heard.

i also hate football. Bunch of fannies around the pitch they get payed god knows how much for it and they still cant score more than about 2 goals in 90 mins in a team of 11 (or whatever I dont know the tech). Then some1 treads on their toe and they roll for ages, get stretchered off the pitch, and take a few weeks of full paid time off for it. The money involved is ridiculous. NOBODY is worth 50,000 a WEEK for kicking a crappy ball round a pitch. I know a lot of ppl with as much talent as those guys in those teams do but they aint on millions are they. We get football in our faces on the news when u wake up, on the radio on ur way to work/school in my case smile.gif, how can anyone be so obsessed with some nancy boys running round a pitch!

Then a (the only) digital aerial service goes down the pan because the clubs demand more money to show ppl like us who dont care about footy footy. So they can pay more to the greedy players so they can drive their fancy cars and live in their posh houses and live the ****ing lifestyle!

Anywya ill stop now before i get really wound up!

Although I'm not a football fan, I have great sympathy for those affected by this.

What really annoys me is that the owners of ITV Digital (Granada and Carlton) have shedloads of money and COULD sort this problem out. But they don't see it as an earner for themselves and so they don't do the morally right thing.

As a result, loads of us lose the service and, far more importantly, the people involved in the football deal lose their jobs. No-one deserves that.

W@nkers.

Yup a lot of people are getting stuffed over this frown.gif

Football Rocks!!!

Paul

Yep football rocks!!

OK so most of the footballers are over paid wingers we wince at the thought of being tackled but I am not and neither are most of of the 'grass roots' footballers!

My injuries so far;

4 stiches to cut above eye (played on)

10 stitches to chin and fractured jaw (told to leave fied of play, under protest)

5 stitches in gashed leg (played on)

concussion 3 times (was forced out of game)

broken hand (played on)

dislocated shoulder (erm, hospital!)

dislocated all fingers on both hands (not pleasant and also hospital)

Cracked rib (played on cause I didn't notice till after)

briused toe nails (loads of times, have both big nails off at the moment)

Torn Hamstring (worst one of the lot, that is painful and was off my feet for 4 weeks)

And that's about it, lots of pulls and strains and things of that nature but hey it's all good fun!

I love my football.

Picked up from another forum :

-----------------------------------------

If you have a Pace Digital TV adaptor, then it's worthwhile re-scanning for new channels.

ITV sport is now free-to-view, and I've just received the attached e-mail from Pace which states that FilmFour and E4 are running free-to-view !!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Dear All,

Many of us are receiving calls asking whether the free-to-view services on

DTT will continue. The answer, of course, is yes.

There is a particular technical issue which has generated some misleading

press comment. It is over the running of the central SI collator which

builds SI table for cross-carriage of all SI in all mulitplexes. It

appears that the ITV Digital administrators will only support this

operation for three weeks or so, during which time it must be acquired by

another operator. The BBC are said to be attempting to buy the facility.

Meanwhile, please note that, besides the normal line-up of free-to-view

channels, the ITV Sport Channel, Film Four and E4 are currently running

unencrypted. Messages with the last two assure viewers that the two

services are available 'without charge' while 'the future of the pay

platform is decided'

ITN News Channel is now available free-to-view all day. QVC and TV Travel

Shop continue to broadcast.

Kind Regards,

Pace Micro Technology

This really fuckin surprises me alot.

I am lucky enough to employ myself and will be skiving off work...watching all the England games on me great big 44" TV, with a digital picture, dolby digital 6 channel surround, a 8-pack of strongbow and 20 Marlboro.

BTW footie fans, a London DJ has remixed Paul Weller's 'Going Underground' as the new England footie anthem for the world cup - heard it on Virgin Radio and it rocks.

COMMMMOOONNNN ENGERLAND!!!!!!

Glen
