Well i've had my new zed for a few weeks with no real issues, overall she's drove as sweet as a nut. Only small issue was slight hesitation (when warm) putting it into a gear, revs drop any nearly stalls, (did a few times) Well today she's been fine, then i take her out about an hour ago and all hell brakes loose. i feel like the engine is running on rusty nuts and bolts, its missing or misfiring badly, and i mean badly, i daren't stop incase it stalls and wont start. Only thing i can say happened is before i went i was looking down the back of the engine, between engine and bulkhead where there are big looms and a connector , positioned vertical. whilst moving the loom…

I wanted to have a test drive with the white caged 300ZXTT before the Spa classic meeting next week, so I drove some 780 miles during this last long week end in France (8/9/10/11 of May)... We organized a Datsun-Nissan meet in Sancerre with 10-12 cars (depending on days and avaliability) including 240Z, 260Z, 280Z, Silvia, 280ZX Turbo, Z31 and Z32. I drove 200 miles from Reims to Sancerre: Nice drive, under dry weather conditions... and speed limits! Very enjoyable, with new tires, new brake pads, and all the checks done since a few weeks! We stayed in a camping site along the Loire, and visited around driving 370 miles over the two days Fri/Sat: Nice small roads, s…

Hello guys Just a bit of advice please took my zx on its first long run the other day all was fine until I took it over 70mph. White smoke was bellowing out. This last for about 5 secs and then it was ok for about 10-15 mins and then again a more few times. There was also a slight smell of what think was oil. There is no reduction in power. The oil pressure gauge appears normal. I was considering taking it up to Jeff at zed world to give it good once over. Thanks Lou

Well did a bit of work to the old girl this weekend, changed the inlet manifold gasket, rocker cover gasket and also changed a few of the rubber hoses as well. But got a boom shell from work friday saying i'll be posted to canada come end of june:sad:. The first thing that came to mind before the family was "oh no my Z". might be away for maybe three year and I know what you guys gonna say put it in storage. as much as it hurts me to think about it but might be selling the Z. Still looking at a plan B but if it dosen't go as planned then I might have to sell her.

Guys, I posted a while back about dropping the sump with engine in situ to investigate a big end knock on pot 6, which I have now done ( actually very easy to do - hardest part was physically getting the sump off with all the silicon gluing it on!) So, I find that the big ends have been replaced with ACL bearings dated 2007 - I owned the car from about 2008 onwards and it's done probably less than a mile in all that time (embarrassing I know!) as I slowly work through all the issues on her... In other words I suspect it has the problem before and has been poorly repaired previously. 1 to 5 seem fine, but with a little end float (didn't check if it's in spe…

Hi People, l was offered a set of skyline gtr alloys today, really nice at a good price as well! The trouble is all the wheels are the same width 9.5 as on a 300zx they are a staggered fitment, so was wondering if anyone has tried this before on a Z or can tell me if there will be usable or not?

Hi guys, Was wondering if I could have your advice on brake pads, I own a 1992 300zx TT UK model and at the moment since I bought the car 3 months ago it has front and rear standard size Tarox discs and pads with standard calipers, the discs are fine but the brake pads will need changing very soon what is the best Top 4 for road use and where will be the cheapest place to buy them from.

The next step on my na is the brakes and suspension, Already chosen the big brakes so that's easy But does anyone have any experience with compatibility on the Na? Seen loads of shiny bit japspeed, ams etc that do adjustable arms etc but will they fit an na? Just thinking fronts probably ok, but rears a different subframe... I know the coilovers will be fine.

As above but really I have to thank Mark, for his advice to my mechanic on sorting out an issue with one of the pedals. As the guy had never done a conversion on a z, he had made a mistake and had thought the clutch servo was for something else and all wasn't going in correctly, so he was for machining a bracket. So when I called at lunchtime Friday for a progress report to push him to finish the car, he showed me the problem. Phoned Mark and after he and the mechanic were free, Mark told him the mistake he had made and how it should go together with a few handy tips to get it sorted. So thanks again Mark for your help and advice as people on here have amazed…

OK - so the Zed has Gaz coilovers on rather than std suspension. This has created an even stiffer ride than the Teins I used to have and although this may be ideal for the track, just driving around is getting uncomfortable. Part of the problem is that although the rears have been adjusted to a soft setting (which makes the rear bounce), the fronts cannot be adjusted and are set on the stiffest level. So, I am after any ideas on how to make the ride more comfortable. Is it worth looking at other parts of the suspension at all? Any help appreciated. Greg

Hi all, hope someone can assist, When I started driving my Zed today i noticed it sounded different, and there was quite a clear squeaking coming from what sounded like one of the belts, When i got to my destination I took a look around the belts, and they didn't look great, but nothing substantial, just a bit old. But then I saw this sitting at the bottom of the engine bay: Now is this coincidence? or is this what is causing the noise? And if it is one of the belts, do you think I should not risk travelling to Japfest tomorrow, and just put it in the garage ASAP? Help would be much appreciated, Alex

So decided to take a spin after a few months in storage and the car stalls in gear at around 3000rpm  It revs perfectly fine in neutral. Checked connectors, plugs, air leaks and all seem fine. I haven’t got access to a Conzult but will run the manual ECU diagnostic at the weekend. I’m guessing it’s a fuelling issue (pump, fuel control unit, fuel filter?). Is there anything else I should look for? Thanks
