Just purchased a kph to mph speedo convertor on Fleabay, to go with a new MPH facia. Apparently it also changes the mileometer to miles, and deresctricts....who is the recognised verifyer of the mileometer(currently in km) reading when this is changed? Or can it be done as part of the MOT report?

Hello gents have a very strange issue with my 300zx. Its a twin turbo auto, 100k miles and has pretty standard mods (cone filter, decat, remap). I have just replaced turbos due to smoking and car was running fine. I have had this issue on and off since i have had this car. Basically it is very intermittent power loss. The car will run faultlessly fr a week in a row, then you turn the key and it takes half throttle just to move off. Feels like it is pulling a tank! Last time it happened i ran the car, had the issue. Then turned it off and on again and the car was back to normal completely. At first it would only happen once a month or so but now happens every few days. …

A thought just occured to me, i've been an MR2 driver on and off for 10 years now, and one thing i always liked was the auto gear stick, it just felt nice and snug in my hand. Now we've got the aesthetics out of the way, from the picture you can see it has the same selector arrangement, "manu" and "power" are the "hold" and "power" buttons, size wise i'm sure it could be moulded to fit the gap, so all i need now is someone who knows the mechanical arrangement of the selector and could one be used in place of the other, So any one clever out there can advise me?

I have a bit if whining from gearbox when in neutral and clutch 'not pressed' (de-pressed), which gets better when warm (then you cannot hear that much of it). It has been there for years, and not really got much worse, but I am going to swap Clutch in coming weeks, and tempted to see if I could change the 'Input shaft bearing' without too much work when it is out of car. Know that 'slight whine' may be from other bearings on main shaft, but suspect that input bearing is the most likely. Can you swap the input shaft bearing without splitting the whole box? What I look to determine is if it can be done by taking the front cover plate off (which will be taken off …

Just asking what you lot have got in your car in the way of gauges. Oil, boost, water Temp. I need to upgrade mine to a more modern feel. Don't want to break the bank, just a nice set of good looking accurate dials. Cheers

I used Jeffs excellent handbrake adjustment guide and have got the shoes sorted and working great. The actual handbrake lever still has a bit of slack at the first 2 clicks though and I need to adjust the actual handbrake lever. How do I actually get in there to adjust it? Had a go but stopped before I snapped bits lol. Cheers.

Okay, here we go. car is LWB NA '91 Import. dont know if that matters but hey.. it usually does. Which is easier when putting on ne down pipes. drilling out 5 sheared bolts or removing the manifolds and grinding off the stud heads and knocking them through... 17. What have people got (with pics)? I'm thinking of going for 70% drop glass and rear quarters with 50% rear screen. I currently have limo black rear screen which I'm not a fan of. I also have limo black rear quarters but I don't like the contrast between them and the drop glass and think they would look better with a matching tint. Discuss.

Well the sad day has finally come and my Zed will be leaving me tonight to go to someone that can afford to give her the love she deserves. I will be back in a Zed at some point but with trying to raise the deposit for a mortgage may not be for a year or two:crying: I will be taking her out for one last blast round some nice country roads after I've had my dinner though. I feel like I've died a little inside, god help me when I see the new owner driving her away.

If this has been asked before please gforgive me but I am a Newbie to the forum. Can anyone help.:helpsmilie: While my car was undergoing new injectors I got the Z mechanic to swap over the low beam headlight bulbs to xenon ones replacing the stock bulbs. Really wished I hadn't as the light emission is diabolical! - like driving on side lights. I have been advised that I should try E46 with eom 4300k d2s bulbs these are usually fitted to BMW's. Now,.... I am a complete moron when it comes to bulbs/electrics {and a few other things too it must be said} but apparantly the cooler {blue-er} the light, the less light it actually throws, putting it in simple terms. But …

  23. Just drove up and back this afternoon to get my Zed off Jeff, after he put me a one piece prop on, deleted the hicas and a full service. What a difference!! I can't believe how different the car is with the prop. The car feels brand new. Only problem I had was it pi##ed it down with rain all the way back to Andover. Thanks a lot Jeff!, running nice bud!!! Just the brakes now lol

May I take the opportunity to thank both these guys . Managed to get a full manual conversion from JaiKai (gearbox is absolutely great ) I originally learnt through the forum that Jaikai's manual conversion was at Lee Dents in Shrewsbury so I thought I would be a little cheeky and ask Lee if he would do the conversion for me. (I am not a great mechanic and don't have much space at the moment) Managed to get it over to Lee at LA Autos Just after my birthday to get the bits fitted . I also chose to get the decat down pipes from Japspeed for the 300zx.co.uk members price so thought it would be an ideal time to do this with the transmission out . Lee went …
