Hi guys justa quick question. I got my zx mapped with nistune about 6 months ago. At that time it had a cone air filter, decatted exhaust, and was pretty stock otherwise. It made 335bhp, wasnt that happy with that:(. Anyway I've since fitted bigger z centre side mounts and a new fuel pump, question is do I need another remap? And what power gains do you reckon I could get? Thanks!

My steering rack looks like it's past its best, is it best to replace it or can it be repaired? If it needs replacing, do I need to go new or will a used one be ok. If it's repairable how East is it to do it?

is any one on here running bored throttle bodies ? I see z1 over in the us used to sell them but don't anymore due to leaks. I see some people have fitted 240sx bodies but need a lot of work to fit them. can anyone on here do that work mod them to fit ? is there any other options for running a bigger throttle bodies ?

  4. After a left or right turn and I accelerate there is a momentary rattle that's seems to be coming from the front passenger side area. The rattle starts at low pitch then phases out soon after.. It's very hard to explain the noise I will try to take a video to show the noise. Thanks

  6. well i did a 100mile round trip today just for the hell of it, plus the first drive after sorting my electrical gremlins etc, so it was a roof off day, hay on wye was one of the many towns i passed through and it made me smile the amount of people walking past while i was sat in traffic saying things like 'wow it's a z', 'that's a zx not seen one of those in years', 'what a lovely example of a 300'

Has anyone done this? I'm going to do mine, but haven't seen anyone else do it yet. I'm using the master bushing kit, will I need anything else? I'm then going to fit the engine to it and fit to the car from underneath, has anyone done it this way, any problems I should know about?

  8. Gents, I've done a few searches but cant quite get the right answer so here goes, Now as we know the underneath of our zeds rot like nothing else, so a couple of years ago I cleaned under the zed, repaired all the rust and coated all the underside with a product called aquasteel that promised to keep rust away http://www.aquasteel.co.uk/ also used stonechip on everything including the subframe and then waxoil. now the zed has been stored in the garage for two years and not seen any rain, it had an mot lastweek and I was surprised to see that all the underside rear subframe and rear area was all a nice rust colour, the guy in the mot station said it w…

Car's been sat for a little over 2mths now with clutch problems. Managed to sort that but needed to jump the car each time to get it in/out of the garage. Took it for a 40min drive today and when I got home tried testing the battery by simply restarting the engine and it's still flat as a pancake. I would think that with a 40min drive it should have taken some charge! Not sure why but would this be pointing to a new battery. Thus one's had no problems whatsoever since I put it in about 4+ years ago. Can anyone recommend a place to get a battery? Also - can anyone remind me of the spec we need as I can't find the paperwork at the moment! On a related no…

Hi guys, Got my car back on Thursday after a manual conversion and its great, seems a lot faster. My only issue is when I put my foot on the clutch you can hear the release bearing quite badly spinning. Is this standard on a manual or is the bearing knackered. Hate the thought of having to get the box pulled out again.

Having done a few of these but not for a while, the word got round it seems as I was asked to do another pair by..............well if he cares to divulge that's up to him !! It involves putting a smd halo ring around the projector housing, doesn't really show up on a pic but in real life the lights emitted are all individual. I completely re furbish and clean, I have sprayed black the insert as per customer request, the top and bottom rubber brackets have been rubbed back and black sprayed also, the bottom one is not visible but the top one is, so it's important this one especially is perfect. All the adjusters are now working and well greased for wha…

I noticed recently jeff said this was quite common. Anyway I fired the car up today and it made a horrific tapping noise, after starting to worry I started looking over the engine and discovered it was bottom end. More worried face. Then I pressed the clutch and it stopped, ah ha. After an inspection and a poke the starter has come loose. So I know the bottom fixing bolt was partly stripped on the gearbox female side. So, what's the best way to do it? Do I; 1. Pop the starter off the car, re drill the the holes on the starter to 12mm. Then tap the block at m12 and then install two studs and Locktye them in. 2. Same as above but use some m12 bolts. 3. Helicoil…

I wonder why this is up for sale again? Maybe not quite what it seems? Misleading engine bay photo too. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1993-NISSAN-300-ZX-TURBO-AUTO-UK-CAR-AMAZING-HISTORY-IMMACULATE-/221447866778?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item338f52499a

I remember, maybe a couple months ago, someone was renovating their headlights. I'm in the middle of doing a similar thing. Is anyone able to tell me where I can get replacement gears - I know this isn't the right sections, but if anyone has one of the smaller round rubber bulb seals, please message me. I saw all four on Ebay for £10, but I'm only missing one. Thanks! :)

Big shout out and thanks to znut for supplying me with a van load of goodies. I was well impressed and shocked at what he parted with for the cost of what I parted with. 80% of the components he gave now reside at lee dents and will be well used in my engine rebuild. The road was long but had absolutely no issues on the way and back this time so that was great. Thanks again

What you guys think about the way car is sitting with new wheels? 45 profile on rear, 40 on front. I've got a set of Kyb shocks and Eiback lowering springs to fit yet. The rear seams to be sitting up to much..

Last year I replaced my near side smoking turbo for a used unit. It has lasted me 12 months but has now also started to smoke on idle. I have however only noticed it has started to smoke since installing an atmospheric bov on that side, could that have had an effect on making my turbo on that side smoke? What are my options for turbo replacement? I would only want new, branded units and preferably more powerful ones... Thanks, Dan
