Well had time today to clean all the connectors and double check again why cylinder 1 has gone down. I had spark and the injector ohmed within range at 12.6 ohms, so i unplugged the injector while the car was running and made no difference, so i knew then i must trace the problem further back, so having read about another member having an issue with the ECU, i thought i would start there. I took the ECU out of the car and opened her up, all looked fine on the front of the board and the secondary board, so continued with the rear of the main board and i could see instantly the problem, green corroded pins on two adjacent pins on the board, which co-inside with the fe…

Been out in the zed all day and the more I drive it the worse the tick over getting:) settles to 800ish at first then the hotter it gets the more erratic it becomes! At some points it's up at nearly 2000 rpm when stationery at the lights:cursing:have to keep blipping the throttle to make it go back to 1000rpm,and it's running rough at low speeds again:no:,bl--dy car.

HI guys n girls My car has the rear HICAS eliminated. I now want to remove the HICAS cylinder/controller thingy on the front inner wing I understand that i need to cut the metal pipe which connects to the HICAS unit (the pipe nearest the Headlight) and then connect it directly to the rubber pipe that goes from the Fluid reservoir to the HICAS thingy. There are two other pipes coming from the HICAS controller which are lower down, and disappear downwards into the engine bay. I guess these go off to the rear axle? What do I do with those two? Also will all the fluid come gushing out (ooh err) and do I need to bleed the power steering once i have d…

Was going over my zed with the bodyshop guy today, my front fenders are really rusted as is the tailgate, Saw that zcentre sell vented fibreglass ones, are there any benefits to fitting them over having mine repaired? And the glass will have to come out of the tailgate for paint, worth changing to a tub or plastic if I could find one? The old z's my trackday toy, so looks aren't important but I hate to see rust lol...

So I bought a 1992 300zx TT Import with a slight misfire/hesitation and thought it would've been a simple fix. It seems not. I've replaced the spark plugs, the fuel filter, swapped out the miniscule battery for a beefier one and ran injector cleaner through the engine. The misfire occurs when it's cold and continues to do so until the needle is about a quarter in its travel. Once I boot it when its warmed up there is no misfire and she runs smoothly. Except for yesterday. It was late at night, and chucking it down with rain. Usually when all the components are warm the misfire disappears, but this time it was odd. When i put my foot down slightly the engin…

It would be nice to get my car onto a rolling road and be mapped and boost set to what the car can comfortably take. It currently runs 10psi with a decat, mushroom filters and a Mines ECU. A friend suggested a stand alone ecu, as the Mines one probably wont be able to be tuned. What does a stand alone ecu mean? I have heard Horsham Developments down South are good with Nistune... Again, I`m lost lol! Can anyone shed some light onto this for me? And maybe someone in the Midlands that has had experience tuning 300ZX`s Many thanks, Dan

I have been looking for parts to complete my zed and saw this on youtube recently. It is a Zed with a Hiro rear cover for the rear lights - see below. I already have the side skirts and rear arches, but want to achieve the whole look as in the yellow one. Do I start searching on the Japan Yahoo auctions do you think? Any help appreciated!

I recently discovered that my Zed is still running the J-spec ECU so revs and top end are electronically limited. As such I can pull past 115mph (not that I ever would or do  Trying to find a replacement ECU is proving somewhat difficult and the aftermarket parts are crazy money imo. I've contacted Whifbitz and Jim Wolf to ask for some advice. A mate advised me that I should also try you guys. The car is a 1995 TT Auto. It's pretty standard except for an Apexi Exhaust and Apexi Induction Kit. Are there any Welsh companies that can assist or should I order a Jim wolf ECU for $600 bucks? Regards Paul

would really be interested to see what work you have done and what parts you have used and what the bhp and tq was in the end and what issues you had. just engine and exhaust intakes cam head work pistons turbos ecu tuning boost levels ect...not body work or wheels or or any think like that think it would make a good thread that people could benefit in the future when looking to do engine work for more power and would be of a good read.

Hey guys. Right, time to return this 300zx to life. In red are the areas I really need help. Car is a NASP Manual Heres the back story: Drove onto a guys drive. Parked up. Sat for 7 years and not moved (no idea of the Handbrake was on or not). I put a battery on it and it fired up no bother (drove it 300yards on tickover and turned it off). Only issue to report is a bad idle. Brakes weren't really seized. I now plan to service the car and MoT it. What I plan on doing for Mot: So far I've bought a cheap oil filter and some 5/30w oil from Asda. These are literally to put in the car for it's MoT. It will be trailered to the MoT stat…

I'm right on the edge of ordering some new wheels from the States, but could do with some thoughts on the fitment before I fork out for them. I've seen them on a couple of zeds in this size, and I would like to have an idea of what is required and what to expect when it comes to fitting them on. I will soon have coilovers fitted and looking at adjustable arms. 19 x 9.5 et22 Front 19 x 10.5 et22 Rear Any input greatly appreciated :)

Ok, so have the box ready and a ramp lined up. few things I'd like to know if anyone would be willing to give advice. Is there a guide on here which shows removal and re-fitting , cant seem to find one Is there any extra bits I would need? like gaskets? obviously ATF III which I have already. The filling part, im going to assume theres still some oil in it as when I moved it some came out of the end. so what is the best way to drain and re-fill the torque convertor? is there a filler hole for just the torque ? and the total amount of oil is 7.7 litres ? Thanks for all your help ive had recently with my problems with the box, never would ha…
