Can anyone tell me what the standard psi guage underneath the speedo on a UK TT is actually reading. The one that reads -14 to 0 to +14. Mine reads approx -12 on idle and under full throttle never extends beyond 0. Cheers. Andrew

I cleaned the throttle bodies today and she started putting out blue smoke when idling, both cold and when warms up. Is it time to panic:confused:

I now have the heater matrix article that explains why not to earth the matrix, in PDF format. Two issues: How can I eMail to AndyP and Grant or in fact anyone? Since I need to attach the PDF, the eMail To feature doesn't cut it unless I've missed something Better still, how can I make it more readily avialble to all and sundry. I can't work out how (if it is possible??) to include a PFD in a message

Who do I make my cheque payable to, and who do I send it to for membership here? I've been debating for a long time over whether to sell the Zed or not, but now I've finally decided not to, so i'm prepared to pay up here!

Is this common or what i have 2 zeds and both tapping like a demented wood pecker, but on my auto it stops after few sec but the manual just goes on and on. I been told that they have hydrolic lifters [24 of em] and can be a nightmare to pin point. Is this correct or should i look @ a different angle. cheers Dave

Car was driving fine up to last week 1991 UK auto. I have started to notice that when flooring it in first gear it started to hesitate at 7000 rpm and dropped to 2nd after a couple of seconds. Now its after getting worse. Wont drop from first gear at all unless I take my foor of the accelarator. Also its finding it difficult to stay in overdrive. The slightest pressure on acceleartor when cruising wil cause it to drop to third. between 2nd and third she seems to be slipping i.e when flooring the revs will rise but the car wont accelerate then all of a sudden she bites and takes off. Box was only rebuilt 2 years ago. Am I in Deep S?%t or might an au…

I tried to do an ECU diagnostic on my car. Took the carpet out, removed the footboard and looked at the ECU. It doesn't have a potentiometer or LED window. Where those are supposed to be, my ECU just has holes. WTF?? Is the ECU different between UK cars and imports?

Can anyone confirm if a jap ecu will work in a UK car. The car is an auto if that makes a difference and the ecu's would both be from autos. Cheers Vijay

Mmm. thought you might like to share a workshop incident that beggers belief. Zed came in running..well rough and very unsettled, quick word with owner confirms a newish owner (3 months) not too mechanical minded but basically aware of how an engine works. Usual visual checks, nothing, engine ticking over (1100rpm?) fully warmed up and sounding odd, not smooth almost smoothered, gasping, any attempt to change throttle position resulted in either cut out or a severe stumble. Connected conzult all parameters showing in range (concidering high tick over) except air ratio too high..... rich? actually no, the 02 sensors were spot on and the Co2 readings actu…

The paint's bubbled in part and the composition underneath has crumbled. Bought whole boot lid in blue last year, way before I found this BB, intending to have it swopped and repainted. Might simpler = cheaper if someone could help me with a red spoiler??

Yes this again. I have more to add to it. Here are the symptoms. White smoke when I am in traffic. The exhaust tips get covered in soot in about 50 miles of driving after cleaning them. I am not losing water. I am not losing coolent. I am not losing oil. All are checked and are the same level they have been for a while. My car stinks of petrol when driving. Took it for a drive today with the roof off, and I nearly died from the smell of the fumes. It was really THAT bad. However when I drove in first about 4000-4500 rpm for a while the smell went but soon as I went back to just crusing around 1500-2000 rpm the smell came back. This sugge…

would 20" with 225/35 profile tires fit a 300zx? if so would the performance/handling/brakes be badly afectted? the rims in question are mania vernmot chrome, iv seen a nova, 206 cc, 106 and other small cars running 19"s so why not 20s on a Z?

OK, this is a long shot - but before I place an order with Courtesy for same - does anyone have a duff speed sensor from a USA spec (160MPH speedo'd) 300ZX TT! I just want the gearing so that I can convert my speedo to an accurate 160MPH! I purchased great gauges from eBay for 26USD and the gear costs 14USd plus postage - it's a no brainer! Any help appreciated! AndyGP

Hello all. having recently purchased a '94' 300ZX and very happy too, I notice that the cam belt was changed at 56000 miles (4500 ago) but not the water pump. Are all agreed that the pump should be replaced now or will it survive for a while? Would it still be cheaper to buy the kit from Courtesy? All good advice gratefully received.

Is the Zed going out of fashion or something? I`ve never seen so many for sale. Even when I was looking for mine about a year back they were like gold dust, now they`re at dealers, on ebay, autotrader, everywhere and lots of em! Are we experiencing a migration from the Zed or are these all just fly by night zedders?

Jeff Thanks for the tip with getting the rad out all i did in the end is block the pipes up with a small rag, it worked a treat for as long as it took to get the rad out. When i filled it up it did not leak but has soon as i put it back in the Z and filled the rad it started to drip, any chance you can test it for me next week? you could also have a good look at my oil prob and see if you want to do it and when. Can you get one of these rads? How much ? can they be repared ?. Ken ;)

My beautiful, elegant, handsome red TT has failed the MOT test. Brake pipes over the transmission need replacing. Local garage reckons anything in region of £1000 - £3000. I do not have the time, proper space or facilities to fix it myself. Mechanically sound (fsh, stick, alloys, Thatcham 2, K reg.) and she is a UK car. Maybe someone would like to buy her for fixing (Or spares... but please don't tell me that, I'd hate think of her being broken up). Perhaps there's an enthusiast who would like to fix things for me?

Hi Guy's Last night tried to go out in the car and it didn't start, looks like the battery wasn't cranking good enough, almost started. So left it on charge overnight, tried again this morning and the same. I'll go get a new battery this morning.as it's been getting low for a while now, kept on meaning to give it a good charge but never got round to it. Anyway i'm now worried sick that it still wont start with a new battery. Could it now be flooded!!!! Any ideas!!! Just realised they look a little daunting when they don't start!!!. A very worried ZX owner!!. Any help much appreciated. Cheers Dave. ( ZX N/A )

Dodgy Sales Not only does the one advertised for 4k look rougher than a rough thing on a rough day contained in a rough week (and for those of you that have good eye's it used to be red, check out the bottom of the bumper near the front tyre!!) Look at the state of the one behind it!!! The ad says 'No Dreamers', he must be dreaming if he thinks he's going to sell that, I think he would have trouble giving it away for spares............... *NB - All above is my opinion and my opinion only, feel free to add your own! :D Matty.
