Right, it looks like due to the cost of a garage to remove the engine and supply turbos (£1700 on average) I am going to have to remove the engine myself and fit them. I have managed o locate a lock up which I can rent out for a month only, is this long enough? What advice can anyone give me? I have fitted a turbo on a CVH and also done several CVH (escort turbo) engine removals and refits so I know a thing or two about engine removal. All advise would be appreciated, also is there anything I might as well do whilst the engine is out apart from check for obvious oil leaks (the engine sounds sweet). Thanks again guys. got car back today after whoopsie with oil etc blah blah blah...£140.00 and all sorted, oil, filter, etc and check on conzult, all ok now - phew!! Problem is, coming back from garage, happened to glance at aftermarket temp gauge, and it said 230f. now, im no mechanic, but im thinking thats gonna cook the lump. Stock gauge in normal place. just under half way, seemingly all ok. So is the gauge buggered, OR is the car running at 230f, no hissing, smoke etc and after she cooled down checked coolant etc and all o.k, any ideas folks, its an autometer gauge (electrical) and has veen fed from the temp sensor on rad(spliced wires) vicky x x

I know I should look it up in the search....well I have and haven't found the answer I need!!;) Can I get classic car insurance with a 1990 Japanese import? My missus has a Pajero ( another import!!) and to try and save some money on our respective insurances , I was wondering if I could have the Z on classic and say the Pajero was the second car. Then have the missus as a named driver on them both! Unfortunately the Pajero is in her name. Is this all wishfull thinking or has anyone got any ideas on this and also what the hell I'm talking about!!:D :D Cheers, F.T.

Thought I'd see what plugs were in my car and found PFR7B-11. I understand these to be meant for the N/A version. Will it be ok to run the car on these or should I replace them with PFR6-11C? Thanks Jon

Hi guys, What are the standard speakers sizes? What is the max I could fit without fannying on too much (front and rear)? I had Boston Pros (Front) and Kappa Infinity (Rear) on my Supra and they sounded good, especially when I installed a twin 10" Sub. I want to avoid the sub though, so I need to know an ideal setup without!!! Regards, Peter

Just wondering where you'd stand if you purchased something from Ebay and it doesn't turn up, do you have any come back with Ebay and also what about if you paid by credit card (through Paypal), would you be covered by their insurance, even though it's an internet auction. Cheers Vijay

ok - car was being set up on the rolling road on Friday. Long story short the engine shuts down at 440whp apparently cos the ECU thinks its overboosting. I'm looking at getting either 555's or 720 injectors ; can I just use an FCD or should I go for a chip. If so any suggestions on make/model eg JWT, Mines etc. Another option I was looking at was an Apexi power FC to replace my SAFC & AVCR. Any comments will be appreciated. Cheers AdamR

I have just noticed a funny noise on my 300zx 1990 it sound like a clock, clock clock (or a horse walking) and it seems to be coming form the drivers side and when you open the door and you have the air pipe that join the door, it seems to be coming form with in there ( tube). nothing was on (eg air con) and you cant here it from under the bonnet it only happens when the engine is on, but it sounds like something bubbling what could be in the air /con heater pipes area I just want to know what it is

Hi One of the down pipes is blowing just before the join with the cat. I'd like to replace it with a good old straight through setup, bypassing the cats (e.g. scarab front downpipes supplied by the Zed Centre). However, the standard downpipes appear to have a big pipe connecting each of them to what appears to be the water cooling system??? However, the Scarab downpipes appear to make no provision for this connection. Is this (water??) pipe just blocked off? Likewise, the sensors that attach to the cat, are they left unconnected? Thanks Jon

Hi Guys I checked out my suspension yesterday and found to my surprise that it's equipped with aftermarket shocks. I haven't a clue of their spec only that the rears say: Trust 2G08R KYB and the fronts: Trust 2G08FL KYB Does anyone know anything about these? The rears are adjustable. Unfortunately the rears are leaking. If I replaced them with standard shocks, would the rear suspension be out of balance with the front? Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Cheers Jon

Finally got one. It's grey Jap one with Nice alloys Z centre exhaust & induction kit. 1 or 2 bits to be sorted out but generally reet good condition. Andy Duff checked it over tonight & recons it's a good un, apart from the bits he pointed out. I must admit I wondered if I'd made a mistake for the first half hour but after bringing it all the way from Slough to Preston I realise that I can never be parted now & am in no doubt that I own the greatest car the world. Big thanks to Andy for making the problems with it seem minor. I'll tell you it feels good to live round the corner from this man. I do like to do a long drawn out post from time to time but to…
