Just topped up the clutch fluid and can't get the lugs on the cap to engage. Is this going to be a problem? I don't think that they were engaged before, but ...

Can some clarify a few things for me. The Racelogic system should cut the pulse to the fuel injectors and therefore limit the power through to the wheels. Why do I get clouds of black unburnt fuel behind me when the traction control kicks in? Are there some default preferred setting for the Z? Steve E

I wonder if anyone can help. I have a black 90TT jap import with an auto box. At junctions for example, when I start off I press the accelerator and nothing happens for a second and then the car moves! the engine is warm and this has only started happening. It is like there is a dead zone at the intial stage of acceleration. There are no judders when the box moves up a gear. only happens in first. Any one help?? Cheers Ian

My new clutch got fitted over the weekend. It's an RPS Street, as supplied by Smithy. Feels just the same as the old one. Work was done by a guy just outside Chelmsford as recommended by Mike Feeney. He's a good guy and I would also recommend him for anyone in the approximate area who needs similar work done. BTW turns out that the old clutch was not completely knackered and still had some wear left in it, it's just that the monster torque of the auto engine was more than enough to overcome the clamping force of the standard clutch !

Okay.. driving into work this morning.. got to one roundabout in MK, slowed down, sitting in traffic thinking.. hang on this feels a bit rough.. glanced at all guages.. all okay, oil pressure a bit on the low side, but that gauge is about as useful as a chocolate fireguard.. idle however is down to about 500/600 and getting a lot of lumpy shake on the car. My exhaust is blowing a bit at the moment, so quickly turned off radio, popped window down and that's serving to make the "chug chug" sound of the engine all the more prominent. Still sitting in traffic a distinctly oily smell has accompanied the problem.. chugged into work (literally) not getting much power out of …

Thanks for all the help on "Rear seat removal". I am planning to be in UK in July on holiday with a hire car. Is there any good places I could call into to get bits such as panel fittings etc for my 1986 300ZX. I would look in a wreckers here in Perth but the local supplies are limited.

Had a run in with a big convertable Merc full of lads today. Was on the M20 stuck behind a slow moving car with them on my arse. As the car in front got out of the way I booted it. Had the boost set on 1 bar so shot off. I could see them trying to keep up but was clearly pulling away. Anyway, me being reasonably sensible and not wanting to exceed the speed limit(x2) by much stopped accelerating. They caught me up and went past at some silly speed punching the air like they'd won a Grand Prix. How I laughed...

Hey folks, Just recently, my zed started making a nasty noise from the front pass side wheel area. When I'm turning right, mostly round roundabouts, there's a screetchy/whiney type noise - like metal edge on metal edge. I can't see anything tho  . Any ideas what this might be. It happened all today, and once before (also sunny and warm IIRC?). Any ideas what this might be? Another way to describe the noise is like a large heavy gate, or a safe, being opened, it's very odd  . Cheers for any help :) Pete

Has anyone ever replaced their passenger side O2 sensor ? I got the special tool (Thanks to Andy P ;)) but I'm having great problems reaching it. What is in the pipe below and can I take it off to get more space to work ?. http://www.300zx-mods.co.uk/delete0.jpg Also Can anyone tell me what this pipe does ? http://www.300zx-mods.co.uk/delete2.jpg It seems to have snapped off of this section (I think). Here's where I risk imbecile status, but I'm new to the Z & don't know where everything is or isn't for the purpose of checking everything's topped up etc... does the cooling system not have an expansion chamber like the 200 where you check the water level? Ive sussed the air con out I think but this Clifford alarm is a bit of a pain. Where's the washer bottle? Before you rip into me, in my defence I only got the car Monday & I work 6 till 6 so I've not had much chance to get aquainted yet. Cheers lads. Oh by the way, that new Williams F1 leather cleaner & conditioner seems to have done a nice job.

I've just got an engine ECU chip for my TT. I've been told its a JWT chip, but it doesn't have a JWT label on it. Is it a copy ?? The chip has a tiny window in it where you can see the internals. Typed on the body of the chip it says............. Malaysia Copyright 1986 AMD It also has lots of letters and numbers that don't appear to mean anything. What do you think ??????? Should I put it in my car ?????? Thanks Andy

Just been for a test drive of a Z tt auto, the car looks the dogs, goes like stink but I had one reservation. From a standing start if I nailed it there was a knocking from the centre console, like a thudding noise. I couldn't reproduce it in higher gears but was definitely present from a start. What is this likely to be? My mate had a 2.8 capri that did exactly the same thing (I know theres no comparison!) it turned out to be the prop shaft bearing. If thats what it is how much is it likely to cost to get it sorted? Any help would be appreciated as I really liked the car in every other way Rod

Hi, Just Browsing the Mustang forum for a mate who has just bought one! I saw a post on there saying that antifreeze does not have as much thermal capacity as water and if you want your car to run cooler you are better off using the lowest ratio of antifreeze to water!! Weather permitting of course!!!! I admit to being puzzled as it usually says on the tin summer coolant and antifreeze?????????? Answers on a A4 piece of paper please!

Just a quick question I'm hoping someone might know the answer to.....at some point soon, I need to change my brakes discs. As far as I know, they are standard Nissan discs. Yesterday, a friend of mine took a quick look at the discs and said that I could skim the disc, rather than go to the cost of new ones, because there was still plenty on them. I just wondered if anyone has tried this, and how safe it is? I don't race the car (apart from the odd traffic lights incident!), and I don't do many miles in it. Is it a good idea to skim them or not?
