Was talking to Luke a while back and during the conversation he reccomended bonnet venting as an effective way of aiding engine cooling. anyone here got bonnet vents and if so, do they help keep your engine a bit cooler?

Couple more questions on my '90 NA 1) needs a new zorst, probably a full system, any recommendations? Back before I got into bikes PECO were the one to go for, but times change 2) Will probably look at freeing up the breathing somewhat, is an free air filter (eg K&N ) enough or should I go for a cold air induction kit? 3) Any other suggestions to enable a few more ponies out of the stable would be appreciated Cheers

When driving in pretty much a straight line for around 20 mins(motorway cruising etc) my Hicas light comes on and I seem to have to steer very slightly left to go in a straight line. As soon as i get to corners/twisties etc the steering rectifies itself but the Hicas light stays on until I turn off the engine - then when I restart everthing is ok again. I dont get this problem at all driving on normal roads (i.e. anything with corners in). Any thoughts?

Hi Zedsters, Sorry to be a real lame-ass on this one, but I've checked the archived threads and I can't find the information I need. I know what HICAS is (and I'm quite impressed with 4 wheel steer!) But I've got bugger all idea where I top the fluid up (HICAS Red light is now always lit on my dash) and what with (I'm such an amateur!). Also can anybody tell me how urgent it is to do this, coz I'm worried that it's gonna go all Pete Tong the longer I leave it. Cheers guys and gals

Looking to get my car serviced Definately cam belts/alternator belts need checking/replacing Give it a good once over What exactly does a proper service mean? What do i get for my money? Are there different types of service? How long, do they need my car? A day? Do they replace things like spark plugs, fuel filters etc as part of service? This is the only car I have, so not having it causing major hassle (work, kids) Please recommend a reliable and trustworthy mechanic who knows what they are doing Thanks for your support:D

My Road Angel (GPS) and AVC-R (input from ecu) match 100% The speedos are always out, but 100mph on my dash is only about 91/92mph on the others. This seams a bit much. How much is yours out, is this normal? Jez.

Why pay big money for Plugs get a set of NGK BCR8ES or BCR7ES. depends on your boost setting they retail for £1.52 + Vat. they work fine and no power loss. We use them in our 8ltr big block chevy V8 600 BHP (more with NOS) 280ZX Drag car(8.49 at 168mph) as well as in my 300zx 18psi boost. been using this plug forever. So if the mechanic tells you this is Crap then you can see for your self at the pod or Avon park. the triple electrobe plugs and split fire type plugs are no better than the above we have tried them on the track and found NO power Difference.they are only good if you do not service your car every 10,000miles. mines done every 6000…

Watched someone do a three point turn in my car and noticed that the rear wheels didn't turn at all! Also the car's turning circle is is not much smaller than the Q.E.II 's. Is my HICAS knackered? The HICAS bulb works. However, I've yet to run a diagnostics. Cheers Jon

Visited Elite wheels today and they were as useful as a chocolate teapot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All the guy said was, the amount of wheels available for Z's in that size was limited, as if I didn't know that! So which make and model of wheels are available for the Z in 10x18 ? I did like a wheel that sounds like a German Porn Star, Leon Hardiritt, Bugle, LOL, but I didn't like the price!!!!

  23. Finaly found a tool to get the bloody thing undone LOL. While I had the battery out, I found that a vaccum pipe had broken off. Andy P. You remeber we couldn't get the RMP below 1000 without disconnecting the O2 sensor, it was the same with the new sensor in, but then connecting this pipe back up, adjusting the tps to .40 I managed to get down to 750 rpm. It's a little lumpy at the moment I have reset the ECU so we'll see how it goes in a 100 miles or so. I'll come up this weekend and return your tool (oh-er) and swap those MAS's back over. I think mine is ok apart from the obvious missing mesh.

:D She is a 1990 Black Manual NA. Mileage is 50k and she looks like a clean example(hopefully). She will be in UK, in the first days of May I know the TT is faster and more fun, but that's all i could afford at the moment, due to other buys i did recently. I can't wait for the car to arrive in Southampton. :D:D:D:D Looking forward to come to the meetings. :)

Has anyone else had the misfortune of sliding their Zed into a large kerb and damaging the rear wheel, suspension and steering arm? If so, please could you let me know how much the bill came to? I've been quoted between £900 and £1200 so far. And Im not happy. Thanks Brian.
