Well i think it was a turbo, he hung on to the back of my TT dam well, it was fitted with i nice veilside body kit and it was jet black. Started of he pulled up along side me at some lights, so i pulled away steady then floored it, but he kept up, so then we come to the next set of lights side by side and both in the lanes to take us on to the A45, so again pulled of slowly as did he, then we hit the slip road and it was just a straight drag managed to pull a couple of car lenghts in front and then the autobox slipped nicely into third and before i know it im doing 120mph and the MR2 has dropped back some more, and that was it got stuck in row of traffic and he flashed me…

Hi, I have recently bought a 300ZX from Japan which is equipped with a HKS Electronic Boost Valve Controller. When I bought the car from the importer he told me not to touch it! But today, after a week, I turned it on. Now I've never been in one of these cars before, and for the last week I thought it was fast - however now I have this HKS thing turned on, it's rapid!!! The only problem is I don't quite know how to use it, and what boost levels are safe? When I turned it on, it was set at (I think) 0.9 bar, which is 13psi. I turned it up to 1 bar, which is 15psi !!!!! Now is this pressure at each turbo, or do I half this pressure because it's a twin? And …

Hi, my Z seems to have lost its edge, the boost guage runs to 12psi, but I did chcnage it from the jap one to PSI when I did the clocks so it might not be that acurate. But anyway, everything esle is good, mid range etc seem fine, but I think it used to read 14psi before. It doesnt seem to have that "snarl" when I give it some. i dont drive that fast very often. I know its a bit vague but any thoughts? Or things I could check, what level is "safety boost" not that I think its that, never hear detonation etc. The rest of the car is very good. Help..

Hi all I've been hiding for some time after becoming a hermit in order to pass the professional exams I recently finished (honestly, 24 and still doing homework!! lol) However, I now have a week off work and am hoping to find a Zed after a ride in Chris0r's a month or so ago made my indecisive mind up for me.. on 2 fronts. a) Yes, I must have a Zed TT ;) b) It should be as pukka as his is, but a manual. Despite my hermitry, I have kept a close eye on Autotrader and this site, and have found 3 Zeds worthy of closer inspection: 1) £5,950 K reg UK Manual. Mark (TOPLESS)'s TT. Red 2) 1990 H Reg Nissan 300 ZX Manual Twin Turbo In Silver. 69,000 km…

Well, and yesterday. Did passenger side yesterday & it was easy enough but today it was the driver's side... Very hard work indeed. The hardest bit was getting the new valve started on the threads. One bit of advice is chuck the small rear hose clip with a jubillee clip 'cause it's just too hard a job getting the original back in position. Another bit of advice is get em done 'cause the car feels more responsive & I mean quite a bit, I was really surprised. Goo on lads give the Zs a treat.

Hello all :) Had problems whilst fitting a new Samco top radiator hose today. The rad inlet where the hose fits onto crumbled as the plastic was v brittle and I was only left with 10mm-ish to jubilee clip the hose onto. I had to put the orig one back on cos the Samco was slightly shorter, enough to mean it wouldn't stay on now the plastic was broken. Now is the inlet part of the radiator, or does it come off the radiator? It extends down the side so looks like the rad would have to come out to replace the broken bit anyway. Suppose I could try to repair the plastic with glue and more plastic but dont want to botch it. Anyone had this before? I've put …

Hi, Can anybody help with information. My garage phoned to say that the guy that does their window replacement has been in and looked at my car. The rear window seal was cut back for a respray, and now needs replacing. He is very concerned as the Rear Window is a very tight fit (and bonded) into the hatch frame. He thinks he is likely to damage the glass in trying to take it out (and it is a very expensive item - Import 2-seater coupe). Any knowledge or advice? Is there a specialist in the SW London area for this kind of thing? Thanks, Geoff

Middle cylinder drivers side is not firing. Fine when turned off one evening, duff next morning. I've swapped the coil pack and the plug over, fault stays on same cylinder. and the plug sparks when the engine is running and it's laying on the block If anyone has any good ideas I'd be glad to hear them. If they involve cleaning sensors etc a pointer to the location would be appreciated. I've managed to locate the PTU (old type) and thats about it. Just off for a pie and a pint (and a moan) Cheers in advance

Sorry about the dumb ass question, but has the 300 got 2 AFM's or just the one? Reason is I have a Z32 AFM to fit to my car, and need to get the appropriate adapter plate to fit, but prices for induction kits so far have been really high, and I'm thinking perhaps this is because it comes with 2 filters and plates. Please let me know, many thanks, Vince :)

Can anyone send me a picture of a uk spec rear seat belt fitting? I have managed to acquire a set of uk belts to fit to my import car, but there are no clues as to just which bit goes where! Excerpts from the manual, or a photo of a uk car would be brilliant. Many thanks, Nigel

Right, now that the beast in gonna have to have gearbox removed, new clutch fitted, core plugs fitted, all turbo water by-pass hoses replaced, I've got to thinking that now might be the time to finally bite the bullet and get the turbos done. The offside turbo has smoked a wee bit from about a year after I bought it.. it went smokey-mad when I tried to fit the 3" straight though exhaust system of Mark's 300ZX a few years ago up at Johnny's place.. So it's always been an issue, and obviously stopped me gutting the cats for example, as it would do the same thing (I have a mongoose system on there). So replacing the turbos would mean I could gut the cats, and …
